UK Sun, Telegraph Attack Schlussel for Exposing Boy Band Jihad; Fraud Zuhdi Jasser Defends Jihad

By Debbie Schlussel

UK’s The Sun (one of the most unreliable newspapers on the planet–and that’s saying a lot since it’s a newspaper to begin with) and The Daily Telegraph are both upset that I wrote about Zayn Malik, the Muslim member of the boy band, “One Direction,” who is using his position of influence for jihad, for proselytizing Islam to young girls. Muslims, who’ve been sending me death threats and the most vile anti-Semitic attacks, don’t like me telling the truth either. Neither do Malik’s “classy” parents, who’ve sent me obscenity-laden tweets on Twitter and One Direction’s low-class, young female fans who have sewers for mouths. And you know who agrees with them that Malik’s jihad is acceptable and praiseworthy? The phony “moderate” Muslim Mohammed Zuhdi Jasser a/k/a “M. Zuhdi Jasser,” the man who is constantly pimped on us by FOX News, Frank Gaffney, Daniel Pipes, and the Clarion Foundation–none of whom will publicly admit that Islam is a threat–as a good man. I guess they overlooked the fact that Jasser of Arabia claims most Muslims are peaceful because they don’t attend mosques (one has nothing to do with the other) and who pimped the world on the “virtues” of Muslim democracy, including in Egypt. Or that he defended the extremist Minneapolis-area imam who recruited young Somalian Muslims to become homicide bombers. I’ve already told you what a fake Jasser is and how he constantly gives a nod and a wink to jihad.

Mohammed Z. Jasser Praises One Direction Singer Zayn Malik’s Jihad of Proselytizing Islam to Your Kids

As you read this, note that The Sun refuses to even mention my main concern with Malik–that he’s proselytizing Islam and Islamic conversion to young girls and implying they could date him if they convert. And The Telegraph lies about what Malik said on Twitter. As I noted, he re-tweeted an Islamic extremist account’s tweet, then tweeted in Arabic that there is no god but allah and that Mohammed is his only prophet–a dig to all other religions. And after that he tweeted that he doesn’t have a girlfriend, implying that his stupid young female fans have a chance to fill that slot if they engage in Islamic practices. Mohammed Zuhdi Jasser thinks that’s okay. Oh, and by the way, let’s hear it for The Sun’s “objective” journalism, with Pete Samson–who is supposed to be reporting, not writing an opinion piece or commentary–declaring in the stories first sentence that my post on Malik is “outrageous.” HAMAS CAIR’ll tip ya later, Pete. Figures, since he lives and works in the United Kingdom of Islamistan, where all of the media is basically Al-Jazeera with an English accent. Neither paper links to my post because they don’t want their readers to read what I actually wrote and why this Malik character and his band are so dangerous to the world’s young daughters.

From The Sun:

1D’s Zayn branded a ‘pimp’ for Islam
By PETE SAMSON
Published: Today at 01:28

ONE Direction star Zayn Malik has been accused of “enticing jihad” and “pimping Islam” to young female fans in an outrageous online attack.

Right wing blogger Debbie Schlussel warned parents to “keep their daughters away” from the British boyband, currently on a sell-out US tour.

The American claimed Zayn, 19, had posted tweets for fans about Ramadan and Allah.

She ranted: “The scary thing is that millions of girls in America and around the world are infatuated with the members of One Direction, including Malik.

“He knows the power he has over these mindless girls and is using that influence to preach the Islamic faith. It’s dangerous.”

She even blasted Zayn for wearing a keffiyeh — a cotton scarf — which she called “official garb of Islamic terrorism”.

Schlussel ended the blog with: “Keep your daughters away from Zayn Malik’s enticing jihad.

“With the boy band One Direction, it’s all about pimping Islam amid the deceptive visage of angelic, effeminate boys in a band.

“Yup, for them there is definitely One Direction: facing Mecca.”

But US Muslim campaigner Zuhdi Jasser rejected her wild claims about Zayn.

He said: “All the power to him to be respectful to his faith.”

