40 Years Ago Today, Munich Massacre Began – Israeli Olympians Kidnapped, Slaughtered by Islamic Terrorists
Forty years ago today, Islamic terrorists kidnapped Israeli Olympic athletes and coaches in Munich, a siege which ultimately resulted in the slaughter of the Israelis. Upon their initial invasion of the Olympic dorms, the terrorists murdered two of the Israelis and ultimately they murdered the rest. Unfortunately, it’s a little remembered anniversary, while in the 40 years since, Islamic terrorists have been systematically and consistently rewarded for their brutal, animalistic behavior. The murderers were all freed, and the victims have yet to get a memorial in the opening ceremonies of an Olympic Games. One of those victims was David Berger, an American athlete from Cleveland.
If you’ve read any historical accounts of the Munich massacre or seen any of the terrific movies and documentaries, including and especially, “One Day in September” (which I highly recommend), you know that the kidnap and murder of the Israeli athletes happened only because Germany and the International Olympic Committee had poor security and refused to let the Israelis protect their own or even intervene once the athletes were taken hostage. You also know that the German police and “security” forces were idiots and Keystone Kops extraordinaire. Israeli government and Mossad officials watched in shock, disgust, and frustration, after each egregious blunder by the Germans resulted in more and more chances for the terrorists to murder the Israelis and get away with it, which was the ultimate result. Not only were all of the Israeli athletes and coaches who were taken hostage murdered, but their murderers ultimately got away. The Germans, not wanting to remember the horrible things they did to the Jews in the Holocaust, didn’t want to have Muslim murderers of Jews in their jails, so they worked out a ridiculous deal to free them. Not long after the Munich massacre, the Germans worked with the Palestinians to allow the Palestinians to stage a phony hijacking, and the few Munich massacre-ists who were behind German bars were freed in exchange for the passengers on the flight. Now, more and more records have come out to show that German authorities knew all along of the Palestinian plans for the Munich massacre, and simply ignored them, just like they were active and complicit in what was going on in the ovens and camps in the 1940s.
The Munich Olympic terrorist attack was the first wall-to-wall TV coverage of an Islamic terrorist attack, and the Muslims learned how to use TV to their advantage. They also got a very sympathetic news anchor out of it, in the days when there was no cable, and the anchors of the big three broadcast network had way too much influence and power. Peter Jennings, then an ABC News reporter from Canada, danced on the graves of the slain Israeli athletes and made a career of it. He kept quiet that he “dated” (euphemism) one of the sexiest beasts of Palestinian femininity, Arafat’s “Christian” water-carrier Hanan Ashrawi. And he later went on to years of anti-Israel hatred disguised as news anchoring on ABC. (Apparently, there is some poetic justice as lung cancer finally took him to his just rewards, after he began smoking again in response to the 9/11 attacks.)
Like the 9/11 attacks on America, the Munich massacre was an example of how Islamic mass murderers can use a massacre to reap rewards, even beyond the phony, staged hijacking. Like 9/11, the Munich massacre was a great PR move by Muslims because it was yet another exercise in how the world–and especially, America–rewards Islamic terrorists for mass murders of innocent civilians by giving those terrorists and their supporters more and more and more, encouraging more such terrorism. It’s not Stockholm Syndrome. It’s something far worse: Munich Syndrome. Munich Syndrome is where you reward Islamic terrorists over and over again, even though you weren’t one of their hostages. It’s a disease that sadly afflicts the West and has never been cured. We saw it after 9/11. We saw it again after the London Tube attacks. And we keep seeing it and seeing it, rewarding the Islamic terrorists and their 1.8 billion supporters with increased immigration privileges, an army of Justice Department lawyers, and other forms of affirmative action ad absurdum.
In 1973, just months after the Munich massacre, Yasser Arafat (who paid the Munich terrorists for their slaughter), seeing no retribution for his mass murder, did it again, this time ordering the torture murder of America’s top diplomats in Sudan, Cleo Noel and George Curtis Moore, then America’s top Black State Department official, were beaten to death, with Yasser Arafat personally giving the orders. They were tortured to death and beaten so badly, authorities could not tell which of the two was the Black man and which was White, and their dental records had to be used to identify them.
And just a year later–and two years after the Munich massacre–in 1974, Arafat and his P.L.O. were rewarded with a United Nations mission, the first step of many in gaining a country that was not theirs, getting international recognition for it, and receiving billions and billions in U.S. and Western money to support it. Ultimately, the Munich terror master, Arafat, was welcomed to the Clinton White House, President George W. Bush became the first U.S. President to call for a Palestinian State for Arafat (despite many homicide bombings at hotels, bars, and pizza shops orchestrated by Arafat just before that), and Arafat’s paymaster, Mahmoud Abbas–the man who personally sent remuneration to the Munich terrorists on Arafat’s behalf–is living the high life as an unelected President For Life of the Palestinian Authority, with billions he and his kids socked away in Swiss bank accounts from largesse they got from the Bush and Obama governments.
