Huh? Obama Says New HAMAS Palestinian Unity Govt is Merely “Internal Matter” of Palestinians

By Debbie Schlussel

For years, I’ve warned on this site about the impending merger between America’s preferred Islamic terrorists, Fatah and its leader Mahmoud Abbas a/k/a “Abu Mazen,” and the Muslim world’s favorite terrorists, HAMAS.  And, as I warned, this week, the merger was  agreed to in Doha, capital of our “loyal ally,” Qatar (and Al-Jazeera, which Qatar funds).  This is just one of the major reasons why America was extremely stupid–as I’ve warned over the years–to support Fatah, Abbas, and the P.L.O.  This support came largely to fruition under the Bush Administration, with George W. Bush giving Fatah gazillions for campaign ads, business start-ups, and, then, mortgage bail-outs for the Palestinians.  All of this money now goes to HAMAS.

PLO’s Abbas, Qatar Emir Hamid Bin Khalifa, HAMAS’ Meshaal: The S–t-Eating Grins That Say, “Israel, We’re Comin’ For You!

Don’t let the fact that Abbas was picked to head the HAMAS unity government fool ya.  He’s the face picked because he’s already been accepted and ass-kissed by the West (despite his open support for and involvement in both Islamic terrorism and Holocaust denial).  But HAMAS will be running the show.  HAMAS is the dominant force in both Gaza and the Palestinian Authority (PA), today.  And this just clears the way for HAMAS to take over officially, even without elections.  But, when those elections come, the group will solidify its power and hold over both Gaza and the PA, with access to these continuing funds from your tax dollars–funds which Congress and the State Department decline to cut off.  In fact, the Obama State Department, dismisses the HAMAS unity government as a mere “internal matter” of the Palestinian people!  Uh-huh, the same HAMAS that throws its people off 13 story buildings, the same HAMAS which is funded by Iran and blows people up.  “Internal matter.” Oh, and in case you missed it, Khaled Meshaal, the head of HAMAS, said that this unity government signifies a pact to “unify against the enemy.” Guess who that enemy is? Israel, the West, Christians, Jews. All of those–HAMAS is coming for you.

obamasmiling.jpg

Congressional amendments forbid foreign aid going to Hamas, which the United States has designated a terrorist organization. A partnership with Mr. Abbas could lead to a cutoff. “It further jeopardizes whatever existing aid is left,” said Representative Gary L. Ackerman, a Democrat from New York.

Until now, the State Department has declined to restrict aid, including military assistance to Palestinian security forces that totaled $450 million last fiscal year. The department has argued that the prospect of a Palestinian unity government that included Hamas, first announced last year, never fully materialized. . . .

If Monday’s agreement takes root, it would force the issue, putting the administration in an awkward position, especially with Congress, according to an administration official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The State Department’s spokeswoman, Victoria Nuland, said that Palestinian reconciliation was “an internal matter” for the Palestinians.

[Emphasis added.]

This is the Obama view: that HAMAS is an “internal matter” not to be defunded. Hmmm . . . doesn’t sound like it’s gonna be awkward for the Obama Administration at all. The question is whether Mitt Romney would actually have the guts to cut this money off, and if he would, why aren’t we hearing him say so? Don’t hold your breath. He’s just a hair–just a tiny hair–better than Obama.

Good luck with that.

Woow,it is disturbing to say the least,I know of terrorist simpathizer Abbas and I have always been disgusted the way both republican and democrat administrations conduct Israel policy, they surround themselves by “experts” who either don t care about the fate of Israel or they are too p.c. and tbey don t want to offend the liberals in the media,as far as Obama…are we really fooling ourselves and not believe that this man is a muslim or an Israel hater? both things are obvious only the willingly blind refuses to see it,may the G-d of Abraham(&mine too) watch over our beloved Israel and “His” people.

From the Jerusalem Post:

Reconciliation between Palestinian Fatah and Hamas factions should not be seen as contradictory or mutually exclusive from negotiations with Israel, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon told PA President Mahmoud Abbas in a Monday night phone call.

During the call, Ban expressed his hope that Abbas would remain engaged with the dialogue efforts led by Jordan’s King Abdullah, referring to the recent round of low-level, exploratory talks held in Amman between Israel and Palestinian delegations last month.

Ban’s comments came after Abbas and Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal signed an agreement Monday under the auspices of Qatar that if implemented will form a unity government with Abbas serving as interim prime minister.

The agreement is meant to pave the way for presidential and legislative elections.

IS THE WHOLE WORLD MAD, OR JUST ANTI-SEMITIC?