US screenwriter Wajahat Ali added: ”What we have seen in the last 10 years is that you can be an artist who is Muslim and can be practicing and doing art that is inspired by your beliefs, but does not have to be overtly Islamic or using religious language.

“A guy like Zayn Malik can really help open those minds and convey that as a generation we are moving ahead.”

HUH? How is preaching that the only god is allah and that Mohammed is his only prophet, “not” being overtly Islamic or using religious language? It’s in fact very overt, which is why the “screenwriter” and the phony Jasser like him. “Open minds”? Uh, that’s code for proselytize for Islam. They clearly know he’s pimping Islam on the world’s young girls. And they give that the halal seal of approval.

From The Daily Telegraph:

One Direction singer Muslim Zayn Malik ‘enticing jihad’ and a ‘pimp for Islam’ by US right-wing blogger Debbie Schlussel

The Daily Telegraph, June 20, 2012 7:15PM

A SINGER of boy band sensations One Direction has been accused of “enticing jihad” and “pimping Islam in an online attack.

Zayn Malik, a Muslim who has a Pakistani father and an English mother, has been accused of “enticing jihad” and “pimping Islam” to young female fans in an online attack.

Right wing blogger Debbie Schlussel, an attorney and political commentator, warned parents to “keep their daughters away” from the British Irish boyband, currently on a sell-out US tour, The Sun’s website reported.

The American claimed Zayn, 19, had posted tweets for fans about Ramadan and Allah. In June 2012, Malik tweeted, “La ila ha ill lalla ho muhammed door rasoolalah”, which is a common declaration of faith among Muslims meaning: “There is no god but God and Mohammad is the prophet of God.”

Schlussel ranted: “He knows the power he has over these mindless girls and is using that influence to preach the Islamic faith. It’s dangerous.”

She even blasted Zayn for wearing a keffiyeh, a cotton scarf, which she called “official garb of Islamic terrorism”.

But US Muslim campaigner Zuhdi Jasser rejected her claims about Zayn.

“All the power to him to be respectful to his faith,” he said.

Yup, all the power to him in his jihad. That’s the real Mohammed Zuhdi Jasser. Don’t be fooled by his attempts to hide his first name or his real views on Islam. He’s already slipped up repeatedly, like when he called Israel, “the occupied territories.”

Why is it that this pop star is the only one who is trying to convert his fans to his religion, according to your logic. I saw Justin Bieber the other day and he wore a necklace with a large cross on the end. Does this mean he is preaching to his huge fanbase – probably as large as Zayn Malik’s fanbase, if not larger – of ‘mindless girls’ to convert to Christianity? Is he pimping Christianity to the ‘stupid girls’ you speak of, just as Zayn Malik is doing with Islam? How can this young 19 year-old boy be the only one targeted when so many celebrities express their values and beliefs through social networking. He is simply exercising his freedom of speech that we are granted in modern society today. Yes, he may have made the statement on Twitter that he believes Allah is the only God, but not once did he ever provide the idea that any of his fans should take on this belief of his, or support him whatsoever. There has never been any evidence documenting Malik’s desire to influence his fans to agree with him, as you claim. He was simply stating what was on his mind, as is the purpose of Twitter and other websites such as this. This is an illogical argument with hardly any evidence to back it up. It’s just your way of projecting your racism and pure dislike for this religion on one innocent teenager who has risen above and proven that it is possible for all kinds of people to be successful.

