Told Ya So: Napolitano Tells ICE to Ignore Arizona Police Enforcing Immigration Law

By Debbie Schlussel

Earlier today, I told you the Supreme Court decision allowing Arizona police to inquire about immigration status was irrelevant and toothless because Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will ignore them and refuse to pick up and deport the aliens. And, sure enough, I was right. It’s just been disclosed that Department of Homeland Security (DHS) chief Janet Napolitano a/k/a “The Lesbionic Woman” instructed ICE–DHS’ largest agency–to ignore Arizona police calls to detain and deport those they discover are here illegally. J-No’s message to Arizona: don’t call us. Plus we won’t call you. Told ya so.

Illegal Aliens Have the Last Laugh, as Obama, Napolitano and ICE Chief John Morton Take the Obama-cratic Oath: First (and Last), Do Nothing

The Obama administration said Monday it is suspending existing agreements with Arizona police over enforcement of federal immigration laws, and said it has issued a directive telling federal authorities to decline many of the calls reporting illegal immigrants that the Homeland Security Department may get from Arizona police.

Administration officials, speaking on condition they not be named, told reporters they expect to see an increase in the number of calls they get from Arizona police — but that won’t change President Obama’s decision to limit whom the government actually tries to detain and deport.

“We will not be issuing detainers on individuals unless they clearly meet our defined priorities,” one official said in a telephone briefing.

The official said that despite the increased number of calls, which presumably means more illegal immigrants being reported, the Homeland Security Department is unlikely to detain a significantly higher number of people and won’t be boosting personnel to handle the new calls.

“We do not plan on putting additional staff on the ground in Arizona,” the official said. . . .

Federal officials said they’ll still perform the checks as required by law but will respond only when someone has a felony conviction on his or her record. Absent that, ICE will tell the local police to release the person. . . . On Monday the administration officials also said they are ending the seven 287(g) task force agreements with Arizona law enforcement officials, which proactively had granted some local police the powers to enforce immigration laws. . . .

On Monday the administration officials said they had concluded the seven agreements they had signed with various departments in Arizona weren’t working and took the Supreme Court’s ruling as a chance to scrap them.

They WERE working. That’s why they are scrapping them. Arizona discovered plenty of illegal aliens, and they were deported. And, as Arizona Governor, Napolitano rode that wave. But she’s just another political whore, like her boss Obama, so this is no surprise.

It was just too predictable. As with everything they do to avoid doing what’s best for America.

EXIT QUESTION: Does this mean that Harold Hurtt, the sleazy, incompetent, failed former police chief Obama picked to run the 287(g) program will finally get canned? Don’t count on it. The Peter Principle rules Homeland Security, especially at ICE.

EXIT QUESTION #2: Think Mitt Romney will reverse this decision? Don’t bet on that, either. Romnesty is no different than the guy currently in the White House when it comes to immigration. Good luck with that.

We’re screwed.

Pray hard this presidency is in the dusk of its day. They’re so sadly consistently un-American.
Concerns with Romney are understandable. But he deserves better than a mention in the same breath or sentence with the abominable Obama.

haha… The Lesbionic Woman. I love that. 🙂

Through his hubris to “get even with whitey,” this is blatant insubordination of the Supreme Court. Moreover, this President has effectively “Balkanized” America by placating the nation and from its rule of law. Once again, he’s of the mindset the Constitution was drafted by a bunch of slaveowners and racist.

Patrick on June 25, 2012 at 4:45 pm

Yup.

Like I said in my response on the other thread, this is a decision CAIR and Islamic terrorists everywhere are cheering.

Its not going to stop with just not deporting illegal aliens from Mexico and Central America.

The most dangerous illegal aliens here will never get deported from our shores.

I love coming to your site Debbie because you tell it like it is! I have to agree that Americans are watching all this play out and we are getting angrier every day. People tell us that we have a couple of options in our favor: our money and our votes. When all we get is a platter full of bull – I ain’t buyin’ that! I believe that O’Bomination has some nefarious plan up his sleeves with all of the bs he’s pulling lately. I believe the courts did not rule based on the constitution or keeping the American people safe. They acted like the political puppets that they have become.

Kristy on June 25, 2012 at 5:09 pm

Why are you just “watching how this will play out[?]” Why don’t y’all DO something?

Italkit on June 26, 2012 at 11:55 am

Although the Supreme Court is encouraging further lawsuits on the Arizona law. It seems to me that Napolitano’s directives could be the subject of a lawsuit as well.

Why not? Deliberate lack of enforcement of a law, reduced to writing?

Little Al on June 25, 2012 at 5:41 pm

Si, senorita.

I blame the American public. They get more upset when their local baseball team loses than when the President of the United States ignores federal law.

Call the White House and object (202) 456-1111.

Call your U.S. Senator or congressman (202)225-3121.

Call the local and national Republican and Democratic Party Headquarters, and make your voices heard.

Don’t just praise Debbie (worthy of praise that she is), but DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE. CALL TODAY, TOMORROW, and the DAYS AFTERWARD.

