CNN: You Know Who’s Being Hit Hardest in This Economy? Muslims Trying to Start CAIR Chapters

By Debbie Schlussel
Leave it to CNN, the Coran News Network (or Crescent News Network, take your pick).
While the rest of us are looking at ways to save, cut back, and get ahead in this tough economy, CNN thinks it’s something that needs to be examined by religion. Because, as we all know, we Jews and Christians pay different prices at the gas pump and supermarket than Muslims, who are more “victimized” by tough economic times. The register at checkout recognizes their inner crescent and automatically jacks up the prices. Right?
Well, since CNN couldn’t plausibly go ahead and seriously make that absurd charge, they made a different one–almost as absurd. Times are tough because a Muslim couple has important expenses . . . like starting a chapter of CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations). an unindicted HAMAS terrorist financier.

Lori Saroya: Muslim Chick Making $120K Hardest Hit in Tough Economy

b/c She Has Sharia Mortgage & Has to Start CAIR Chapter

In its “Religion and Money: The Price of Faith” series, CNN tells us the story of three different couples–Muslim, Christian, and Jewish–and how they have certain specific struggles in this economy. I couldn’t find the Jewish couple’s story–it’s been removed, probably because the Muslim couple insisted on erasing the Jews from the CNN (site) map.
But the Muslim couple’s story is just so touching. Kashif and Lori Saroya make almost $120,000 a year. But the poor things, dear souls that they are, have to pay $1,800 extra per year for a Sharia-complaint mortgage they insisted on undertaking. Oh, the unfairness.
And then there’s their CAIR chapter–an expense that those Jews and Christians don’t have to do, and it’s not fair.

They make $117,500 a year. But they don’t spend much on themselves. Their biggest outlays are on community service work. Lori estimates that, for one, she’s spent about $15,000 to establish the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which advocates for Muslims facing discrimination.

Correction: It advocates for Muslims discriminating. This is “community service work”? More like service against the community.
But, anyway, Muslims starting CAIR chapters . . . the Americans hardest hit in our economy.
Reader Juli:

It stopped me in my tracks: part
of the Muslim woman’s financial hardship involved setting up a local
chapter of CAIR. How nice.

Yup. But that’s the CNN agenda. Teaching Muslims to love terrorist groups and hate non-Muslims is expensive. But, apparently, a CAIR chapter is now an economic necessity in America.
Disgusting.

I am wondering if the Sharia compliant mortgage has any tax deductable component.
Also thinking that the $15,000 to start the CAIR chapter may be tax deductable because it goes to a non-profit.

What the really want are not equal rights but special privileges. To condition us dhimmis for life under Sharia. That is CAIR’s true agenda. What Debbie means to present by this moral is a word of warning: Muslims are not like us and even when they have made it in America they are still not thankful for the greatness of this country and all its blessings like Jews and Christians are. No wonder they keep trying to establish new CAIR chapters to change the country.
Disgusting, indeed.

Yeah, but it could have been worse.
Suppose the Muslim couple started up a tv station showing the moderation and reasonableness of Islam. And further, suppose the husband of such a start up Muslim station cut off his wife’s head in these troubled economic times. He would’ve had to pay lawyers fees that were astronomically inflated because of our deteriorating economic situation.

Underzog–right on, right on! I was thinking the second sentence you wrote–before I even read it.
It’s tough to be a jihadi in this recession. Sniff sniff.