Sana on June 23, 2012 at 4:06 pm

I have many things to say to you however because I was taught to up hold certain values such as treating everyone with the same level of respect as I except in return I will only leave the polite things:
1. Your blog has little or no factual basis to it other than the fact this artist is muslim. He has never (to my knowledge) supported islamic extremists groups nor actively advocated their cause. Thus your article is basis-less and just a racist attempt at a moral panic.
2. The fact that you published a blog which to all purposes is nothing more than an islamophobic rant shows that you are ignorant of what you talk of. From this ignorance breeds more prejudices thus creating more ammunition for theses (the extremist) groups. Therefore it’s isn’t surprising how the ethnic minority and the rest of rational society has reacted in the way that it has. The 1st amendment may protect freedom of speech but it does not endorse intolerant behaviour. That isn’t what the founding fathers wanted it to be used for.
3.It is quite rich for you to say that the sun and the telegraph are (and I quote) “one of the most unreliable newspapers on the planet–and that’s saying a lot since it’s a newspaper to begin with” since your article was just as or even worse than those “newspapers”.
Overall you purposely scapegoating an entire religion and ethic group biased on some idiotic prejudice which isn’t verifiable. Not every Muslim is an extremist in the same way not every Brit likes tea or every Australian likes to surf. Stereotypes never real for every white swan there are a million brown and black swan.(See Poppers black swan theory). It just shows how completely and utterly informed you are ( Can’t help compare it to 1930s Third Reich or Tsarist Russia in the late 19th century). Britain advocates a multicultural society with a mutual respect for different religions and traditions and when you attack that you have to expect the consequences. Anyone with half a brain will see through you and your offensive message.

Never again. on June 23, 2012 at 5:28 pm

Oh good grief, Never again, you’re doing it again–and please leave Popper out of it.

Islam deserves the same level of respect that nazism does. The big difference is that Mo was a far better military strategist than Adolf. This is not racism but truth. The problem is the ideology of Islam. That some boyband member doesn’t personally (so far as we know) go around killing people does not mean that the ideology that he advances is any less pernicious.

By the way, of you were taught civility, you should also have been taught that hinting that you would like to be uncivil is itself uncivil.

Now go read about Islam before it it’s too late.

skzion on June 24, 2012 at 5:34 pm

Such a writer does not know anything about Muslims. All Muslims are not terrorists.Keffiyeh is an accessory only. It puts those in non-Muslim. You can see the same in the other celebrities. For example, Taylor Momsen, rihanna, hillary duff, katie holmes … Why one Muslim terrorist when wearing Keffiyeh is going on? God forgive you.

Hatice on June 23, 2012 at 5:34 pm

So, i think this is the most stupid thing i ever read. Serously, i mean, why you think ‘stupid girls’ are gonna do it? The fan-base is not that stupid.

I was considering making a comment on this whole in-Zayn tempest in a pisspot. But lo and behold there were 492 comments on Debbie’s post.

So I’m putting in comment 493.

To be fair, as an agnostic, I couldn’t care less if Zayn likes his dates to be Muslima, but I do draw the line of having religion – any religion – shoved down people’s throats.

There are better ways of saying that Zayn’s comments in Twitter were a bit patronizing. Debbie – who is in fact a bright woman and no blonde bimbo – should have worded her comments better. But given the reaction to some of her posts in the past few weeks, I wouldn’t be too surprised if she struck back harder than usual.

In fact, my own reaction was, “Well whatever. The girls don’t’ care about religion – they care about the dark meat, okay?” Life goes on.

But 492 comments – most of them against the poster of said article? God Damn It!

What the hell detonated your tampons or put your teeny weeny peenies in a knot to spend all that effort against ONE PERSON WITH AN OPPOSING VIEWPOINT?

It isn’t as if she’s advocating that Muslims be washed with Zyklon B before getting tossed into ovens.

It isn’t as if One Infection – no, Insurrection – no, Erection – oh, DIRECTION – is being touted as the 5 Horsemen of the Apocalypse, ready to take young impressionable females as sex-slaves and sacrifices to Cthulu. For one thing, Cthulu is not into that sort of thing (at least He told me so).

But trying to defend Zayn’s honour in such a way that you’re doing as if your PMS has gone into full nuke meltdown is not doing anyone any favours. You’re not helping Zayn, you’re not helping One Obsesson, you’re not helping yourselves.

I’m not telling you not to be upset with Debbie Schlussel – hell, it’s cool to disagree with her once in a while – please try not to do it with a clear head and without any calls for her decapitation.

Personally, there is no God, no Allah. End of story. Enjoy your life. Don’t waste your youth.