Italkit on June 26, 2012 at 11:57 am

Maybe one day we’ll have people in government interested in preserving, protecting and defending our constitution and our laws. Until then, the SCOTUS ruling stands as a testament to those that believe in enforcing our laws. Clearly, the lesbian-in-charge does not.

Think the Poles are anti-semitic? Check out a couple of the restaurants in the Ukraine:

The first, “At the Golden Rose,” located right near the site of the Golden Rose Synagogue, which was destroyed by the Nazis with numerous Jews inside in 1941, offers its guests black hats like the ones worn by Hassidim, along with payot, and does not list the prices of the dishes on its menu, since Jews are expected to haggle over the (highly inflated) prices, a notorious anti-Semitic stereotype, very prevalent in Eastern Europe.

The second eating establishment is named Kryivka, or “Hiding Place,” and recreates a bunker used by Ukrainian ultranationalist “partisans,” who were allied with Nazi collaborator and Ukrainian hero Stefan Bandera, who actively participated in the murder of Jews in 1941. To enter, the password is “Glory to Ukraine,” but there is no room for Jews or other minorities in the Ukraine envisioned by Bandera’s modern-day followers.

These restaurants, however, are only the tip of the racist and anti-Semitic iceberg in Lviv, where there is almost no trace left of hundreds of years of Jewish history. The city’s most elegant hotel, the Citadel Inn, which hosts many guests for the Euro 2012 matches, was built on the site of the mass murder of tens of thousands of Jews and non-Jews.

FrenchKiss on June 25, 2012 at 5:45 pm

Can’t the supreme court slap DHS around for not upholding the part not stuck down?
This is getting dangerous! One of two things is going to happen first. AZ citizens are going to fight back, or Feds are going to pre-empt AZ citizens by sending unconstitutional northcom troops to round up patriots before anything happens.

Obama is a puss!

eric on June 25, 2012 at 6:07 pm

Napolitano’s actions seem to me to be part of a wider strategy by Obama. They follow Obama’s amnesty several days ago for large sections of illegal aliens, and also follow the widening of rights (privileges) for gays in the military.

The Democratic campaign seems in a general sense to be taking advantage of Romney’s cautious attitude, and of the attitude of the Republican ‘elite’ that the only issue is the economy. Obama realizes that there are other issues, and that Romney and his elite friends are very uncomfortable once the discussion extends past the economy.

It is to bad that Obama does not channel this aggression towards furthering the interests of the US nationally and internationally, but this is how it is. Quite likely it will win the election for him. It will certainly help him in the debates with Romney since the questions certainly will not be limited to the economy.

While of course I don’t agree with any of these initiatives by the Obamans, they are a smart move on his part, given the limited objective of winning the election, and to hell with anything else.

Little Al on June 25, 2012 at 6:50 pm

Janet Incompetano is a f***ing disgrace to America. She is hailed as “heroic” because she’s such a butch lezzer (who effing cares!!!!!!) yet she is so heinously incompetent at her job. She makes me so sick! (I do love when guys WITH deep manly voices mimic her by DEEPENING THEIR voice. It’s the funniest thing and cracks me up every time!!!)

I can’t imagine walking around with her grade of hubris but being so incompetent. I’d be so bloody ashamed.

But when you got dopey Liberals celebrating stupid gays JUST because they are gay, that is where the nausea becomes overwhelming. They are all dumbed down to equate being gay as meaning that one is “special”. It’s insulting and not true.

Like Ralph Maddow. I saw “Rolling Stone” did a long article on him and I just couldn’t expend my emotional currency on it today. When I feel like being annoyed I’ll try to read it. His following thinks he is so great but I have never seen a fraud like him (at a channel that is suppose to be so gay embracing) make himself look like the girl he isn’t *JUST* for his dumb show. What a fraud and sell-out! Yeah, I heard his weak answer to that question when he was on “fresh air” but a two day old baby wouldn’t have believed his lame excuse. Friggen’ fraud!

Skunky on June 25, 2012 at 6:56 pm

Have no fear! We have Mitt Romney!

Mark Levin just said, “The Republicans have zero leadership on this issue.”

Why do we have any immigration laws? Why do we have a Congress? Why do we have a Republican party?

BP: Mark Levin needs to look in the mirror. He has zero leadership on this issue also. He’s the one who continued to shill for Fred Thompson, when Thompson had open borders Spencer Abraham as his campaign manager. The hypocrite and fraud Levin said that was okay b/c he “needs him to win Michigan.” Don’t listen to anything Levin says b/c he’s exactly like those he criticizes. DS

It looks like B. Hussein Obama’s illegal uncle and auntie get to stay in the US for a while longer. I wonder how many more of his kin he will bring to America.

Jarhead on June 25, 2012 at 7:22 pm

Scalia understands what is going on when today he said “The US doesn’t WANT immigration law enforced”. By the way…the bullshit about felonies being the determining factor is ridiculous. ICE does not adjudicate cases, CIS does not have access to NN16 to check the criminal database and if it isn’t at a port-of-entry, CBP doesn’t know their rectums from their elbows. Felony convictions mean virtually nothing these days. We just don’t have the same measures in-place to catch criminals these days. I am thinking toward New Zealand because this country is done with.

