Liam Neeson Considers Converting to Islam – “Al-Moron”

By Debbie Schlussel

Over a year ago, I told you about Irish actor Liam Neeson’s absurd claim that Aslan, the Christ-based Lion he voices in “The Chronicles of Narnia” movies is Mohammed.  Now, he says he’s considered converting to Islam, after hearing the Islamic call to prayer while in Turkey.  Looks like that call to prayer turns some brains into mush, especially the ones already pre-disposed to Islam . . . and NOT critical thinking.

islamiccrescent.jpg

Hollywood star Liam Neeson is considering giving up his Catholic belief and becoming a Muslim.

The actor, 59, admitted Islamic prayer “got into his spirit” while filming in Turkish city Istanbul.

He said: “The Call to Prayer happens five times a day and for the first week it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit and it’s the most beautiful, beautiful thing.

Beautiful? Hilarious. If being woken up early in the morning by the scary and spurious chants that there is no god but allah is beautiful to you, you really need your head examined, Liam. Oh, and now he’s enticed by the “stunning” mosques. My guess is he hasn’t been inside a church lately. His ridiculous statement certainly sounds like that of a four-year-old kid who is enticed by the draw of brightly colored candy that, beyond the color-coating, tastes like s**t.

“There are 4,000 mosques in the city. Some are just stunning and it really makes me think about becoming a Muslim.”

Liam was raised in Northern Ireland as a devout Catholic and altar boy and was named after the local priest.

But the star — whose wife Natasha Richardson died aged 45 in a skiing accident in 2009 — has spoken about challenges to his faith.

He said: “I was reared a Catholic but I think every day we ask ourselves, not consciously, what are we doing on this planet? What’s it all about?

“I’m constantly reading books on God or the absence of God and atheism.”

Wow, looks like someone needs to read some books about the absence of a brain.

“What’s it all about?” Oh, brother. Go back to the ashram, moron.

I guess this is his repentance for doing the movie, “Taken” (read my review).  Or maybe this is some sort of tribute to his ancient skank mother-in-law–anti-Semitic, pro-Islamic terrorist, friend-of-Arafat, Qaeda-concubine, Vanessa Redgrave.

Either way, he’s an idiot. Yet, another case of “Shut Up And ACT!”

Good grief. Maybe we should all be raised without any religious influence and as an adult make the choice based on the “looks” of the house of worship. Moron is correct.

That is the way to go Liam , may Allahs blessing on you.

lexi on January 26, 2012 at 12:43 pm

What benefits of Islam are you talking about? Aha yes. the seven hundred and something virgins in your Islamic heaven after killing an innocent coptic child or depriving him/her from aloving father or a mother. What alovely religion. poor liam you want to embrace hell with all your strength. Islam is the devil itself. kill kill kill if I am really sure that God said these words I will sure hate him with all my heart. A devil speaking about love is better than your false god. wake up Muslims before it is too late.

“kill kill kill if I am really sure that God said these words I will sure hate him with all my heart”

Exactly. Doesn’t sound like the “Creator” of the Universe to me either. Is it any wonder this so called religion is so popular among prison inmates? A god that condones murder, pedophelia, torture, hatred, injustice…etc, etc,………………………………………..etc.???
I’d spit in his face. I think I’d rather go to hell.

Reminds me of Obama’s quote: “The call of the Shehadeh is the most beautiful sound on earth.”

Now if Neeson agrees with it, he should know if he does convert, there’s no way to change his mind later.

NormanF on January 25, 2012 at 9:02 pm

To Road Warrior: I think Liam is not talking about mosques precisly but the impact of “azan” on his “spirit”. It is two diffferent things. It is like an episteme of experience crossing over the ontology of the subject and subject-position, in discusion.

Al Moron is right. No thoughtful person seeking G-d would convert to Islam. No person who abhors violence and hatred would choose Islam. No informed free person would choose Islam. Only uninformed free people convert to Islam.

Hey, can you actually tell us what is great about it Uzoozy? You seem to just go in a circle. What is great about Islam? Give us some specifics. I and many others could call a garbage can great, but does that make it so? So far, you seem to be making Debbie’s point that it is a mindless attachment.

