Nauseating: U.S. Won’t Allow American Jews Born in Jerusalem to Have “Israel” on Documents

By Debbie Schlussel
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****
Jerusalem is the official capitol of Israel. It is part of the country, and yet America still won’t recognize it, choosing to have the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv.
That’s old news.
But things have gotten worse. As reported by Yisrael Medad of My Right Word, the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem refuses to put Israel on the American passports and other documents of Americans born in Jerusalem . . . any part of Jerusalem. I guess that Western Wall is of the “Muslim” Temple? I guess it’s the City of “Dawud”? Instead, a non-existent country, “West Bank” is on their passports and birth documents.

Israeli Soldiers Recapture the Western Wall & Liberate Jerusalem
Writes Yisrael:

The United States Consulate General in Jerusalem, which is where all American citizens residing in Jerusalem, east and west, as well as Judea and Samaria come to for consular services cannot have “Israel” appended to the name of the city “Jerusalem” if their child is born in Shaare Zedek, Bikkur Cholim, Misgav Ladach or the two Hadaash hospitals. Jerusalem as a sovereign part of Israel is not recognized.

Read the rest here and his follow-up here, as Yisrael has done a lot of work and investigation into this.
Sadly, that’s the State Department for you: a bunch of scumbag pan-Arabists and pan-Muslims who hate Israel and will never miss an opportunity to manifest that hatred in policy.
But as I’ve written about extensively, in “Whose Jerusalem?” Jerusalem has always been a Jewish city, always the capitol of the Jewish people, and the Muslim claim to it is phony and made up.
**** UPDATE: Carl in Jerusalem notes that three years ago, he wrote about how the U.S. Embassy expunged “Jerusalem, Israel” from a death certificate of someone–a relative of his friends–who died in Jerusalem, and reminds me that I also wrote about that very same story, as reported by Michael Freund of The Jerusalem Post.

There seems to be perpetual stupidity infecting the State Dept,I can only surmise it is qualification #1 for employment.
Nevermind that not once,NOT EVEN ONCE,is Jerusalem named in that vile trash of make believe called the Koran.
The only good use I’ve found for mine is in the loo,but the pages “scratch” if one is not gentle.

The State Department’s hostility to Israel isn’t going to change. It looks like Jews will be waiting til the arrival of the Messiah before the US acknowledges the obvious about Jerusalem. Yes, its nauseating and its also nothing new.

The whole idea of the consulate in Jerusalem is a denial of reality. Unlike the vast majority of other (I think every other but I am not certain) consulates, this consulate does not report to an embassy (Specifically to the US embassy in Tel Aviv). It operates on its own.
It would seem that the US State Department is in some need of lessons in simple Geography and History. Denying Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem is the factual equivalent of denying “1 + 1 = 2”.
The above having been said, it seems as if the US State Department is violating its own policy here. From Yisrael’s article linked to above:
“the Department of State (CA)ís general policy of showing the birthplace as the country having present sovereignty.”

I am disgusted. there is no country called West Bank. If Obama is committed to a “United” Jewish Jerusalem (like he promised last year) then why is he doing this?
more lies from Reverend Wright’s man

It’s much worse than that, Debbie. Mitchell has installed himself in J’lem along with a coterie of rapidly anti-Israel (read Jew-hating) underlings. The goal is to establish Mitchell as the de facto colonial administrator of Jersualem and environs. US officials are setting up parallel security, administrative, and intelligence operations, so that the US will be able to wrest control of J’lem and Judea and Samaria from the Israelis.
As part of this American takeover, IDF anti-terror activities will be severely constrained, so expect a substantial increase in attacks in Jerusalem but also in Tel Aviv and elsewhere. The US is effectively taking control of Jersalem and the so-called West Bank, and Israelis living there are, for all intents and purposes, now colonial subjects.
But wait, it gets worse. The American military officer charged with training Fatah troops (Dayton) has made clear that these will eventually be used by the US-created Palestinian state against Israel. In a few years time, there will be two states: Israel, confined to it’s 1949 borders, and a US-armed and trained Palestinian terror state effectively run by Hamas and launching attacks under the Iranian nuclear umbrella and armed and trained by the Americans. The Iranians and the Americans are now, effectively, allies.
The eventual plan is to make life in Israel so uncomfortable and insecure that young people simply leave the country and it ceases to be viable. Make no mistake, this is the Obama plan. The Israelis have blundered at every opportunity in the past (thank Livni and Olmert), to destroy Hezbollah and Hamas, to take out the Iranian nuclear program at an early stage, and to force an advantageous Palestinian deal with Bush in the White House. Now, I’m afraid, it’s too late. Only a Churchill-like figure could deal with the quandry Netanyahu faces today, and he’s no Churchill.

My head hurts and I can’t figure out why. All I’m doing is walking in my house. It couldn’t be the walls or doors since they’re benevolent and have always been there. The walls are only concerned about the roof – not me – so why do they keep bothering me.

Guess I will go upstairs, puke and come down and grab a beer. This Islama Obama guy is despicable. Keep in mind that Israel’s fate will ultimately be ours.

This has nothing to do with Obama.
I’m surprised this is news to anyone. Our children are all born in Jerusalem. This policy has been in effect for decades. From our oldest, already married and raising a family, down to our youngest 10 year old – none of them have Israel listed in the US birth certificates or passports.
This issue has come up in numerous articles in various newspapers over the years.

ott, but the Weekly Standard’s blog posted a link to a study that concluded Dems tend to be more anti-Semitic than the GOP
http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2009/06/democrats_republicans_and_jews.asp
ìDemocrats were especially prone to blaming Jews: while 32 percent of Democrats accorded at least moderate blame, only 18.4 percent of Republicans did so (a statistically significant difference).î