Tasso on June 25, 2012 at 8:37 pm

Even though the Republicans (from Romney on down to Obama’s predecessor) are no better on the immigration issue, Obama is particuarly dangerous in this regard because of his alliances with open-borders extremist groups such as La Raza that have effectively been pulling the strings and setting his particular amnesty policy. It’s like every other “hot-button issue” where Obama’s stance is determined exclusively by the most radical elements out there.

ConcernedPatriot on June 25, 2012 at 8:40 pm

Thanks for reporting this, Debbie.

Now let me see if I can get this straight: Under Obama and probably also under Romney, it is and will be illegal to enforce the law against illegal immigration, and it will be the first illegality that will not be tolerated.

JeffE on June 25, 2012 at 9:46 pm

The executive branch enforces the law, it does not have the option of not enforcing laws it disagrees with.

Tanstaafl on June 25, 2012 at 11:27 pm

For anyone who has been following this issue I doubt the Obama admins position is much of a surprise.
American citizens are nothing more than collateral damage to the forces of illegal immigration and the PC believers. Cannon fodder in an idealogical war and we’re losing.

Systolic on June 26, 2012 at 12:54 am

And everything is just peachy at ICE? Pure b.s! I remember right before the merger EVS talked about how great this was gonna be for all of us! This was while we were in Arizona! What a f****ed up agency, system, attitude it is here!! Unbelievable! Well time for Priceless and EVS to get on here and spin up the propoganda machine! Woo hoo! LMAO!

notanEVSfan on June 26, 2012 at 10:00 am

I wish someone at ICE had some balls, besides Napolitano, and would take a stand on this. But most in the government are afraid to do this for fear of losing their jobs. To hell whether it’s right or not. However, it does give agents a chance to work money and dope cases since they now don’t have to drop everything to do round-ups.

WilliamMunny on June 26, 2012 at 10:55 am

If a workable system among the border states could be created, perhaps all those illegals could be bussed to D.C.. Maybe even set up tents for them on all the lawns, parks, etc.. I know it is not reality, but it would be great.

Joel-Confederate Son on June 26, 2012 at 1:08 pm

Thank you Obama. Thank you for stopping some of the ridiculous illegal immigration laws. I’ll never understand why illegal immigration is such a bad thing. Our country is built ontop of it. People that don’t like illegal immigration are just rich white people who want everything for themselves. Do you want to know why immigrants come here? Because they want a better life. They’re getting murdered every day by drug-traffickers. And where are the drugs going? To you. If you really are good

If you really are good people then why do we not allow these immigrants to stay and have the chance at a better life? This is the future so get you heads out of the past. There’s nothing one blog or a few comments trashing Obama can do to stop the fact that America is no longer ruled by white people. Seriously! We have a black president! Sorry to say but if you don’t like the fact that deportation is starting to end then you might want to leave now before things start to change. This is just the beginning.

    Support Oloser,

Illegals like the previously deported illegal that was arrested by a Houston police officer for a driving infraction (probably no insurance or license) and shot the officer to death while sitting in the patrol car?

Or how about this poor guy just looking to better his life. A Houston Police officer, working a drunk driving accident, yep, caused by a drunk illegal, probably looking to better her life, was hit by, yep, another drunk illegal who should have been deported for several prior incidents. Liberals don’t care about ALL the collateral damage done by these “poor” illegals. I won’t get into the financial hardship caused by them, ask anyone from that wonderful communist state of California.

WilliamMunny on June 26, 2012 at 2:31 pm

Support, I think we should evict the illegals and put out the welcome mat for legals from Western Europe. That’ll reverse the “browning” pronto. We will never have to deal with illegal creeps like you again who hate white people. Love, sk

The ICE leadership should inform the Obama administration that it is not within the administration’s authority to determine which laws are enforced and to stipulate how those laws are enforced. If the administration does not like a law then it should go to Congress and ask that the laws be changed or nullified.

If the administration is going on this path, then just get rid of ICE, as ICE does pretty much nothing. The government can realize a huge savings by terminating the agency. As CBP needs CBP Officers (Inspectors), the ICE personnel can be converted to CBP (CBP has higher qualification standards than ICE, so there will have to be one time waiver).

King David on June 26, 2012 at 9:28 pm

ICE won’t do anything because top-down it is running scared. Outside of the Beltway, morale is zeroed and everyone jokingly states that ICE is now an arm of the Obama re-election campaign. It’s all a charade of enforcement to make the rubes feel the US is doing something. Just punch the time card and get paid. The aliens have won.

My understanding is that Rachel Maddow is lesbionic’s nephew. Figures.

Here’s the thing Deberino, when lesbionic was our governor she kept complaining that the federal govt wouldn’t help us with border enforcement and that her hands were tied without federal help. Now look at her! She’s the one in charge of ICE now!!

DONT BOTHER COMING HOME LESBIONIC WHEN OBUMMER LOSES THE ELECTION!

Wow. In this era of tight budgets, now Morton has his own security details of GS-13 and GS-14 agents on detail to DC. Guess there’s no more crime to fight in illegal immigration.