And similar to the Munich massacre rewards, the 9/11 attacks were rewarded by President Bush with seven years of the largest Islamic immigration to America ever, with 40% of Muslims in the U.S. having come here AFTER the 9/11 attacks. The 9/11 attacks were rewarded with President Bush creating a separate division of the Justice Department Office of Civil Rights, just to prosecute and go after innocent Americans on behalf of Muslims. This division prosecuted Americans for such First Amendment “crimes” as truthful blog posts, e-mails saying that Mohammed was a pedophile and that Islam is a violent religion, and elected officials in municipalities across America who would not zone for terrorist-supporting mosques.
Muslims know a lot of what they learned from the Munich massacre, and history repeats itself. They know that they can foment mass terrorist attacks and not only won’t they be punished for it, they will be rewarded over and over again, as the West bends over backward and forward and removes its shoes and belts and confiscates drinks, shampoo, and toothpaste at airports and removed shoes again and kneels in mosques in response to Muslim violence and murder. Muslims saw that the West didn’t respond to the Munich massacre with anything but pandering to the murderers and their cheering people. They saw we did nothing–except invent the horrible Ted Koppel career and “Nightline” show–in response to Muslims taking over the U.S. Embassy in Iran and holding Americans hostage for 444 days. Muslims saw the same with the Hezbollah massacre of over 300 U.S. Marines and civilians in the Beirut barracks and U.S. Embassy and the accompanying torture murder of U.S. Navy diver Robert Dean Stethem and Col. Rich Higgins and CIA station chief William Buckley. They saw that the more they did the more they were rewarded.
Muslims continue to see that 40 years later, Muslims continue to be rewarded for their massacre of Israeli athletes with the building of a wall between training Israeli and Lebanese athletes–at Lebanese insistence–in a gym at the London Olympics and the refusal to remember the slain Israelis. They see that even before that, American Jewish director Steven Spielberg fictionalizes and ridicules the only brave response to the Olympic massacre, in his absurd movie bomb, “Munich” (read my review). They see that the Mossad hits on many of those who planned the Munich massacre is shown as wrong and silly and the work of whiny headcases. In contrast, Abu Spielberg portrayed the Munich terrorists as classy, nice people–they play piano and like symphonic music, they give you aspirin when you have a headache, they have cute daughters, and they buy gourmet bread from upscale bakeries.
Gone are the days when Hollywood actually had the guts to make a TV movie like “21 Hours at Munich
,” which ABC aired in 1976. It was nominated for two Emmys. Today, none of the networks would have the guts to air this movie, much less would the Hollywood charlatans nominate it for any award. It is chilling and tearjerking at the end when Israeli athletes in helicopters know they are about to die and utter the “Shemah,” the Jewish prayer about the monotheism of G-d. (I highly recommend you buy this DVD and see this movie from the days when Hollywood wasn’t afraid to say and do the right thing about Islamic terror.)
And 40 years later, this evil, cold-blooded massacre of the Munich Eleven–eleven innocent Israeli athletes and coaches–who were minding their own business getting ready to compete in sporting events–is barely a memory to a very few, largely unknown to the rest. That’s the biggest tragedy of all and part of why we keep repeating the Munich Syndrome response of rewarding Islamic terrorists by playing more and more of a host to their metastasizing cancer throughout the West.
Never forget what happened in Munich on September 5th and 6th in 1972. Remember the Israeli athletes and coaches.

Go to The Munich Eleven website and learn more about the event. Buy “One Day in September.” Join our Facebook Page, “The IOC Should Memorialize the Israeli Athlete Murdered in Munich in 1972.” And say a prayer for these brave souls who gave their lives for the crime of being Jews, just as their fellow Jews did in 1940s Germany. And as Jews do everyday in Israel and other place–such as in 2008 in Mumbai, in 2012 Lyon, France and beyond.
Muslims do this because they saw how they were rewarded for what they did in Munich. And they will keep doing it. When will we fight back?

It continues because our response is usually minimal or unsustained. Merah’s murder spree in France is hardly discussed now. The interesting thing is that French security services had had the man’s sister under surveillance for quite some time prior to the scooter shootings. She gave material support to her brother prior to the attack, but the authorities did nothing to intervene. Even now, she seems to be apparently free.
