Thanks DPD, For Saving My Life (Just Got Back From The HAMAS/Hezbollah Rally)

By Debbie Schlussel
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****
I just got back from the pro-HAMAS/Hezbollah rally the Muslims held (and our much smaller counter-rally) at the McNamara Federal Building in Detroit. A lot of very violent, anti-Semitic slogans were shouted, some of which I think I caught on video (am new to this). Will try to edit and put up later.
But for now, please note that once they discovered who I was–which they didn’t detect for hours–the Muslims were surrounding me, wouldn’t leave me alone. They also got an Egyptian Detroit Police officer to ask me to stop filming them on public property. So much for my civil rights, which the National Lawyers Guild attorneys there to “monitor the rights of Muslim-Americans” didn’t seem to care about “monitoring.”
The Muslim HAMAS supporters were deliberately bumping and trying to trip me, then telling police I touched them. They became more and more enraged when I wouldn’t engage them and answer their questions. I feared for my life. So did the Detroit Police Department who had to escort me back to my car, so I could get away safely. One of the two gentleman DPD officers told me he feared for my safety. Many thanks to these chivalrous officers.
“Religion of Peace,” indeed.
**** UPDATE: A little video “taste” of what happened at the HAMAS rally.

I’m glad that you’re OK. You’ve got a lot of courage confronting these savages. Do you have some type of backup, e.g. an emergency number that someone can call if you don’t contact them by a certain time?

c f on January 8, 2009 at 7:36 pm

Debbie, under other circumstances, they would done worse to you. That’s the 1st Amendment in America today: you can call for the Jews to be put into the ovens and demand the destruction of Israel but you’re not allowed to identify the Arab Nazis and depict their subversion of our free society. If you were in Canada, Debbie – you’d be faced with financial ruin now. Thank G-d you still live here and to a certain extent, are able to get the truth out. Keep up the good work!

NormanF on January 8, 2009 at 7:38 pm

YOU ROCK DEBBIE!! Taking one for the team. Hope to see the video. You have gone up a couple more notches.

californiascreaming on January 8, 2009 at 7:43 pm

Not every one in America is amiss to the danger. The DPD recognizes those Hezbo/Hamas savages for who they are and two police offers escorted Debbie out of harm’s way. I’d advise her to carry concealed next time. The police can’t be around all the time to protect an individual from harm and in any case, it is the individual’s responsibility to arrange for their own protection. A good backup to the 1st Amendment is the 2nd Amendment and Debbie would be a fool not to take sensible precautions in the future. Stay safe!

NormanF on January 8, 2009 at 7:43 pm

C f, I wish that could be said of the Islamist-pandering Feds. It looks to get worse under Obama. They are reportedly ready to talk directly to Hamas. That only makes official what’s been going on quietly in the background for some years any way. So much for the hard lessons from 9/11. This country has amnesia about the threat from Islam.

NormanF on January 8, 2009 at 7:48 pm

Debbie, I’m glad you got out of there safely and look forward to viewing your video. I can only imagine the hate coming from the Detroit RoP faithful. Again, I’m glad you got away unharmed. Thanks for all you do to get the truth out!

janice on January 8, 2009 at 7:56 pm

We’ve seen this in city after city: Ft. Lauderdale, SF, NYC, Detroit. In Europe it’s worse. A Muslim mob entered the Jewish quarter in Antwerp and tried to drag shopkeepers from their stores. This is pure bloodlust. No one behaves like this (except perhaps soccer hooligans) ) in the Western World, no one except these extremely violent and hate-filled people. Barbaric.
Furthermore, I have not heard a single politician denounce the blatant genocidal anti-semitism. Imagine if any group other than Jews were subjected to this abuse. Jews certainly are in grave danger everywhere.

sonomaca on January 8, 2009 at 8:27 pm

all i can say is sometimes the truth hurts my God u have guts to go out there around tons of muslims and do what u did TRUTH be told u have heart.

TRUTH on January 8, 2009 at 8:40 pm

Just got back from a demonstration in Ft. Lauderdale where the Savages were in rare form. You are dealing with young angry brainwashed Muslims who seethe with hatred for America and in particular Jews. I strongly recommend to all Jews and Christians out there to wake up. I would not feel totally comfortable at another rally without some personal protection. The enemy is among us and they’re not here to sing God Bless America

Spike on January 8, 2009 at 9:09 pm

Debbie,
I’m sure there are many large guys in Detroit who would be willing to shadow you as a bodyguard if you only ask.
Also, always staple your own protest sign to a baseball bat as it could come in handy in defending yourself if things go sour.