      Worry01 on January 25, 2012 at 6:02 pm

Uzoozy, I have come across many like you, the mysterious fake it till you make it type in your own mind. Muslims generally dont really know their own religion much as “Christians” do but they identify as Muslim. more than 1/2 the worlds Muslims are illiterate and cannot read the Quran in any language so like Catholics in the middle ages that could not understand latin they are easily manipulated by imams. Islam is only 1/3 the Quran the rest is the Sira and Hadith. Islam is a process like a cancer is a process. I find it interesting that 64% of the Quran is about non Muslims, Kafirs. It has more hate in these books than Hitlers Mein Kampf. Islam is a bunch of contradictory ideas that are simultaneously true for Muslims. Islam is submission and praying 5x a day prevents critical thought from occuring in its practitioners. I could go on but perhaps we shall meet again so I may verbally evicerate your beliefs

Hammer on January 25, 2012 at 9:11 pm

yes brother. I experienced the greatness of your God and religion when Muslims in my town slaughtered more than 22 people including children just because they are christians. What a lovely religion! Congratulations Liam. You will get 700 virgins and even young boys if you wish in the Islamic hell-like heaven. But remember not to take any of Bin Ladin’s cause he is dangerous.

I think you’re the uninformed one. If you’re going to talk, at least know what you’re talking about. This guy has nothing to do with you, so why do you guys care if he converts? No one is telling you to go convert too.

Lexi on January 25, 2012 at 6:59 pm

Lexi, Niam is advertisting his conversion process, and not us. Also, what makes you an authority on anything Lexi that you would tell others to shut up? Finally, isn’t that what Islam is all about, not thinking and shutting up? You have unintentionally provided proof of just that in Islam.

      Worry01 on January 25, 2012 at 9:57 pm

Because Lexi, as a Christian, I would prefer he stayed one or embraced Judaism.

As a rational thinker I’d prefer he chose Buddhism, Hinduism, etc…almost anything but scientology…yuck

As a proponent of liberty, freedom, and justice I’d prefer he didn’t add another number to their ranks.

And maybe most importantly, as a human being, I’d prefer he didn’t throw his life away.

      …how’s that for an answer?

theShadow on January 26, 2012 at 11:00 pm

I agree 100% with your core observation that “No thoughtful person seeking G-d would convert to Islam.” But that is precisely the problem with Liam Neeson. The operative word in your statement is “thoughtful” and Neeson clearly lacks that quality; and also Neeson is evidently not “seeking G-d,” either.

Nonetheless, I think I understand Neeson’s “reasoning,” however, and I use that word very, very loosely here. Neeson was raised in Northern Ireland as a devout Roman Catholic. I’m sure that his faith was challenged by the shocking death of his wife, Natasha Richardson, who died aged 45 in a skiing accident in 2009. Tellingly, Neeson said the following in an interview: “I was reared a Catholic, but I think every day we ask ourselves, not consciously, what are we doing on this planet? What’s it all about? I’m constantly reading books on God or the absence of God and atheism.”

So Neeson was really initially drawn to atheism in response to the loss of a loved one.

But “converting” to “atheism” is difficult for many people who abandon their original faiths because you are no longer part of something larger. Of all the religions you could possibly choose then, as a substitute for atheism, Islam fits the bill the best. First, it is not really a religion at all, but has all the characteristics of a cult–and a very dangerous one at that. Second, it does not require you to think. You need only follow the instructions that the cult leaders tell you to do. Third, it does not require you to feel, as it is the most unfeeling of all “religions.” Fourth, Islam is the perfect choice for an ultra-Leftist, and Leftists are among the biggest fans of the cult of Islam. All these things fit Neeson very well.

On the other hand, Neeson may merely be following the advice of his publicist, who may have dreamed up the whole story of Neeson’s potential conversion to Islam as promotional stunt to drum up buzz for Neeson’s forthcoming film, The Grey. Some publicists believe that there is no such thing as “bad publicity,” and that getting people to talk about something put out there in the media will help push the product, even if many people react negatively to the initial “news.” In other words, they think that public controvery equal sales.

