If they didn’t jail him after he got back, it testifies to the balagan – that’s Hebrew for a f*cked up beyond all recognition mess – in the French law enforcement and judicial system. By their own admission, they already screwed up when they kept Merah under supposed surveillance and allowed him to murder several innocent people. It was the French state’s incompetence and indifference that took several lives. That’s not to say we would have handled it any better. But this Islamic terrorist fell down as they say between two stools and the rest as they say, was history.

Even if we could have put him on a watch list and kept him from coming over here legally – though entering via the Mexican and Canadian border is another story – what would have kept this guy from attacking our troops in Afghanistan or Iraq? Excuse me, but who were the targets of those bombs?

Gerald has a good point re colonization. Remember Bush said correctly just after 9/11 that the “war on terrorism” would last decades. It would have, too, if carried out correctly, just as the cold war lasted for decades. And 19th & 20th century colonization was mixed. It had both adverse & beneficial impacts for African and Asian colonies. But this is, as Gerald says, the minimum that would have been needed. Shows what happens when we release these people. Either death or imprisonment for life is clearly needed.

I’ve been thinking more about it and I have a theory as to why there are horrific massacres in Europe.

We used to have that in this country in the 1980s and early 1990s and now in Europe.

What’s the common thread between them? Prohibitionist gun policies of course. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out when people aren’t allowed to defend themselves, its much more attractive for nutcases to gun down large numbers of people without penalty.

When states began liberalizing their gun laws in the past two decades, allowing for personal concealed weapons carry, spree killings virtually disappeared. Now its not that human nature changed. Not at all! But to potential killers, the calculation of what they could safely get away with did.

Now what I am getting at here is the Rabbi and his kids might still be alive today if it wasn’t for France’s prohibitionist gun policies. In all likelihood, Mohammed Merah might have looked for an easier target. We’ll never know for sure, its just a theory I put out here.

My conclusion? Guns DO save lives!

Norman & Gerald, colonizing any country w/ the intention of reforming it would be a tremendous amount of time & money, and require an occupying force that overwhelms the local population to the point that they can do anything – including conversion.

The only way to really reform any Muslim country is de-Islamize it. Only instance I can think of are the ex Soviet republics. There, centuries of Russian occupation followed by 70 years of Atheist Soviet rule all but stamped out Islam. Only problem here, since Islam was never replaced w/ another real religion, once Communism got discredited, it was the only candidate available to make a comeback. Uzbekistan, for instance, had the same sort of regime that Tunisia had as far as practise of Islam went. The day the current regime goes and there are free elections, don’t be surprised if Islamic parties like IMU come to power.

Even a post WWII Japan model, where aspects of Shintoism, such as Emperor worship, were abolished and banned, would be inadequate here. In Japan’s case, the US working to retain the Emperor’s sacred status, while ending his divine status, was one the Japanese could live w/, and so aside from the US troops stationed in Japan, not more were needed. But for any Muslim country, they’d have to stay there, close down every mosque and go agressively after everybody who practices Islam and force them to switch to a religion of their choice. That would be difficult enough even in moderately populated countries like Iran. Now, if one tries to do that for such heavily populated Muslim countries such as Pakistan, it will be simply impossible.

The only 2 real solutions would be either a genocidal war, which even in a wartime would be next to impossible to the West, or better yet, an iron veil. Bury John Doone’s poem under Mohammed’s tomb in Medina, and simply not care. End Muslim immigration to the West and deport all Muslims back to the closest Muslim country of origin, preferably Sowdi Barbaria. After that, end any contacts b/w Muslim countries and the rest of the world, and get all their non-Muslim minorities out of there. After that, within their borders, let them do all their FGFs, honor killings, mutiliations, stonings, taqfir based civil wars and what have you.

As for oil, buy what’s possible from non-Muslim countries – Nigeria, South Sudan, Russia, et al but seriously make the research into alternative energy for both commercial (power grids) and transportation purposes. Once an alternative is found, switch to that, and the demand for oil would go the way of the demand for the horse & buggy.

I am glad that that man met his demise. But, I would still say that the seige was an absurditity. If you have someone who has committed multiple murders and is not holding any hostages, you give them just one opportunity to surrender. If that offer is refused, the immediate use of lethal force is appropriate. It is not a time for negotiations, non-lethal capture raids(leading to injured officers), or outdoor explosions that might interfere with his sleep. In fact, our jihadist finally just committed suicide. That will only elevate the myth that will surround this creature. The chaotic French response to this incident will only encourage copycats who crave the attention and publicity for themselves and Islam. I do hope that there is an investigation.

There was mention in an article that this piece of excrement was despondent over not being able to enlist in the French Army and, after several misdemeanor arrests and attempts to have his sentences reduced through “community service”(?), he decided to take his wrath out against the French people.

What I found curious was the determination to take Merah alive so he could “face justice”. Well, he’s dead now, killed in a final shootout with police, so at least a measure of justice has been delivered. The country has been spared the expense of a trial and long-term incarceration, and he can never be offered up in exchange for some future French captives. But why the hesitation? Were they averse to taking the life of a Muslim, even after he’d taken seven other lives himself?
