Happy Passover – Freedom From Slavery & Happy Easter

By Debbie Schlussel

To my Jewish friends and readers, I wish you a Happy Passover. As I will be out on Sunday for Passover, I wish a Happy Easter to my Christian friends and readers.

Tonight at sundown, the Jewish holiday of Passover begins. We Jews celebrate our freedom from slavery in Egypt and also our eventual receipt of the Torah from G-d via Moses and Mount Sinai as well as our eternal land, Israel.

As I’ve noted many times on this site in the past, 80% of the Jews remained slaves in Egypt. Egypt Syndrome preceded the modern Stockholm Syndrome, as most of the Jews enjoyed their captivity of hard labor, gazillionth-class citizenship, and a lack of spirituality and faith in G-d. Today, we have our 80% in the Jews who voted for Obama, and many Jews on the right in the other 20% who refuse to give a critical look on the conservatives and Republicans, like Darrell Issa and others, who embrace Muslims and other enemies of the Jewish people–as the Republican Jewish Coalition has repeatedly done (along with the other Jew-haters this phony “Jewish” Republican group promotes, aids, and abets). They are just as guilty and enslaved in blind faith, rather than looking out for what’s in the best interests of America and the Jewish people, which is why we are left with two horrible choices in Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, neither of whom will be good on these and other important issues.

As I’ve noted, there are many Jewish people who are still slaves in Egypt mentally. They try desperately to please Jew-hating Muslims and anti-Semites. They are not proud of who they are. They’ve never been taught the beauty and spirituality of full observance of Judaism. And, thus, they will never be free.

I am proud I am not like them. Tonight, as with Jews around the world, I will participate in the Seder, the traditional Passover ceremonial feast, in which we remember not only what slavery in Egypt was like and what it was like to be freed, but also that there are those who would destroy the Jewish people in every generation, including this one. As I’ve noted on this site oh so many times, those people are now the Muslims that surround us and who seek to destroy not just the Jews, but also the Christians around the world (and Hindus and others). They are also my liberal fellow co-religionists and the liberal Christians who defend and promote these Muslims. To me, they are far worse because without them, we’d be able to defeat the problem. Yes, there are also fools like Pharoahbama. But like the ancient Pharoahs of Egypt, he and his ilk will disappear and new, even more dangerous bad actors will appear and do even more harm.

Tonight, I’ll also be celebrating my freedoms, including my free speech and to continue to bring you this site, as I celebrate Passover with the CAIR Action Network lawsuit against me hanging over my head and continued attempts by CAIR Action Network and other Muslims to silence me. I also have had, in the last couple of years, new Muslim death, rape, and torture threats, which the FBI “investigated” but which the politically correct Justice Department declined to prosecute. I’ll be posting more about that soon. Stay tuned.

Over the years, I’ve written about Passover many times in years past (see also here and here), and you can read even more details here, here, and here. I need not repeat them here, other than the Debbie’s Notes version: We celebrate Passover for 8 days. We hold two Seders (one in Israel)–one for each of the first two nights. We cannot eat bread or anything leavened for the entire eight days. We also can’t eat stuff that, back in the day (and currently) could be made into flour, like corn, many nuts, peas, beans, etc. We have to buy special food (I spent more in the last two days than I spend on food in more than a month), including special soda. Coke and Pepsi make us what is essentially the Mexican version of their soda pops, as it does not contain corn syrup. We can’t eat any food with corn syrup on Passover.

To my Jewish readers, I wish you a Happy and Kosher Passover. To my gentile readers, Happy Easter.

See you all back here on Sunday Night. Enjoy the holiday weekend.

Happy Passover! Happy Easter – the MOST IMPORTANT CHRISTIAN Day!

Chag Sameach!

Happy Passover to you DS, Debbie if CAIR is trying to silence you, violate and trample on you’re first amendment right, they’ll FAIL in any of their pathetic attempts to silence you, because in the past you’ve defeated those fifth column islamist pressure groups in US Courts, because this is the USofA, CAIR needs to be investigated, arrested for conspiraring against this country and kicked out of this country and move to either Gaza or the West Bank and work with their hamas brethren.

Anyway forgive me for getting a little carried away and standing on my soapbox about CAIR (one blogger calls them, “The CAIR-Bears), I hope you, you’re family and relative members have a Happy and peaceful Passover. And BTW, don’t do anything I wouldn’t do, lol!

Very insightful Debbie and so true! Have a happy and peaceful Passover. Please don’t worry about CAIR and their efforts to crush free speech with their trumped up lawsuit.

Endeavor to be happy.

Happy Easter to all the Christians out there too. Thank you for standing with Israel in these trying times.

