SI Swimsuit Cover Model is Israeli Draft Dodger

By Debbie Schlussel
Bar Refaeli, the latest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover model, is being touted all over the place because she’s an Israeli.
But the important fact about her is not that she’s Israeli, but that she’s an Israeli draft-dodger and snob. Oh, and she’s a phony.
As readers know, I’ve written about Ms. Refaeli, who is Leonardo DiCrapio’s girlfriend (and it’s been rumored he got her the SI cover), and here are the important details:

[J]ust like Ted Nugent, she dodged the draft–and said something just a tad different, a year ago, about serving in the Israeli Army when she was asked about it by Israel’s Yediot Achronot.

Bar Refaeli: Beautiful Israeli Draft-Dodging Bitch

In Israel, everyone is required to either serve in the military or do national service. She didn’t, and she bragged about it, saying that was for the “little people.”

In her interview, the Israeli model said she was not against army service, even though she never enlisted, having married an acquaintance to evade the draft. The couple was soon divorced.
“I really wanted to serve in the IDF, but I don’t regret not enlisting, because it paid off big time,” she said. “That’s just the way it is, celebrities have other needs. I hope my case has influenced the army.”
“Israel or Uganda [DS: where she was modeling while fellow Israelis were risking their lives in the Army], what difference does it make? It makes no difference to me. Why is it good to die for our country? What, isn’t it better to live in New York? Why should 18-year-old kids have to die? It’s dumb that people have to die so that I can live in Israel,” Refaeli added.

Yup, Israeli soldiers were blown to bits and/or tortured and cut up to bits by Hezbollah, HAMAS, and assorted other Muslims so that Bar Refaeli could have a modeling career?
She does have a point that it’s dumb that people have to die so that she can live in Israel. No-one should die for this selfish, ugly bitch hidden behind a hot body and a nice outer visage.
The problem here is that Israel no longer takes its mandatory two-year military service requirement seriously enough. . . when it comes to celebrities. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s son was a draft-dodger. Didn’t hurt him much.
But for the little people–the common, working-class Israelis, many of whom come from Arabic countries and Ethiopia and many of whom are religious Jews and the vilified “settlers,” who are the ones who actually serve in the Israeli Army–if you don’t do your service, you get arrested when you return to Israel. And without a certificate noting you did your service and were honorably discharged, it’s nearly impossible to get hired for a job.
If Israel had any guts and any will to survive, it will arrest and jail people like Bar Refaeli. But, instead–just as we honor American draft dodger celebrities, like Pat Buchanan and Ted Nugent–Israel honors this selfish, draft-dodging supermodel snob.
Israelis shouldn’t be feeling an ounce of pride over this woman. Bar Refaeli is an Israeli embarrassment.
I have just one thing to say to Ms. Refaeli, in her native tongue: Lech Le’Azazel (Go. To. Hell.)

And she’s also the girlfriend of Global Freezing denier, Leonardo Di Crapio?
That makes sense.
Usually morons and feces get together to form the coalition of shitheads.
And you usually find them in Hollywood.
Israelis or not, Jews or not, it doesn’t matter.
Shitheads have no religion and no country.

Pat Buchanan is an honored American.
Guess I’ve been going to the wrong information outlets, I keep hearing/reading that he’s an asshat.

Richard on February 11, 2009 at 4:12 pm

that first statement of mine really, really needed to be followed by a question mark – so no one misunderstands.

Richard on February 11, 2009 at 4:13 pm

She is beautiful–too bad she’s so stupid.
Pat Buchanan has ahem, issues. I don’t think he would have lasted long in the services if he had joined up.

lexi on February 11, 2009 at 4:24 pm

She’s a swimsuit model-intellegence is not important.

mindy1 on February 11, 2009 at 7:05 pm

I don’t know whether stupid, narcissistic traitors are attracted to professions whether they can attain celebrity, or whether the fact of being a celebrity brings out the worst in some people. Probably some of both.
Rafaeli is disloyal to Israel just as so many American celebrities are disloyal to the US, support the enemy, and ridicule patriotic Americans.
As I’ve said before, we need another Joe McCarthy, and so does Israel. Joe’s counterparts in HUAC were sickened by the traitors in Hollywood, just as they were by the traitors in the State Department. It would be too much to hope that a political leader will arise in Israel who will go after all the traitors there who are harming the Jewish people for their own short-term personal gain. What does this person think would happen to her in an Arab country? Narcissist that she is, she probably thinks she would slide by on personal charm.