Needless to say, if this latter alternative is what this Neeson story is about, I hope it backfires. But if the former alternative is true, perhaps it won’t be such a bad thing if Neeson actually does convert to Islam. Then he will be like the former “Cat Stevens,” and disappear altogether from the public eye. For it is an axiom that creativity and Islam are simply incompatible.

None of the reasons he gives has anything to do with the religion itself – it seems he’s attracted to the buildings and songs, but never mentions any beliefs. Also, most of those buildings were either stolen and converted, or simply a copy of something someone else built (ex. Hagia Sophia and the (of course) slightly taller mosque they built right next to it).

Perhaps someone should tell Liam Neeson that a lot of the ‘beautiful mosques’ in Turkey used to be Christian. Thats right Liam, all churches in Byzantium were forcibly taken over and occupied by Muslim’s, and not in a peaceful way. You need to go online, Liam, and Google the history of Asia Minor, you will be well educated.

Don Stevens on January 25, 2012 at 3:44 pm

In Spain and Portugal (Andlusa) a lot of the mosques were converted to Churches. For a muslim he needs a place to pray and not a place to look at pretty girls.

In Germany a lot of churches are being given to the devout followers of Islam. There are no Christains that pray any more.
    Get a life become Muslim.

Uzoozy on January 25, 2012 at 5:57 pm

Uzoozy, you like to spam alot, but you really do not say anything. What is good about Islam? Are you such a poor witness for Allah that you are incapable of uttering something concrete in Islam’s favor.

As for Spain and Portugal my friend, you seem to forget the Islamic conquest of those countries in the eight century. It is the same fate that Constantinople faced in 1453. The difference being that Spain and Portugal drove out the Los Moros by the end of the fifteenth century. Why should they keep your mosques, which were the marks of an oppressor? Also, if Islam were so grand, why was it contested from the very start on the Iberian Peninsula?

Okay, once again tell us why Islam is good? We do not need to hear anymore about its being great because it is great. That is the thought process of a seven year old. Give us something concrete, if you can.

Islam is a great religion, and Koran is the word of God.
We pray to one God only, we do not associate anyone with God.
The true followers of Islam are pious and holy people, who love life and enjoy their world.
The religion recognizes Jesus , Moses,Noah, Abraham, as prophets/messengers of God.
We pray 5 times a day which makes one very content with life.
One in five people in this world are Muslims, the fastest growing religion in the world, they are liked by most people as they are peaceful and humble.

So Liam, are you okay with Sharia? Specifically, do you think Purdah is cool? Would you like to inform the women you go out with about that? As for your excitement over the call to prayer five times a day, that is an early example of totalitarianism. Aside from the prayer itself, it was and is used to keep tabs on the ummah. If you failed to show up, your lovely fellow Muslims would report it or confront you themselves. Those prayers take on the complexion of a mandatory affirmation of a leader, rather than anything spiritual. As for having been a devout Catholic, I rather doubt it. It is more likely that you just conformed to the wishes of your parents as a child, and within you was just a void. What you chose to fill that void shows about as much spiritual discernment as someone trying to join the IRA at its height.

Your witnessing of Islam is certainly not doing him any favors.

If so, Uzoozy is not a good spokesmodel for his “religion,” as he seems incapable of saying anything intelligent or thoughtful. Curious, though, that a “religion” for intelligent people can’t snag a few more Nobel Prizes, isn’t it? It’s curious as well that this totalitarian belief system posing as a religion is not at all selective about those it forces to submit or die. If Islam allowed people to think and decide for themselves, there would have only been around half a dozen Muslims during Mo’s own life, and the “religion” would have died out then, for Mo did not gain a large number of followers until he used war to compel people.

fred on January 25, 2012 at 10:18 pm

“Islam punishes those who leaves Islam”

That’s what I thought in the first place! Then after a careful study on the matter, it’s not like when you say “oh this is boring. I’m going out”, and they get beheaded right on the spot. No, it doesn’t work that way AT-ALL. Many Christians (not all) believes stuff like this, when Islam punishes those who steal, they get their hands cut-off etc etc. But hell no, that’s not how it works at all!