Debbie I don’t think Romney is the greatest but nobody you or I really like will ever be elected, particularly since I only like you and you are too Jewish to be President. And if u were President we would only be able to have sex indoors son it’s not worth it. Still MR is 100x better than BHO, as he is not secretly plotting to enslave White people or let Muslims overrun Eretz Yisrael.

I hate Matzoh. My best advice is to have as much sex as you can before the festivities. Debbie outdoors on a moonlit night, gentle summer breeze, the perfume of lilac in the air…. Get my drift?

Happy Passover to all Jews and Happy Easter to all Christians here.

Chag Sameach to you an yours, Debbie.

Even though I don’t consider myself Halachically Jewish – let alone religious – I know this one unsettling truth:

In a world going to Hell in a chicken basket, THE JEWS STAND ALONE!

Thank G-D. Save a place for me at the Seder.

Oh… and Happy Easter to all the X-tians. Don’t eat all the chocolate.

Pesach was always the most important family holiday for us.

As a child and teenager I was fortunate to share a table with members of the family who had been Bielski Partisans.

At our Seder, we also commemorate a more recent struggle for freedom – during Passover of 1943 the Jews of Warsaw fought back against the Nazis using little more than pistols and bottles of gasoline. Instead of the three day “action” that the SS envisioned, it took almost a month to destroy the ghetto.

love your colums happy passover to you

martin potashner on April 7, 2012 at 11:55 am

Dear Debbie,

First let me wish you a blessed passover. Yet the Jews and the Egyptians always liked to live to gether. Nothing wrong with that. Remember Salomon married the daughter of Pharoh and they were allies for a long time. I guess they like each other. Even in the recent history many a Jew held a high office in the Royal palace. It is rumored that it was Eli Katevi who was the head of the protocol in the palace who came with the idea of the round table because all the seats around the table are equal. There is no head seat and side seats. SEcond when the Holy Family wanted to escaape from Herod they sought refuge in Egypt. And Egypt was hospitable to them . It is only that other Jew who claimed to be a messenger of G-d who filled the world with hate and acrimony. I think I mentioned once before that Muhammad was a Saduccee Jew who converted to Pharisee faith under pressure from his uncle Al-Abbas whose mother was a Jewess from Bani Al-naggar in Yathreb.

Please relay to all our Jewish brothers our wishes to them to have a blessed Pass Over. May the Lord spread his peace and love among us all.

Happy Passover to you and your family Debbie, and may the Living G-d protect you.

Mohammed was Jewish too?(Gamal R Sharoubim) Oy Vey?Hellp! One saying in my parents household used on me was: “you’re your own worse enemy”. Is this true are we are own worse enemy?
I have always said we created birthed two of our largest problems, Christianity and Islam. Two ungreatful children that like Cain and Abel cannot co-exist.Is Gamal correct? Say it aint so Joe!

Ron Wolf aka "Columbo" on April 7, 2012 at 10:34 pm

That is ungrateful not ungreatful forgive these old eyes. And Goot Pesach! as we would say in old Brooklyn. Happy Easter to our now new Christian allies. Next year in Jerusalem ( the fervent Jewish paryer of centuries).

Ron Wolf aka "Columbo" on April 7, 2012 at 10:44 pm

Chag Sameach Debbie.

Zelda on April 7, 2012 at 11:20 pm

As a Christian, thank you so much Debbie for the Easter wishes and I equally wish you a most blessed Passover.

Even though we have different beliefs, THIS is what true tolerance and respect is all about.

I have no statistics to prove my point, but most Christians I know are the most ardent supporters of Israel since our beliefs spring forth from the Jews.

Jeff_W on April 8, 2012 at 1:01 am

Enjoy Passover with your family. You’re the best, Debbie. Take care.

Ed H on April 8, 2012 at 10:43 am

I too, wish Debbie a Happy Passover, and I extend best holiday wishes to all the regular readers and contributors of Debbie’s blog.

One other irritating thing about the Jewish Republicans (I won’t even bother to discuss Jewish Democrats) is their social liberalism. They seem attracted like flies to ‘moderate’ Republicans, and clearly look down on those of us who are concerned with social issues, like abortion, illegal immigration, affirmative actions (with a couple of exceptions), and, increasingly, gay marriage. Fiscally conservative (although less and less, and more and more favoring increasing amounts of social redistribution), and socially liberal, without apology, and little to say about foreign policy.

Sad…..

Happy Passover Debbie – from your eBay admirer!

Hang tough against the Muslims. You are a bright light with great courage in a pc-world full of cowards. Because you remain true to the truth, you will always succeed. Keep up the great work!
