When Your Fave “Mexican” Restaurant is Really a Muslim Illegal Alien Haven
I’ve warned on this site many times before to know where you eat and shop: who owns it and are they likely to donate the money you spent there to Islamic terrorism or “charity” front groups for that, extremist mosques and Muslim schools, etc. And then there’s another reason not to eat or shop there: the business might be harboring Muslim and/or other illegal aliens. That’s the case with Salsalito, a San Antonio, Texas Mexican restaurant owned by Muslim, Hossein Bagheri. Mr. Bagheri employed plenty of illegal aliens, but got just probation and a fine for his crime. It’s interesting that his Mexican employees took the fall for what he clearly was orchestrating, to avoid paying full wages to American citizen employees. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents worked hard on this case, and the Obama federal prosecutors went soft on him.
The guilty plea of an employer who admitted hiring illegal workers — in the only such prosecution in San Antonio in at least the past decade — has resulted in a five-year probation sentence and a $750,000 fine.
In July, Hossein Bagheri, 50, entered guilty pleas in federal court on behalf of himself and his restaurant company, Salsalito Cantina Inc., to charges of hiring the workers.
Federal prosecutors did not oppose probation, so U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia granted it to Bagheri and his company at sentencing last week. The judge also fined Salsalito $500,000 and Bagheri $250,000.
Bagheri’s lawyer, Jimmy Parks Jr., argued for the fines to be cut at least in half, saying they might hurt his client’s ability to keep the popular eateries open.
Huh? Since when is continued money-making by a criminal who knowingly harbors illegal aliens the chief concern in sentencing the crook? In fact, those are exactly the businesses that should be seized and shut down . . . if we had the guts and meant business. But we don’t. And he is Muslim, so he gets a different kind of justice than everyone else.
Bagheri is the owner of Salsalito, which has two Mexican restaurant locations in San Antonio that were raided by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in May 2009. The agency deported 20 workers.
Bagheri admitted that he was aware that a number of employees were working without legal authorization, according to his plea deal.
The restaurant wasn’t ordered to shut its doors as part of the deal.
Two kitchen managers, Angel Sotelo, 44, and Carlos Cossio Mendoza, whose age was unavailable, pleaded guilty to recruiting illegal workers and cooperated with agents, leading to Bagheri’s guilty plea.
General manager Humberto Gonzalez, 40, and human resources manager Sylvia Luna, 33, also pleaded guilty. Sotelo, Gonzalez and Luna are scheduled for sentencing March 1.
Cossio was sentenced in November 2010 to the nearly two months he’d already spent in jail.
Uh-huh. The Latinos get jailtime. But the Muslim boss who made ’em do it gets probation. Ain’t that nice!
Only in America.

Employee:
Senor, what do you want me to do with dese suicide vests?
Muslim Employer:
Oh, I bought you those to keep warm. Now put them on before I report you to the INS myself. Oh, and don’t forget to make that delivery to that U.S. Air Force base. And where the vests. And where the vests.
