I don’t see how Barack Obama had any involvement in this. It seems to have been a DOD photo-op and there’s no indication Obama knew this was taking place.

Concidering this was Air Force One according to some news outlets, that would mean that BO did know what was going on. Exactly what was the photo-op. Was he just showing Americans that he is above the law and he can do anything he damn well pleases without consequence. Terrifying the people of New York was just what….a sick perverse joke that he and his muslim friends can laugh about during Wednesday dinner. The man is a narcissistic sociopath.

I live in the New York area and remember 911 all to well. I was also listening to local radio when this Ôø?Photo OpÔø? took place this morning. There were a lot of frightenen people in the Manhattan area. Radio hosts knew of something going on but couldnÔø?t confirm and thought it might be another terroristÔø?s attack. Tall buildings were evacuated, the tunnels were jammed for hours and people called in to share their personal stories of their fear that we were about to experience 911 once again. People were calling their loved ones to not come into New York or to exit New York immediately.
The plane was ObamaÔø?s back-up plane and from information going around this morning it was reported that this Photo Op was the brain child of the Department of Homeland Security, also that a heads up was given to the NY Police department with the caveat that he not share the information. Apparently even Mayor Blumberg didnÔø?t know.
This is the height of indifference and arrogance or maybe just incompetence and ignorance. If it is true that DHS was the author of this cruel selfish act, madam Napolitano should be fired immediately. God, what in the heck was she thinking?

wolf2012/Hourman: There is no fixed Air Force One. By definition, Air Force One is any plane carrying the President of the United States. If the President is not on it, it is not Air Force One.

There’s a bs lame explanation. The White House says it was updating a file photo of Air Force I with the Statue of Liberty as a backdrop.
With minimal effort and skill, an early Photoshop version, in the hands of a mediocre hack, could satisfactorily produce this Air Force I / Statue of Liberty image. This would save substantial government money while being 100% green.

While it is true that the plane has to have the president aboard to get the CALLSIGN AirForce One, it is one of the two planes that fulfill that role and the fuselage and empennage are marked with the emblem of the president. The left can try to weasel this tactic, but I hardly think this was a case of Obama didn’t know his plane was missing. To make use of the plane requires the whitehouse to request the Air Force prepare the plane, file its flight plans and provide security on the ground, both departure and destination points, do the logistics for in flight refueling, alternative destination planning ad infinitum. The palne would NOT have been taken for a joyride phot-op at the discretion of the US Air Force. This woudl have required the initiative of the administration to do this. Obama “apologized” later in the day, something he seems to be insincerely good at doing lately.
To scare the crap out of the citizens of NYC with something this insensitive, sadly doesnt’ surprise me. Once again the “Messiah in Chief” has shown he’s above consideration of others, and will easily crap all over a symbolic meaning of something that marks a sad sad day in the history of America. I am sure that in the days following the tragedy of 9-11, that the determination, pride in ourselves as Americans, abject sense of loss never was experienced by this man. I blame Obama squarely for this insult to America, moreso in that he used our own military forces to effect this act of enormous disdain.
My husband was a career command officer in the Air Force. He served from Vietnam through the first gul war to current war in Iraq. While he said nothing when we saw this on television, I can easily say that I have never seen such an expression of sadness, or shame bordering on anger cross his face in all the years of our marriage, as it did this morning.
I was always reluctant to say these words, but I think this proves that America died on Nov 4th, 2008. God help us, may it rise again.

Photo op? Hardly. It seems that Team Obama is giving us a scare, then explaining it away, thus eroding our diligence. Something will happen — something real — but we’ll all be conditioned (“Oh, it’s just another ‘photo op’ for the administration”) to ignore the danger.
Nothing, absolutely nothing Obama does is off the cuff. Everything is for a purpose.

The “Messiah” went on a grand America Sucks tour, including bowing to the Saudi king and his terrorizing of the New Yawkers is the perfect coda to an America sucks tour. If America sucks so bad, why not give the Amis a little scare for their arrogance.
What B. Hussein Obama did makes perfect sense to me and is perfect symbolism for his partying around with Chavez; et. al.

Any intern could have photoshopped whatever BHO needed for next to nothing, but instead (since they are spending YOUR MONEY) the White House decides to actually do a fly by and take pictures, with no regard for the citizens who would have to witness this grotesque display of power and coruption. More of the “Do as I say, not as I do” mentality of the far Left. YOU SHOULD ONLY fly when necessary and then buy “carbon offsets or credits”, BUT I CAN fly several military planes around NY all day for no good reason… at the taxpayer’s expense to boot!
