Ex-Prosecutor Rewarded for Not Going After Obama in Rezko/Blago Cases, Gets Luxe Partnership @ Obama Law Firm
Remember Patrick Fitzgerald? He’s the U.S. Attorney in Chicago who went after and indicted Cheney adviser Scooter Libby for NOT being the source of the “Valerie Plame is a CIA Agent” leak. He’s also the same U.S. Attorney who refused to go after Barack Obama, despite his improper and quite shady dealings with convicted felon Tony Rezko. And, as an insider federal agent told me and I told you on this site, Fitzgerald deliberately waited until after the election to go after Blago, despite having enough to go after him while Obama was campaigning against McCain in the summer of 2008. Fitzgerald covered the whole thing up. And guess what? As a reward, Fitzgerald just got a cushy partnership at a law firm at which top Obamanik Greg Craig is a high-ranking partner. As the French would say, Quelle Coincidence! Whatta Coincidence!
U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald: He Protected Obama’s Ass, Now Obama Pats Him on Back
Our friend, Gary Welsh at Advance Indiana, has the story:
It’s business as usual in Chicago. After protecting President Barack Obama from criminal liability for his corrupt relationship with convicted political fixer Tony Rezko, former Chicago U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald has been rewarded with a partnership in the Chicago office of New York-based law firm giant Skadden, Arps, Slate & Meagher. The firm counts among its partners, Greg Craig, Obama’s first White House Counsel, who had to help navigate Obama through Fitzgerald’s investigation of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s attempt to sell Obama’s Senate seat, from which he resigned shortly after being elected President but before he was sworn into office.
Well, whaddya know. Crime pays. Especially if you’re the guy who’s supposed to investigate the crime and looks the other way. That’s the ultimate crime. Ain’t it?
Cha-ching.

Not surprising. AUSAs are more concerned with their won-loss record. US Attorneys don’t seem to be held to the standards their underlings are, and so politics guide their moves. Sickening.