Got any dirt on Golda Mier???
Israel is in the midst of one of its most important elections ever: http://blogs.jta.org/telegraph/article/2009/02/11/1002924/in-the-aftermath-of-israeli-elections and YOU care about some swimsuit bimbo. And of course your sycophantic goosestepping audience don’t realise how much a NON story this is!

EminemsRevenge on February 11, 2009 at 9:27 pm

Let’s face it; important election in Israel, but the Government there will kowtow to Hussein no matter who wins. Netanyahu is on record as saying he’d rather form a right-center government than a rightist government. Now what does that mean? So, imporotant events, but unlikely that any outcome will prevent Israel bowing to Hussein. So, on to the next story.
Culture is intensely important to society. If someone doubts that, just look at how the PC cultural influence in this country over the last few decades has corrupted all of our institutions, including political ones such as the Government. That’s one of the problems today — short-sighted tunnel vision, and inability to see the wider implications of day-to-day events.

Israel’s election is about as important as ‘the war on Hamas’. Not very. As usual you are right, Debbie. Shockingly right. “We’ll lean this way and then we’ll lean that way…We’ll say this for a week and then next week we’ll say something else.” Multi-party coalition democracies have an inherent self-destruct mechanism – endlessly compromising everything into shmooze and spin and mutual back-scratching.

poetcomic1 on February 11, 2009 at 11:08 pm

You should put a “censored” band over her crotch, Debbie. She is gorgeous–and this is semi-pornographic.
I understand your point, but I think women should not be in the (ordinary) military anyway–perhaps in some support roles, that’s it. That doesn’t excuse her from draft dodging, it’s just how I view the topic in general.

BB on February 11, 2009 at 11:14 pm

Thank you for writing that, Debbie. As I’m sure you know, SPORTS ILLUSTRATED is owned by TIME/Warner/CNN. Those guys HATE Israel!
There is simply no way TIME/Warner/CNN would have put a patriotic Israeli on the cover of SI’s swimsuit issue. No friggin’ way!

I’m glad you’re patriotic and all. However, I don’t believe in war. I definately don’t believe in the draft. This chick’s statements are definately bitchy and dishonor all veterans of war. However, I can’t stand people using the memory of unfortunate deaths of brave soldiers to generate hatred of those who don’t believe in war and don’t support the use of violence. Keep thinking that “Freedom isn’t free”, and you will never have true freedom.

pattyblogblog posts: ..”Keep thinking that “Freedom isn’t free”, and you will never have true freedom.”
Hey Patty, YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. This may be the falsest statement ever made, EVER.
Thankfully, our heritage of is brave soldiers who have paid the ultimate price so you could hold such an asinine view. Get a clue.

BB on February 12, 2009 at 7:44 am

Right on Debbie. This piece of drek is one selfish bitch. If the GOI had balls, they’d cart her off to jail.

EminemsRevenge:
Why do you call us a “sycophantic goosestepping audience”? Speaking for msyelf, I can assure you that’s not true. It would be laughable were it not for all the Nazi analogies being hurled at Israel and its supporters these days by anti-Semites. I have a feeling you know that. It would be one explanation for why you used that expression.
pattyblogblog:
I wasn’t struck too hard by Bar Rafael’s draft-dodging at first. Debbie wrote about it before. However, when she became the poster child for one of the most overtly anti-Israel news organizations in the USA, that raised a red flag in combination with the draft dodging. I think Debbie is onto something and as time goes on we’ll find more evidence of Israel-hating sentiment (not mere narcissism) from Bar Rafael.
BTW, you DO know that without a strong armed force, Israel and it’s 6 million Jews would be dead by now. Don’t you?