Azygos on January 8, 2009 at 9:18 pm

I’m glad you are OK.
Gob bless you.
Please keep up the great work!

Dave Fourputt on January 8, 2009 at 9:32 pm

Be careful, Debbie. Do not wanted you to get badly hurt or worse by these Islamofascist idiots. Have someone on your side to film you for support and proof of who would assault or harangue you violently in a rally. Glad you’re okay now but, next time, please follow my advice.

Bobby's Brain on January 8, 2009 at 9:42 pm

Here is the funny thing i said before u have guts for going to the rally… Debbie just so u know we where a respectful group tonight in Detroit no one even came near u get ur facts together u are nothing but a liar and it would be nice to get THE TRUTH out there ALLAH (God) will get u back sooner then later and thats the TRUTH and for u jews and jew lovers God has plans for u unlike the jews, Muslims are the TRUTH.

Nice to know there are Policemen on the Detroit Police Department who still have principles.
I wish a friend of yours could have been in some high spot with a telephoto lens recording this. Something to think about the next time you go to one of these.

There is NO Santa Claus on January 8, 2009 at 10:08 pm

Azygos gives excellent advice, all kidding aside.
I realize how bad the logistical nightmare would be to recruit and screen able-bodied righteous men for your protection. But what he said about stapling the sign to a bat is genius. Also, S. Claus’s have-someone-film-you-as-you-film advice is well taken.
Debbie, you have the courage of a lion, but don’t get hurt!

Todd on January 8, 2009 at 10:18 pm

I was at the rally with Debbie also. Sorry, but that was NOT a nice crowd on the Hamas side. Respectful would hardly be the word I would use – as is indicated in the “respectful” comment left by TRUTH. BTW – It’s spelled Israel – but spelling must go with their fashion sense – They have none and they can’t spell.
These perpatrators purposely came over to photgraph and try to get in our faces. Our supporters remained remarkably calm considering the threatening tone used by the Hamas bullies. The respectful crowd were the Jews AND Christians who were there to support our glorious United States and Israel. We sang our national anthem, and other songs to show our love for our country and our support for DEMOCRACY!!
Interestingly, the Hamas supporters didn’t have any American flags flying until the very end of the rally. It was quite a sight to see them only flying the Hamas flag. Not only do they hate Israel, they’re not too fond of America either.
And their full regalia clothing left a lot to be desired. They looked like they were ready for battle, certainly not a peaceful rally. I would be happy to take them shopping (both the guys and gals) and get them something reasonable to wear. Seriously, we could teach them a thing or three about fashion – they totally lack. Those white robe things and those scarves and the head bands have got to go — so last year.
Debbie, you are brave. Please be careful.
Thanks, too, to our Homeland Security, DPD and anyone else who was out there to PROTECT us. We are grateful.
But most importantly, thank you United States, for the opportunity to be out there. That is what DEMOCRACY is all about.
Of course, those lackeys on the other side have NO CLUE how lucky they are.

sueb on January 8, 2009 at 10:25 pm

So let me get this straight. You spend every day of your life writing a blog that demonizes, insults, and stereotypes Muslims and Arab-Americans all over the world and show up a few feet away from them to join a group of people who are supporting the mass slaughter of Palestinians and you expected a kind reception? You’re stereotyping in this very post. “The pro-HAMAS/Hezbollah rally” is what you refer to a gathering of people who want this massacre to end. These people were there for peace and they acted in such a manner. It is a natural that a small number of fiery youths may have shouted angry or violent slogans. While I don’t agree with such slogans, it’s hard to argue with people who have watched over 700 of their own mass murdered, orphaned, and left with several more years of misery. We were in Detroit today for peace and acted as such. There were whites, blacks, Jews, Muslims, Christians, etc. amongst our protesters showing that this is not a Muslim or Arab issue, this is a humanitarian issue. Your viewpoint does nothing but create unnecessary hatred that we no longer need.