Jonathan E. Grant on February 7, 2012 at 3:04 pm

Jon, the world is invested in shrinking Israel away.

And its not going to allow a little hold up like Hamas to stand in the way of that objective.

The pressure on Israel to continue to make suicidal concessions to its enemies continues unabated.

NormanF on February 7, 2012 at 3:28 pm

The point is the US is going to fund Islamic terrorists not “secular” ones. Don’t hold your breath waiting for the US government to acknowledge the “peace process” is finished.

Lack of funding for bad ideas never dies in Washington.

NormanF on February 7, 2012 at 3:25 pm

DS,

This is a coalition to form an interim consensus government to fight the elections later this year. That is not the same as a “merger”, as anyone less stupid and/or bigoted than you is able to see.

d williams on February 7, 2012 at 3:26 pm

“Duh” Williams prolly thinks that the “Arab Spring” is all about democracy coming to Egypt. Still.

Skunky on February 7, 2012 at 6:14 pm

The shallow objection to which “d williams” lens his voice–as whether their co-operation is constitutive of homogeneous governance down to the neighborhood level–misses the point; which is, to whatever extent that unity of aim and effort may exist and function in furtherance of common goals, just to that extent is it, an actual merger.

That now aside, the real issue in hand has, rather to do with diminished mental capacity which dictated that, “d williams” missed that point: “d williams'” underlying handicap in capacity is clearly shown in his weak construction and use of perjorative: “anyone less stupid and/or bigoted than you is able . . . .”–though, for simple technical or theoretical accuracy, the turn in phrase would better reading as: “anyone [WHO IS] less stupid and/or bigoted than you is able . . . .”; or, “anyone [WHO MAY BE] less stupid and/or bigoted than you [WOULD BE] able . . . .”.

Most thankfully, penultimate goodness has so arranged things in life that, as fulfilling of a general category, bad people–people who are of evil animus–are beset with inherent limitations to assimilation of various elements in educable capacity. And as here, as a warning to decent people–our “d williams” showing–most often, they are bound to leave evidence of the earmarks of the lowest class of humanity, . . .

PhillipGaley on February 8, 2012 at 10:35 am

      Phillip Galey,

Before you pronounce on others’ use of language, you should look at your own. You might consult a dictionary as to the correct spelling of “lends” and “pejorative” and to the meaning of “penultimate”.

Your whole post is incoherent as well as abusive and does not inspire confidence in any opinions you are trying to express.

      d williams on February 9, 2012 at 11:35 am

        duh williams,

        You wrote to PhillipGaley:

“Your whole post is incoherent as well as abusive and does not inspire confidence in any opinions you are trying to express.”

This coming from the same person who called Debbie “stupid and/or bigoted”. You did however (unintentionally) describe your own original post well (on February 7, 2012 at 3:26 pm).

“This is a coalition to form an interim consensus government to fight the elections later this year.”

Um, fight against who? And how does this conflict with Debbie’s point that both Hamas and Fatah are both anti-Israel and American and that U.S. taxpayers shouldn’t be made to support either one?

JeffE on February 9, 2012 at 10:42 pm

          my post should read:

“Hamas and Fatah are both anti-Israel and anti-American”

JeffE on February 9, 2012 at 10:47 pm

“This is a coalition to form an interim consensus government to fight the elections later this year.”

Why are they fighting the elections?

JeffE on February 9, 2012 at 11:24 pm

          JeffE,

It is the usual practice for rival parties to combine together to form a coalition when their country is faced with a lethal external threat, as is the case with the Palestinians. See for example the UK during the two World Wars.

          d williams on February 10, 2012 at 1:41 pm

d willams, thanks for calling Debbie stupid and bigoted!

Apparently, you can’t read and calling her names doesn’t change the fact that Hamas is going to run the show among the Palestinian Arabs from now on.

Stay classy with those insults of yours!

NormanF on February 7, 2012 at 3:31 pm

“The State Department’s spokeswoman, Victoria Nuland, said that Palestinian reconciliation was “an internal matter” for the Palestinians.”

Isn’t that the same argument China uses in opposing all international efforts both inside and outside of China to prevent massacres?

I suppose the administration is about to use that same argument as the Muslim Brotherhood starts to take over in country after country in that region.

I wonder if Obama were President of the US if he would have said the same thing when Nazi Germany enacted the Nuremberg laws and then proceeded with the Genocide of the Jews.