What the hell is a Sharia mortgage? And what pandering idiot set it up and made it available to these cave dwellers? Is it a mortgage free of Jewish agents, bankers, and lending institutions? That would be sanctioned discrimination! How can we allow those mooslimes to get away with it? Can you imagine a white power mortgage? How about a misogynist mortgage? How long would that fly? but we let these cretins get away with anything. Christians are’t even allowed to speak ill of homosexuality, but we hand these scumbags the key to Fort Knox

[spiffo: What the hell is a Sharia mortgage?]
I am not certain about all the requirements, but one requirement is that there is no interest since interest violates Islam. However this is just a technicality. There is no way any bank is going to lend money without making a profit.
I believe the person who takes the loan out pays a “fee” for the use of the property, and after a certain amount of time they no longer have to make payments.
Also, I am certain that when the banks report these loans they report them just as they would any of their other loans where they do charge interest.
The “fee” is just a technical way of paying interest without it showing up that way on paper.
Another requirement is that Zakat (Islamic word for charity) be paid out of the profits. Unfortunately some of this “charity” goes to terrorist organizations.
There are more requirements but I am not familiar with the others.
Unfortunately many financial institutions are taking up Sharia Financial products which involve more than just mortgages. In fact AIG has started to do this. What makes this even more disgusting is that you and I own AIG due to the bailout. I know of at least one lawsuit still in the courts against the AIG bailout for this very reason (based on the separation of Church and State).

TIRED of scrolling down trying to get YOUR opinion on the Pope’s pro-Palestinian posturing…guess you’re cool with the former Hitler Youth Benedict 16 being okay with the alleged six million *Shoah*nized???

EminemsRevenge on May 14, 2009 at 10:12 pm

I think you posted the Pope comments to the wrong thread. But I had to mention, Hitler Youth was not something you joined, it was something you were forced into when you reached the proper age.

I just have to say this “outloud”…gosh, I am
so sick of this stuff. That is a helluva lot of money to make…especially in this day and age when so many people are losing their jobs or only being able to find part-time with NO health insurance and your kids have to quit college, and the dam list goes on. Go back to your middle eastern country if you so love it there.
Please go back. Please go away and leave us white, oppressionist, gun toting Americans from Europe alone…oh, I forgot…we are racist, too.

Just like they don’t want you to know the truth about who really faces the most “hate” crimes each year (Jews), they don’t want you to know the truth of economic realities of being an Orthodox Jew-
Kosher food ($7/lb for chop meat? $5-$8/lb for chicken?)
Kosher religious requirements: Mezuzot- one for each doorpost in the house, easily $50 each minimum for Kosher parchment inside; Talit (prayer shawl) and Tefillin (phylactories), both required by God’s word in the Torah, easily, close to $1,000 for good ones (i.e. $650 for Tefilin with proper parchments inside), minimum 2 sets of dishes for regular use (milk & meat have to be kept seperate), passover dishes/pots/pans (essentially everything needed for cooking and eating on Passover, again- double sets for milk & meat), Lulav & Esrog set (for Torah ordained holiday of Sukkot- min. set about $50), etc. etc. etc.
Religious education- most Orthodox parents want their children educated at an Orthodox Jewish school- tuition per child, easily $8,000/yr and up (some schools are around the $20K/child/year mark). Public schooling still requires tutoring expenses for the Jewish education- we don’t make demands of the public system…
And, you may find this hard to believe, not all of use are doctors, lawyers, or bankers…
Being an Orthodox Jew is neither cheap nor easy- anyone who thinks Jews have it easy and are in control of anything is of course always welcome to convert…

With a mug like Lori Saroya’s, she ould cover her entire face. Either that or she should shave her hairy ass and learn to walk backwards.

Thee_Bruno on May 15, 2009 at 1:07 pm

Wait a second, the story made no mention of this woman’s hairy ass. Bruno, have you been going to Minnesota for a little Lori-time? I’m just sayin’, how is it you know the condition of her arse?
/sarc off
Anyway, yeah, boo hoo hoo for this Muslim couple. CNN sucks.

Richard on May 15, 2009 at 4:18 pm

Richard,
It’s a known fact that a lot of men have hairy asses (have you ever taken a shower at your local gym?). Now, Lori Saroya looks just like a man in drag wearing those bedsheets…therefore, based upon a scientific sampling of male gym members, she most probably fits the mold.