Mike on January 8, 2009 at 10:29 pm

Debbie, Debbie,
Please do not put yourself in that position again witout having a large group of people with you and the baseball bat.
I completely understand why you went but we need you alive to continue your great work on here
And to TRUTH! Your Allah will send you straight to he ll for the hate in your heart. Dont let the door hit you in the arse
Love you Deb, I would drive to Detriot if you needed me in a heart beat!

Holly on January 8, 2009 at 10:30 pm

As for Sueb, those were Palestinian flags, not Hamas.

Mike on January 8, 2009 at 10:32 pm

Debbie ( and all you other supporters at the
rally ) – you have a lot of guts and I salute
you !!!!! ) But I notice some comments imply
that Christians are not aware of the danger.
That is simply not true. I bet 90 pct. or even
more support Israel – I know all my Conservative
friends do. But what puzzles us no end is why
most Jews vote for Democrats, a group far less
supportive of Israel. And I remind you that it
was Ted Kennedy who was instrumental in changing
our immigration laws ( in the 70’s ) which let
these Muslim animals into this country in the first place ! So let’s point the finger in the right direction !

Hawkins on January 8, 2009 at 10:37 pm

Palestinian/Hamas flag – All the same. They were there supporting Hamas. They support TERRORISTS and TERRORISM. They support the massacre of their own people. They use the flags to recognize their support of the terrorist actions of HAMAS. All the same.
Still – bad clothing. Hard to get past the costuming. I can recommend a good personal shopper to help.

sueb on January 8, 2009 at 10:56 pm

Debbie: May some of my friends and I have the privilege of escorting you at one of these events? They won’t lay a finger on you with us there.

Mike is entitled to his opinion. Debbie is entitled to express hers but as I noted, in Canada you cannot express truthful observations about Islam without getting hauled before the kangaroo courts there, e.g, the politically correct human rights commissions. Which incidentally, have no problems with Imams expressing virulent hatred of Jews. There would be no problem if the other side appreciated supporters of Israel have a legitimate case. That’s what they what they refuse to accept and Debbie’s video is going to show what Islamists mean by “peace.” Stay tuned!

NormanF on January 8, 2009 at 11:49 pm

Debbie
Next time you go there, go with a concealed weapon, and accompanied by a group of large, able bodied armed men (again, with concealed weapons). It would be funny to see them turn from bullies to cowards the moment they’re confronted with greater force.

Infidel Pride on January 9, 2009 at 12:18 am

Why not press charges against these Islamofacist Nazi thugs? Maybe some would even get deported (probably not, but at least worth a try)?

John C on January 9, 2009 at 12:29 am

The comments by two individuals appearing above, one an obvious Muslim and the other a possible Muslim, or at least an apologist for Hamas, are instructive. The first, from his comments – as illiterate as they are – is a primitive, whose belief that “Allah has plans for you” refers, undoubtedly, to the Muslim tenet that Islam must, and will, dominate globally, and that Jews, who have rejected Muhammed, killed their prophets, practiced sorcery, broke the Sabbath, and caused corruption in the land, are hated by Allah and will all, in the end, be consigned to the Fire. This is not extremism. It is mainstream Islamic theology, and it serves as the basis for the existence not only of Hamas, but also Hezbollah, the PLO, and every other group, brigade, and army which exists to wage a war of annihilation against Israel, the reconsecrated domain of the people Muhammed, and Allah, revile most – the Jews.
Our other poster, somewhat more articulate but equally hateful, decries the fact that Palestinian Muslims are being harmed in a war that they themselves began. He speaks of a “humanitarian” issue here, making no mention of the fact that the war was begun, and continues, because its initiator, HAMAS, exists only to annihilate a sovereign state, Israel, and its charter makes this intention abundantly clear. And HAMAS was elected by those very Gazans who now weep and cry foul because of Israel’s necessary and justified response to incessant rocket attacks – those very Gazans who knew full well what HAMAS represented, and what HAMAS’s goal was, and how it would go about implementing that goal, which is the annihilation of Jews, for the sake of the glory of Islam and Allah. The Gazan Muslims, in electing HAMAS into power nearly two years after the last Jew was extirpated from the few settlements they had established in a hostile sea of Muslims, gave their approval for this continuing jihad, and now they weep as their homes are destroyed and their lives threatened. Humanitarian issue? Really? Do tell.
Israel, I hasten to add, deserves condemnation, all right – for its inaction, until now, to respond in a robust way to the rockets that rained down on Ashkelon and Sderot, attacks that began, in earnest, several years ago. The current Israeli government, feckless and timid, waited far too long to defend and protect its citizenry from Muslim barbarism. The true humanitarian crisis is in Israel, where there is not barbarism, but a leadership crisis.