Why is it sooooo difficult for commentators here to resist trolls like EnemasRevenge???

Have you no willpower,sir???????????

This is really shameful and a really dangerous trend for ANY free society. To quote the Commie
Gramsci ” First you destroy their culture, and
only then the political institutions”. They have
done that in England, on the way in the US and the
virus has spread to Israel. Israel cannot survive
if Jews won’t fight for it – an original thought !
To cf : I don’t know who you are but I can see you
are well read on the McCarthy Era – and exactly right. In case you don’t know – the latest book
on the subject “Blacklisted By History” by M.Stanton Evans will back you up. Right On !
To billy bob – exactly right. Why respond by
groveling and trying to justify yourselves to
anyone calling Jews Nazis ? You are playing their
game !!! On this site, you just ignore them.

Hawkins on February 12, 2009 at 9:51 am

Mmmmmmmmm, she can dodge my draft anytime.

ìThis is really shameful and a really dangerous trend for ANY free society. To quote the Commie
Gramsci ” First you destroy their culture, and

Actually, I said absolutely no such thing. You need to look up ëCultural hegemonyí some time.
Oh, and I was absolutely NOT a Communist, I was a Marxist.
(Though I suspect you will be one of those knuckle dragging morons who says ìWell duh, whatís the difference?î etc.)

Antonio Gramsci on February 12, 2009 at 11:49 am

Ironic for AG to call others ‘morons’ when this person cannot use proper grammar. Probably a dumbed down product of PC schools. Of course Gramsci was in favor of fighting patriotic culture in order to help bring down society, but his anti-American followers naturally try to obscure this.
Yes, the book by M. Stanton Evans is a classic. Ironically, the attack on the book by pseudo-conservatives helps show that they are really closet liberals. It would be great if someone made a sympathetic movie about Joe McCarthy and his quest to purge America’s enemies from Government and public life.*

c f on February 13, 2009 at 1:16 am

RE : cf ! I am stunned that you are unable to
appreciate the brilliant intellect of AG ( he’s a Marxist, not a Communist !” Only the brightest
among us are able make such distinctions. They,
of course, become the “vanguard of society”, shortly before they end up in the “dust bin of history”.

Hawkins on February 13, 2009 at 10:32 am

By the cringe, you people are dim.

Antonio Gramsci on February 13, 2009 at 2:57 pm

BB: Regarding the quote “Freedom isn’t Free.” I simply dislike the use of that term as a way to promote war and even the concept that our government has been involved in wars for the cause of freedom. The materials in which I’ve seen that phrase have all served the end of justifying imperialistic wars. Yes, I do believe that we have to fight for our God given human liberties against oppressive governments. However, the phrase “Freedom isn’t free.” is used as a war cry to justify the deaths of our men and women who bravely served at the behest of a profiteer government “Offense” Department. The phrase itself is as true and as valid as it gets, so BB, you are right, and I was wrong. I did not get my point across that I simply despise the way it is used to justify us going into foreign lands for no reason other than profit. Why do we have military bases in 130 out of 160 countries on this globe? Military is for Defense. When exactly BB is the last time you can remember that we used it for such. Defense should not be used to defend “our interests” in other lands. What are those interests exactly because its not freedom and its not Democracy. A Democracy in and of itself gains the people nothing. A large amount of money can get a vote anytime and anywhere. Civil liberties are what need to be protected, far more than the right to vote. We shold be protecting our own Constitution rather than worrying about laws in foreign lands. You should youtube Pat Tillman’s brother as he speaks to Congress about how upset he was that politicians were glorifying Pat Tillman’s wrongful death to gain sentiment for themselves and our “Offense” Department. Support Bill HR-1207 to audit The Federal Reserve if you want real freedom