When I converted to Islam, I knew all this while I’ve been reading and obtaining wrong informations about Islam. To behead or to cut their hands who steal, takes a very very long process. Last time I heard it took about 13 stages of judiciary! They filter and filter, until they come up with a decision. About the people who leaves Islam, yes they will beheaded but not that easy! They will be counselled and an effort to correct ones belief so that they repent and come back to Islam. As I understand so far, those who are beheaded are those who bluntly make lies about Islam to the public. Those who doesn’t, they are safe.

This is a thing that comes to my mind to know more about what the Christians thought and made a false claim about Islam this and that.

Islam is perfect, the religion is perfect. Don’t look at the Muslims who has/may have not practice Islam correctly. It is them, the individuals. What the wrong thing they do, is not what Islam told them to do! Like a person who breaks into shops, I don’t blame his religion but the person! It’s like that, you see. Just don’t let the haters do the thinking for you. You have to find out and study it yourself. If you have the guts, meet a Muslim priest and ask! That’s what I do!

Liam Neeson has studied Islam and he has obtained informations about it from the correct source. I have to and I’m happy to be a Muslim now. Islam answers all my questions and worries. I too believe in Jesus but as a Messenger of God, like Muhammad, Moses and the prophets before them (peace and blessings upon the prophets).

Can’t wait for a gay guy to convert.

CaliforniaScreaming on January 25, 2012 at 11:19 pm

I’m an adult male and former corporal in the US armed forces. I’ve got 2 B.A. degrees from NYU and a Master’s in Conflict Resolution from GWU. I too grew up in a catholic home where the rites & rituals we were taught to us from our youth. The true reality, and I find this amoung many of my Christian friends, is that there is defintely a sense of emptiness that most people in this world yearn for. There is a big reason whu hypocracy exsists between what we are “taught” in church and how we go about our lives.
After much soul searching and reaching the age of 43 yrs old I decided to read about Islam. One hears about all the stories of people who’ve converted just from having a glimpse of that Muslim faith, and I wasn’t going to allow that for myself. However, truth be told, and as God-the Creator of All- bares witness, I never felt more struck in my soul then when I began to read the Quranic chapter of “Mary”/ “Mariam”. The faith truly grabs you! Everything is very clear and it is very evident that instead of being an outright different religon from what I was brought up within, it is rather plainly the authentic continuation of revelation from the first day it was sent down.
For everyone whom says that “these people lack brains” or that they’re “loony to begin with”, I challange you to do your own research and reading. Be objective and go into it with serious focus. The fear and predjudice you’ve had within you all these years might give way to an elightenment which will truly change you. Truth is always self evident and can never be tarnished.
For the record, I’m a happily married white adult male whom works for the US government within our national security aparatus. My wife has seen my conversion first hand and though I will never force faith onto her, which by the way she feels is missing, but I will not be apologetic for her or others on the day when we all stand before the Creator and each has to answer for what they’ve done, beleived-in, and imparted on the rest of fellow mankind.
“Al-Moron” eh!

DejaVu all over again. (or is that Vuja Dey?)

Alexander (?) your copy/paste post is exactly like one I read years ago. And just like that one, it presents no examples. You know when a Christian or Jew speak of the Holy Scriptures they will give you a quote or link. So where do I go to be enlightened? Give us something that will make us true beleivers.
Better yet, just give up, ’cause it ain’t gonna happen.

    To the DS doppleganger below:
Deuteronomy quotes the past, a one-time event, while the queeran quotes the future, the ultimate destruction of human civilization, where satan’s cult rules the land. Of course all you anti-Semites have sided with Nazi/Islam since their conception.

Alexander, your academic pedigree does NOT diminish the power of our arguments against Islam. It hardly gave you the sense that you foolishly belong to a death-cult. Spare us.

DS has written more here to counter whatever foolishness and nonsense you are afflicted with.