The Reverend Jacques on June 24, 2012 at 7:53 pm

U mad. Its not cool to racially disagree with muslims. Little girls are either too stupid and need to go to a mental institute or need better lives. All her reasons are in no way proven therefore she deserves all the hate! How is La illaha illallah a militant saying. For christians is saying thank you GOD a militant saying? She doesnt understand what it means neithet is she right, but allah is our god just like christians only believe in one and only god so by saying that its very controversial and once gain she will find hate when acting in an immature way.

Naz on July 9, 2012 at 10:24 am

Reverend jacques, I’d firstly like to say the fact that she says such rubbish about a kid who wants to sing and have some fun, makes her a bimbo, and not bright at all. She deserves all the hatred she got because she is also spreading rumours and lies about a kid who had nothin to do with her. She must be threatened by him being the hottest kid out of all them. Which makes sense because shes a Muslim hating Zionist.
I still have to finish off my thoughts about her though, shes the biggest douchebag, goose, Psycho stuck up female ummmmmmm animal to be more sophisticated. She just sparked lots of negative attention towards her and has made herself look like the biggest fool in front of the whole world muslims and non Muslims. And by the what she defines jihad to be, she has just done with her foul words. Despicable! And people have the balls to complain that others are sickened by her comments!

Yomna on June 25, 2012 at 12:15 am

FYI …in indonesia most people blame CHRISTIANS for this kind of shit… i don;t know why many people just crazy for what u call “RELIGION” ..

nicole on June 25, 2012 at 12:32 am

Before I answer Yomna (that was my paternal Grammy’s name) – a CLARIFICATION

I’m not telling you not to be upset with Debbie Schlussel – hell, it’s cool to disagree with her once in a while – I’m just asking you to please do it with a clear head and without any calls for her decapitation.

It’s hard to edit yourself when you’re stressed.

Now, right back @ Yomna…

When I post this, we will be 4 posts closer to 500.

Ask yourself this: do you personally feel threatened by some blonde Jewish woman stating an opinion about a boy-band member’s religious statement?

Would you feel threatened if I, as a person who doubts the existence of a phantom deity, were to say that Zayn was being a bit too douchey by pimping his religion, regardless to which god he prays?

As much as I disagree with Debbie’s overreaction to Zayn’s tweets, I wouldn’t go far as issuing a fatwah on her head like some Directioners have done (Debbie has retweeted these twit-threats to us followers).

The only difference between Debbie Sclussel and the Directioners calling for her beheading/burning at the stake is that Debbie has thicker skin. She’ll kvetch about some stupid thing that should never have been done in the first place, then move on. Kind of like that opinionated aunt who complains about everything under the sun and blaming these problems on Freemasons, Muslims, Jews, Xtians, extraterrestrials, God, PETA…

So maybe you should just simply shrug your shoulders and get on with living. You and only you know what’s good and bad. Only you can make up your mind about who to follow and not to follow. Read what you have just posted. Many Xtian and Jewish artists have endured ridicule about their faith but they don’t cry and whinge about having their feelings hurt. Why should Muslims be any different?

As I mentioned before, I doubt that some all-seeing, all-knowing phantom exists who would will people to do his bidding. Don’t let Debbie get to you when she says something that’s disagreeable – you have better things to do. Like homework.

Do What Thou Wilt, So Mete It Be. @jacquattack on Twitter

Why must you be so terrible? You are a terrible woman and there is nothing more that I can say to describe you. I definatley hope you will read this.
I follow the beliefs of Islam. I believe that you do not research before you write. Cover your head for one day and you will be suprised how much better you will feel. You should not put down a religion because it is not what you belive. It is not your place to judge. It is His. So Just know that I live in peace as do many muslims.
What you are doing is going to start a fire that no man will be able to put out. This is why there is a majority who do not live in peace. People like you do not allow it.