commonsense on January 9, 2009 at 12:39 am

I was not on either side. I was looking at both the PALESTINIAN side and Israeli side. But Debbie get this straight. Your taking it out of proportion. Both sides were peaceful. No one did anything wrong. They were Palestinian flags not HAMAS. Where are you getting this? I’m a Israeli that supports non killing on either side. What Israel is doing is not what Jewish people think. This is people suffering. I know you would be sounding off if 700 Israelis died. How would you feel if you lost your child? Most of us here never lived in a war torn country so stop thinking you know everything. Not all Arabs are bad. There are bad apples in every culture and every religion. Its just wrong to judge everyone. You judge books by their cover. I am asking please don’t do it as much. This is the United States, lets be United please. There is many Jews born here in America as well as Muslims born here. For some peoples information it wasn’t government officials that let Muslims in the country, they have been coming since Columbus’s time. Just report the news the right way Debbie, with truth. During the Civil rights era, there was lynching, and people burning crosses, but they claimed themselves as Christian. They weren’t acting christian like if they were doing that. The temple is a peaceful place, not a political machine. I want to pray peacefully.

Bruce on January 9, 2009 at 1:19 am

That’s typical of the Islamofascist cowards. They’re very brave when they outnumber you 200-1, or are threatening a female. I hope America will finally Wake Up & throw these barbarian scum-bags out of the country. Not much time left as the reproduce like cockroaches & have far less brains.

wow! there is a lot of ignorance that exists on this blog and for someone who is supposed to be “intelligent” I find it shocking! I am a supporter of peace and I myself was at the rally and I just cant get passed the fact that you call it pro hamas/hozbollah rally of the muslims. you mention that you are not isrealies, but you are jews and christains. well if you really actually care to know we were not palistinians at the rally, we were muslims, christians, jews, who come from the arab world, america, europe, china, asia and africa. I truley believe they would find it offensive to say they are rallying for hamas rather than the for calling an end to the disaster that is going on on both sides, the isreali and palistinain sides. We are rallying to call an end to the devistation that has taken place in front of our eyes. The innocent children caught in the cross fire, the innocent women who were destroyed in their homes. It is very ignorant of you to say that these protestors are protesting for violence and are supporters of terrorists.

Oh my! Thank God you’re safe!!
Next time, please have at least a few armed escorts. Your life is precious not only to you, but other right-minded individuals.
We have lost the freedom of expression since the terrorists started moving here. We need to have a real massive boycott of any product that emanates out of their sandholes. We have to find a way to kick them back, or we’ll end up as the United States of Arabia.
I don’t have to wonder too hard why the DPD had to escort you away instead of filing charges against those who threatened you. They were brave and chivalrous, but I still think they should have let you stay there – you have rights to protest! By leading you to your car, your rights just got diminished. Terrorists +1 Debbie’s -1.

anonymous twit on January 9, 2009 at 9:52 am

Again, I repeat: muslims pick on GIRLS and CHILDREN. They won’t face real men. That’s why all a real lady like Debbie has to do is call, and we’ll be there in force, protecting her from these muslim demons.
I can’t think of any other word to describe them. Anyone out there know of a good (clean!) word which describes men who attack only women and children, but who run and hide when a real man is present?

PersonOfTheBook on January 9, 2009 at 9:56 am

How can you really blame these people (the muzlums) for their behavior? After all, they’re just doing what their false prophet, mohammad, instructed them to do when he invented that barbarian religion.
After looking at the video of that demonstration, it’s obvious that anyone who subscribes to such a religion has to be not only brain dead, but also full of white-hot rage and be prone to violence. It’s nothing but irrational rage…but, then again, islam is all abbout irrational rage.