And besides, if one really wants to see the REAL illegitimacy of Islam, all they have to do is read Genesis and see what happens when Hagar has Ishmael.

At least al-Moron was twitterpated by a bunch of ululating. You’ve delved into the Satanic book and like what you saw.

Skunky on January 26, 2012 at 11:34 am

I do not believe you are a true Muslim, tell what you have written to any Imam and he will tell you that it is your duty to murder your wife if she does not submit, and until she converts you are not legally married (check your”Sharia”).
As for your working for our government I hope its not the Post Office as I consider the expression “going Postal” equivilant to your “going muslim”.
To your wife my advice: 1.Hide the knives. 2. Leave.

Ron Wolf on January 26, 2012 at 4:43 pm

Oh Debbie Debbie Debbie

Are your zio panties in a bunch because you are worried that white America and Europe are waking up the the fact that Deuteronomy commands you to kill everything in a city that walks when you take it? Even the donkeys? Oh and let us not forget that the stone the adulterer theme didnt start with the muzzies but with your beaky colleagues in Tel Aviv. The hilarious thing is that the more you scream like a banshee, the more we understand we are taking our country out of the mess you and your ape cousins (Arabs and Jews) have put the rest of the world in.

Cheers!

DebbieSchlussel on January 25, 2012 at 11:55 pm

In a sense, Uzoozy is right. Given how the rest of the West panders to Islam, conversions does have its benefits. Particularly since one sees them getting preferential treatment that they won’t dream of giving non-Muslims.

If you’re in a British gaol, it gets you better food. If you are a thug, Islam justifies whatever you do, as long as you do it in the name of allah & mohammed. Which is a major factor for most thugs, who have no purpose in life, but suddenly find this cult that tells them that if they call themselves Muslims – which is as simple as reciting that stupid shehada in front of a witness, then islam allows them to rape infidel girls – that ‘which their right hand possesses’.

For men, the fringe benefits are just awesome. Once Liam converts, his wife is his tilth, and what’s more, he’s entitled to 4. That too, at any one time i.e. he could use and throw them as he likes, once he’s tired of one. If Liam goes the Shia path, he can even go w/ muttah marriages, or those ‘temporary marriages’ in Iran or Iraq – a thinly veiled form of prostitution.

Oh, and what’s more – if you can get yourself on the payroll of some Arab sheikhs who have no idea of what to do w/ money they haven’t lifted a finger to earn b’cos it’s just the windfall that their government gives them from their oil exports, you pretty much have it made. Make some BS statements about infidels, and join the ranks of CAIR or other Western jihadi groups. Just keep doing whatever it takes so that the gravy train keeps running.

Oh, and one more thing – if you’re going to convert, call yourself a Sayyid, or a descendant of Mohammed, like millions of Pakis – nobody is going to examine your ancestry, and you get one of the privileged roles in the islamic pecking order.

Alexander: I never felt more struck in my soul then when I began to read the Quranic chapter of “Mary”/ “Mariam”…

The story of Virgin Mary in the Qur’an was already well-known in the Arabian Peninsula and the Arabic-dominated areas what are now Syria, Jordan, and eastern Egypt LONG BEFORE Islam. There were many Arab Christians who belonged to two competing Christian sects in the areas – the Monophysites and the Nestorians. Both sects revered Virgin Mary. Mohammed was familiar by the story of Mary growing up and likely incorporated that story into his religion later on. That is to deny the fact he plagiarized the story of Mary from earlier Arab Christian sources is an understatement. Many (mostly illiterate) Arab Christians were either persuaded or forced to convert to Islam by Mohammed’s commanding performance as a prophet of God. Their strong reverence for the Virgin Mary forced the early writers to supplant Mary’s story into the Qur’an. The Qur’an is filled with plagiarized contents from the Old Testament and other pagan/Christian sources in the Arabian peninsula, all entirely based on Mohammed’s interpretations, ideas, and practices of these sources.