Naz on July 9, 2012 at 10:08 am

Hello. You have said that he tweeted in Arabic that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his only prophet. First, you changed the word ‘last’ to ‘only’. Muslims do not believe Muhammad was the only prophet, they believe he was the last. They also believe in Adam, Moses, Noah, Jesus and all the other prophets. Second the word ‘Allah’ is just god in Arabic and Muslims believe in the same god as all other monotheistic abrahmic religions. For example, the bible was first written in Hebrew and the Hebrew word for god was ellah. Does that mean ellah and god are two different things? No, it’s the same thing in two different languages. If you say what you have said you are saying that the original bible does not believe in god because it doesn’t use the word ‘god’ but instead the word ‘ellah’. Now you see how ludacris your proposal sounds. Please learn more about Islam and even your own religion from a reliable-non anti site/people/books. Thank you.
Please stop being ignorant.

Also, the reason it is written like ‘there is no god but god’ is to emphasize that there is only one god.since in that time and in that place they believed in many gods, and idols. Also I retread the Arabic and it’s actual definition is that there is no god but god and Muhammad is his messenger. (not his only messenger but one of/last)

You have such a foul mouth. You look old, but you’re sure not mature!

So, who else is fasting this Ramadan besides Zayd? LOL

Lets all fast and praise All-Mighty God for all blessings he bestowed upon us.

Lets also pray for Peace and for Guidance for people like Debbie so they use their skills to promote harmony, forgiveness and peace rather than hate and conflict. The latter will not achieve anything positive for either sides. History is too painful and the blame game will never end unless people decide to end it and to start fresh.

P.S. I like my keffiyeh scarf! Does it make me a terrorist? What a shock! LOL

Considering that the only thing I’ve seen from his defenders in the comments here is hate, you are rather making the point for Debbie.

You pride yourself right with your religion. And you wrote in blog. What zayn forbid you? No! Who you are! You’re not zayn’s family.. Don’t talk about what you unknow separately.. Sok tauu…

It really upsets me that people have this kind of opinion on Islam even though it is the religion of Peace. Past events have just changed the image of Muslims but that does not mean that every single one of us is a ‘terrorist’?! Seriously Zayn was just expressing himself, he’s not some crazy dude trying to convert his female fans, Islam isn’t the only thing he tweets or talks about and all he said were a few things about islam and suddenly theres a whole hate article about him? And he was chosen for 1D because he’s TALENTED, if they wanted to keep a muslim face in the band there are loaaaadsss of muslims in the UK, why didn’t they choose one of them? You’re saying that his female fans have ‘sewer’ mouths, well its a bit ironic to say that isn’t it? I’m a British- Pakistani Muslim too and i can clearly tell that you have no clue about Islam and just posted what you felt like without actually doing any research or getting your facts straight. ‘La ila ha ill lalla ho muhammed door rasoolalah’ is not an ‘extremist’ comment at all. And the scarf he was wearing is actually a trend not a weird symbol for anything, its common in arab countries but it still doesn’t have anything to do with terrorism, sooo many non-muslim celebs have worn these scarfs what do you say to that? I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but your words have hurt muslims everywhere, including me, and i’m not going to call you names and curse at you but don’t expect muslims not to when you’ve written all that about us. Zayns fans are not dumb they won’t change their faith just because of a boy, it’s not a simple or easy thing to do either so i don’t think girls would just go around switching faith. He said he didn’t have a gf, but i have no idea how your mind actually came to the conclusion that he’s saying that ‘if you convert i’ll date you’ LOL. Islam is not dangerous, posting little tiny tweets about Islam is not dangerous, he’s not being violent or aggressive he makes an effort to communicate with all his fans, whats wrong with that? He’s harmless and i don’t think he’s some evil mastermind who’ll just try to trick his fans, he shows a lot of respect and loves them very much. I think the other muslims posting here should cool down and reply without cursing and threats because that would only encourage the impression this woman has on us so be patient please i know its hard 🙂 i go out of my way to not step on an ant. we’re not all bad please understand and stop with all the hate, bad people are everywhere but that doesn’t mean we should judge the rest of the people in the religion they belong to.