I_AM_ME on February 7, 2012 at 4:56 pm

Effectively, we would be funding Hamas. Is this how low we have fallen? Could any Jew other than a Jew in Name Only support President Obama after this? Yes, I am referring to you Ed Koch and others like you how have made noises about Israel in the past, but who cave as soon as it becomes inconvenient to support Israel in any concrete way. If such people cannot bring themselves to push back now, they never will.

Worry01 on February 7, 2012 at 5:38 pm

Hamas is funded by Iran. Didn’t their head CrAzY just re-assert that he wanted all Jews killed and Israel destroyed?

Fatah and Hamas are just about ONE. Wonder how the mega-minds at the State Department *think* the money they give to these pigs will not make it to Hamas.

It sounds to me like when Planned Parenthood gets federal funds and every moonbat acts as if those funds DON’T assist in abortions…the bread and butter of PP.

Does the gubmint think that those paying attention ACTUALLY believe those big, stupid lies????

Just how dumb is our gubmint…and just how dumb does the gubmint think we are????

Skunky on February 7, 2012 at 6:10 pm

Skunky, why are you surprised. Oh, you to think that our government represents us, since when?
#1.This is a private club just like other governments. In our democracy lobbyists are the first in line.
#2. Bribery is the best form of international diplomacy.
#3. If bribery does not work directly, bribe your allies who are only your allies because……(fill in the blank).
#4. If prevarication and all of the above does not work send the Marines, or the Navy Seals, or the tomahawks,or the drones.
Remember how Detroit’s Ford ,GM, and others such as Dow (made Zyclone B gas for Auchwitz) shamefully did business with Hitler even after war was declared.

For all practical purposes these two groups of charmers have always walked on the same set of legs. Hamas, the unashamed foam at mouth terrorists; Fatah, represented by their suit and tie front-man for terrorists, Abbas. The whole of ’em are dedicated members of ” The Mosque of Orthodox Infidel Haters”. Not even a distinction without a difference exists between the two when considering their genocidal goals, first–but not only– for Israel.
This latest of their machinations (merger, coalition, consensus [whatever]) is but another glass of poison they’ve poured and set aside for us to help ourselves.
Our war isn’t with peace loving Muslims; just the other 99%.

Occam's Tool on February 8, 2012 at 12:44 am

On this, I agree w/ Obama – it is an internal matter of the Palis. It’s the US that shouldn’t be doing deals w/ any Pali government – be it Fatah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad or PFLP. It should simply lay down the pre-conditions for which talks are acceptable.

Namely, not just the Palis, but the Arab League, and the OIC as a whole, have to for all time recognize Israel as a Jewish state, and forgo all claims to not just Jerusalem, but anywhere in Palestine – Judea and Samaria. All Palis currently living in various Arab or Islamic countries – be it KSA, Kuwait, Libya, UAE, et al must be given citizenship of the countries they live in, and end it there. On the Palis who live within Judea & Samaria and Israel proper (i.e. Israeli Arabs), the transfer solution should be done – move them to any Arab country of their choice, not necessarily Jordan – and tell them that that’s home. Only exception I would make would be for non-Muslims, who may remain where they are, but be subject to deportation if found plotting against Israel.

As an aside, I find it fascinating that the US ‘closest ally’ Qatar is sponsoring both the Hamas-Fatah talks, as well as the Taliban-Karzai negotiations. I’d hate to know who Obama considers enemies. Oh, I forgot – the enemy is Israel!

Infidel on February 8, 2012 at 4:00 am

But Obama is the enabler, he encourages Iran, Qutar,Hamas and indirectly Hezbollah when he openly attacks Israel and Netenyahu who is also straddling with internal division. Obama I am afraid is a non-committal and duplicitous loose cannon on our ship of state aka the “USS buckpasser”.

Ron Wolf on February 10, 2012 at 10:49 pm

    Infidel,

You are advocating total ethnnic cleansing of the Palestinians and the Israeli Arabs. Do you seriously suppose that any Arab country, or indeed any other country (including the US and even Israel) would find this a practical solution?

    d williams on February 11, 2012 at 7:51 pm

This is the problem that Americans do not want to acknowledge. That George W Bush handed America’s forewign policy decisions to the Saudis to run. He only had to put his thumb print to it.
What I do not understand up till now why aren’t Americans awake to this travesty. What a shame; the country tha sent a man to the moon is unable to fathom simple facts of life.

G. R. Scharoubim on February 8, 2012 at 11:59 am

What angers me to no end about “conservatives” who endlessly denounce the Left is their convenient blind spot when it comes to the Bush administration. President Bush did at least as much damage to Israeli peace and stability as Obama — and that’s saying something. Why does Bush keep getting a free pass from avowed conservatives?
