since when do muslims work? everytime i see them they are on tv protesting the united states, when do they find the time to make money , interesting question?

I really don’t see what the big deal is. The cashier won’t handle the food in question, so she buzzes over a co-worker to handle it for her, then she moves on & does her job. How is it different from a company that accommodates religious folks who request certain days off for holidays? Sure, it takes another employee or two to “cover,” for the religious person, but big deal.
It’s the same as when pharmacies have another pharmacist on hand if one won’t dispense birth control. Personally, I’d fire the person’s butt, but if the company wants to handle it by simply having another employee on hand to cover any circumstances that one employee won’t deal with, why should I care?

This is absolutely insane. What in hell is the matter with Target? What if a Jew said he didn’t want to handle Christmas decorations? What if a voodooist said she didn’t want to handle any food with coconut oil?
Why would any boss take this kind of crap from any employee? My boss would have told me to go to hell.
This slope isn’t just slippery, it’s tilted at about sixty degrees.

Catering to special interest groups is the reason I boycott my local Borders book store from which I used to buy all my books until I found out that they gave in to the muslims and put all their korans on the top shelf by themselves at the request of the religion of perpetual outrage.

Can anyone else see the parallel here with stories about people other than this muslim girl refusing to do their jobs because their duties conflict with their religious beliefs? What about pharmacists who refuse to fill a birth control prescription because it violates their religious beliefs? Or how about the recent story about a christian doctor who refused to treat a child because her mother had tattoos(see link below).
This is not just a muslim issue.. yet again you are trying to make it into one. The bottom line is all these people are idiots and should go and find other jobsÖ

There is a difference. Sorry you can’t see it. The difference between a pharmacist not dispensing birth control or the morning after pill is that there is outrage all over the place and it is covered every day in the news until they give in. This will never be covered because it is being seen as being ‘tolerant’ and ‘enlightened’.
Of course, they’re tolerant or enlightened as long as they agree with you. Otherwise you’re just a bigot, racist, whatever name they can come up with.
(Of course they is the MSM).

Squirrel3d, it doesn’t take balls to purchase pork at Target. Target isn’t saying you can’t purchase pork – a cashier who objects to handling the materials simply gets another cashier to handle the transaction. No big deal.
For the record, I have no problem with a pharmacist who won’t handle birth control devices, SO LONG AS there’s another pharmacist at hand who will. If the employer wants to accommodate that, who cares?

PLEASE keep writing to Target about this if you have not done so to impress upon them to make sure they don’t ever approach this line again. I wrote them, thanks to Debbie, letting them know if one of their cashiers did this to me due to their corporate philosophy, I would never ever shop there again. Either everyone’s email is working or this particular store really messed up.
This is what I got back from them:

No other religion has ever even come close to imposing their beliefs or restrictions upon other citizens the way members of the religion of islam is attempting to do.
I will be happy to accommodate their requests when there are churches, Buddhist temples, Jewish synagogues and houses of other worship allowed to exist and other religions are practiced freely in the islamic world. Then and only then will it be acceptable for them to come here and expect to be accommodated.
Until then they may continue to whine all they want. If they can not perform the job they are hired to do they should go work for an islamic business. I am sure they won’t have to handle pork there and things will be simpler for all of us. Better yet I think they they will be happier in a country that practices islam and all it’s customs and restrictions.
Can you all imagine the reaction if one of our citizens(not a Muslim) went to Saudi Arabia and started requesting that they allow Christmas to be celebrated in their schools and or businesses? They would be locked up and judged according to sharia law.
So please, until the time when we can all live the way we want, where ever we want in the world, I think the Muslim society should concentrate on bringing their religion to the 21st century instead of dragging us all back to the 7th century.