Thee_Bruno on January 9, 2009 at 10:36 am

The Balkanization of America is well underway, thanks to our Government’s policy of letting in so many muslim ingrates.
Wonder what the police will do, if anything, once physical attacks at these rallies take place? And we all know they will take place — it’s the muslim way of “dicussing” the issues.
Too bad someone didn’t bring a sign with Mohammed Turbin with a Bomb cartoon. Having muslims seethe at our free speech laws is the only way most of America will ever wake up from their somnambulant stupor.

Bruce states:
*There is many Jews born here in America as well as Muslims born here. For some peoples information it wasn’t government officials that let Muslims in the country, they have been coming since Columbus’s time.*
Are you Muslim? Where is your documentation for the statement that Muslims have been coming to America since Columbus’ time? That is an untrue statement, and you seem to be using it to justify some type of sharia law. Also, your whole comment sounds like it is straight from CAIR’s talking points.
A pacifist attitude and a phony “all sides are equally guilty” moral equivalence is 1) false–the Muslims ALWAYS start the violence and 2) extremely naive–only Muslims benefit from a pacifist, unconfrontational attitude.
I am so glad Debbie is safe, no thanks to that Muslim Egyptian police officer. Whenever Muslims immigrate to a non-Muslim country, the first thing they try to do is to infiltrate places like law enforcement in their jihad.

Gabe on January 9, 2009 at 4:34 pm

This is America! Things like this are not supposed to happen to Americans! Where is the media outrage? Where are the arrest warrants, and the mug shots? I am very glad you are safe and admire your bravery in standing for Israel knowing full well that your opponents would exploit your celebrity if they discovered your identity. That took a lot of chutzpa!
We are in a war for the soul of America and Israel is a contentious issue that might actually decide the outcome. In a war, the brave and able go to the battleground to stop the battleground from coming to the rest.
Be careful out there among the heathens and what ever you do, don’t feed the animals!!

Mewize on January 9, 2009 at 5:12 pm

Bruce, you’re being a “useful idiot.” Don’t you listen to what these folks say (when not dissimulating), that they want a “Palestine” purged of Jews, that’s their “peace”?
As for you, “TRUTH,” you are anything but. You are a taquiyyah artist as plain as you are crooked, an apologist for terror and genocide–the real, no-quarter-given kind.

John C on January 9, 2009 at 10:05 pm

In the war against Is|amist terrorism, Debbie, you are worth more alive and well than dead as a martyr.
John Hancock addressed the mourners at the funeral of those killed in the Boston Massacre of 1770. His speech rang with words like, “traitors”, “murderers”, “thieves”, “riot and debauchery,” “violence and outrage,” “extravagance and effeminacy,” and “infamy and ruin.” He reviled King George III as the devil: “heaven in anger, for a dreadful moment suffered hell to take the reins when Satan, with his chosen band, opened the sluices of New-England’s blood, and sacrilegiously polluted our land with the dead bodies of her guiltless sons.” “Standing armies are sometimes, (I would by no means say generally, much less universally,) composed of persons who have rendered themselves unfit to live in civil society… who for the addition of one penny a day to their wages, would desert from the Christian cross, and fight under the crescent of the Turkish sultan… With such as these, usurping Caesar passed the Rubicon… and forced the mistress of the world to own a master in a traitor…”
“Hancock, from this time, became as odious to the royal governor [and] his adherents, as he was dear to the republican party.”
In 1775, John Hancock, a very well-to-do gentleman of 38 years, wanted to engage the Redcoats face-to-face, or sword-to-sword, as it were, at the Battle of Lexington, site of “the shot heard ’round the world.” But his companions constrained him and Samuel Adams from engaging the British Regulars at Lexington and Concord.
“It now became an object of some importance to the royal governor, to get possession of the persons of Mr. Hancock and Samuel Adams; and this is said to have been intended in the expedition to Concord, which led to the memorable battle of Lexington, the opening scene of the revolutionary war. Notwithstanding the secrecy with which that expedition was planned, these patriots, who were at the time members of the provincial congress at Concord, fortunately made their escape; but it was only at the moment the British troops entered the house where they lodged.”
Lives of the Signers to the Declaration of Independence, by Rev. Charles A. Goodrich; New York: William Reed & Co., 1856; pages 78 and 79.
Debbie, we count on you to write the newscopy and the captions. Let someone else take the pictures.