Breaks my heart. He converts and we will never see his brilliant acting again. Uzoozy, I too read the Quran but I began at the end and read towards the front (you know the violent portion). I don’t remember a lot of love and kisses, I remember the “beat your wife,” “rape Infidels,” “take booty,” “kill the infidels,” etc. The only kind verses in that book lie at the front, which was a cover for the second half to come in violence. I pray you see the light and someone can convince you that you are worshipping a Satan inspired pedophile, violent monster. Let’s pray for Liam before he does something crazy.

He should be racked with guilt over his role in his wife’s death in Canada. In spite of having clear symptoms of brain hematoma (bleeding in the cranium; boxer Benny Paret died of same after a fight in the early sixties), his wife – Natasha Richardson – refused to wait for a CT scan at a hospital. Maybe if she didn’t have a pig-headed husband, she would have lived. Then again, her momma – Vanessa Redgrave – is equally warped. Bad genes and spouse choices.

Jack Mutt on January 26, 2012 at 3:41 pm

Cat Stevens long has claimed that he’s against the people responsible for the 9/11 attacks. He insists Islam is all about love and tolerance, and that suicide attacks go against the religion of peace. His 1971 song, “Peace Train,” is what true spirituality is about — so he says. Anyone here have an alternate take?

Seek on January 26, 2012 at 3:42 pm

Cognitive Dissonance – a state conducive to sudden attitude change – which may include a complete shift in positions – that occurs where a hitherto fixed belief becomes difficult to hold after those who imparted the belief, are discredited.

The quran is a sack of shit. In one section it is stated that Alexander the Great reached the place where the Sun sets, and found a tribe of primitive swamp dwellers. Other than the historical sections, the rest is derivative from Judeo-Christian texts. There isn’t a word of positive proof – testimony – that muhammad the pedophile actually had angelic visitations.

Note – in 10 years as a religious cult leader, muhammad gained less than 100 dupes. After 13 years as a military dictator, muhammad had zero opposition. Let’s not pretend that the arab terror manual (quran) has persuasive value. Islam was forced on desert primitives, and advanced by military aggression. over 300,000,000 innocents were slaughtered in islam’s wars against Civilization. Islam is a disease; muslims are its carriers.

Liam Neeson hearing the moon-god worshipers call to prayer inspire him to convert reminds me of the ending of “Mars Attacks” where the invaders brains exploded from the sound of the classic country music yodeling.

One of my great memories of the time I spent in Saudi Arabia with the Marines during Desert Storm was every evening We would hear the muslim call to prayer. It was pretty loud they use loudspeakers. So whenever they would start the prayer I would fire up My bagpipes and drown out their noise. It gave me and my fellow Marines a great sense of satisfaction,I dont know how the ragheads felt about it.

Tom Dooley on January 27, 2012 at 1:53 am

Tom

Pity you & your fellow Marines had to be in that Godforsaken but allah-infested land, simply b’cos the US thought it worthy to defend those ragheads from other ragheads.

Honestly, thinking about it, the reason Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1991, aside from specious historical claims, was to dilute the Shia population of Iraq – and it’s true Saudi Arabia would have been next. Answer is – so what? Had Iraq been allowed to overrun the entire Arabian peninsula, the US could have continued to buy oil from it – just like it trades w/ China. And while Saddam was anti-Semitic, his main goal was to be the head of a Sunni country, which Iraq alone wasn’t, but which Iraq, along w/ Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and maybe other Arabian countries would have been. He’d have done that and then maybe gone to war against Syria, ousted the Assads (whom he hated) and then maybe resumed the war against Iran.

Also, Saddam, unlike the Saudis, was less interested in using his cash in dawa in the West – yeah, he’d have still supported Hamas & Fatah, but I would argue that Israel’s security hasn’t been enhanced by protecting Saudi Arabia. Instead, had Saddam been totally spread out and consumed in suppressing both the Shia within his empire and fighting Iran, he’d have had little scope to pursue his enemity towards Israel.

So the sooner the US withdraws troops from all Islamic countries – Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and so on, and moves some of them to Israel and brings the rest home, the better. The best thing to happen in all these countries is civil wars. And the next act of terrorism that happens from Islamic soil should be a trigger for the US to declare war on whichever country that originates from – including Saudi Arabia or Pakistan.
