Police Ignore Anti-Christian Hate Crime b/c It’s Not Anti-Muslim

By Debbie Schlussel

Hmmm … a family with a “Happy Birthday, Jesus” sign in front of its home, found the house attacked with anti-Christian graffiti.  But Bakersfield Police dismissed it as no big deal and aren’t treating it like a hate crime.  Do you think the family would get the same lackadaisical response from police if they were the Al-Khansa family and they had a sign that said, “Happy Ramadan?”  Think again.  As I’ve been saying for more than a decade, there is a double standard for the religions.  One standard for Muslims.  And, the other religions, fuhgedaboudit.   So much for the Constitution’s Establishment Clause, which was castrated long ago.

A family’s front yard holiday decorations were defaced with graffiti, but it gets worse. The family says this is not just vandalism – they think it’s a hate crime.

“It’s disgusting, hurtful, a slap in the face to our religion,” Jimmie Cannon told Eyewitness News on Tuesday.

The graffiti sprayed on the garage door is the numbers “666” and an upside-down cross. . . .

[Cannon’s] father has a large Christian display on the walkway and the front yard.

“It’s a ‘Happy Birthday, Jesus’ sign, and John 3:16 above the door frame,” Cannon described. Both are homemade and light up. They are near the graffiti. . . .

Jimmie Cannon said she called the sheriff’s department to ask for an investigation but was told the incident was only a misdemeanor.

But, Cannon said she called back a second time and was told a deputy would come out to take a report. . . .

Asked whether this could be investigated as a hate crime, the spokesman said that would likely be up to the district attorney’s office if a case is forwarded to it.

The Cannon family wants the suspects found, and they want action.

Good luck with that. My advice to the Cannon family is that if they want action, they should change their surname to Bazzi or Mohammed.

Reader Duane:

Had this been a muslim home, it would have been declared a hate-crime immediately, tolerance marches would be organized, and a team of FBI agents would have been sent in to find the evil-doer. Some animals really are more equal.

Exactly. We only take hate crimes in America seriously if they are against Muslims.

Some hate crimes are created more equal than others.

The FBI has shown zero interest in investigating and prosecuting hate crimes against Debbie.

If she was Muslim, it would have been an entirely different story.

We are already living de facto under Sharia in America.

California is a fecal impaction. The whole damn state.

Since I became interested in politics and social trends in the mid 1980s, it has amazed me how far the left will go to elevate others above what has been considered the “silent majority.” The only reason our nation recognizes “hate crimes” is because of how progressives have pushed the idea that crimes committed against minority groups or non white/Chritian groups some how must be elevated above “crimes committed against the majority.”

I think it is time that when crimes are committed, regardless who the victim is – that all are considered equal under the law – in this case, if the anti-Islamic crimes are considered as a hate crime, then the anti-Christian crime featured here should be prosecuted exactly the same. After all, we have prided ourselves as all being equal under the law…

Discipulus Publius on January 3, 2012 at 6:17 pm

If the victim had been gay, the police in the land of the fruits and the nuts would have been all over the case. Did you know that the LA Sheriff’s Department squad cars assigned to West Hollywood actually have a Rainbow Gay Pride decal on everyone of their patrol cars? The LA serial arsonist arrested yesterday was photographed being put into one of these gay flagged squad cars. The left wing Democrat Party’s primary goal is to turn every state into California through the federalization of America.

    More hate crime BS.
Old story here, but a WHITE GAY bar owner gets stomped to death by three black thugs and NOT robbed of over $500 in his pocket but the (incompetent idiot) DA doesn’t see it as a Hate Crime.

So now there’s a Hate Crime ‘caste’ system?

Ya, say something about Muslims blocking the streets in NY or announcing prayers on loudspeakers and all hell breaks loose. Lowes drops it’s ads on the Taqiyya filled travesty called American Muslim and the law goes ballistic!!! But let’s make fun of Tim Tebow and mock his faith publicly and it’s a nationwide joke!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael Doran on January 3, 2012 at 7:01 pm

Travesty. But not a huge surprise. What would be surprising is if a lib media outlet was to, I don’t know, say, DO A STORY about this disgusting display of hate.

The Bakersfield Police Department really exposed itself here. I can imagine the interfaith prayer vigils, fundraising, and sobbing that would have occurred if Mustafa’s shack had been spray painted.

Speaking of the Iowa Caucus:

Romney and Santorum tied at 24%. Paul in third at 23%.

Its on the New Hampshire.

NormanF on January 3, 2012 at 9:52 pm

The double-standard is sickening.

JeffE on January 3, 2012 at 11:39 pm

Further Iowa Caucus update:

With 96% of the preceints reporting, Rick Santorum is in first place by 109 votes; Mitt Romney is in second place; Ron Paul will finish in third place. Unfortunetely, Michelle Bachmann will finish in sixth place.

On to New Hampshire…

JeffE on January 3, 2012 at 11:44 pm

People will be talking about this – Santorum has been polling 4% nationally and he came from behind to win first in the IA caucuses. A great night for him and I think conservatives will rally around him.

As for Ron Paul, his support came from Democrats and independent voters. He won’t do well in states that have a closed party primary.

The conservative end of the GOP field was winnowed out last night and as much as I like Michele Bachmann, I don’t see her being the nominee. Possibly a VP slot for her.

It’ll probably end up being a race between Romney and Santorum and while the elite and the media favor Romney, most GOP voters want someone else. So we have a good idea of whom conservatives will go with as this election year goes on.

Keep in mind that McCain came in 4th in Iowa and ended up the running for president.

petebone on January 4, 2012 at 10:49 am

I’ve always tended to associate Bakersfield with Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. This news is sad and sickening.

Not Ovenready on January 4, 2012 at 1:02 am

So Ron Paul is this year’s McCain in terms of Dems who don’t have a primary to vote in being free to vote in GOP primaries and screw things up?

Except that McCain’s support wasn’t necessarily a result of Dems wanting to sabotage the GOP, but rather, Dems wanting one of their own to be the GOP candidate as well as the Dem candidate. This time, the latter is not so much the case w/ Ron Paul, but he does have support from the pro-Islamic and anti-Semitic voters, who don’t have to vote in a Dem primary.

Norm is right that Paul will lose badly in closed states, but some of the pretty big states are open, such as CA, so Paul does have to survive until then. His best strategy would be to appeal to a section of the Democrat base, so that he gets his numbers from there. He can’t get it in his party, or else, he’d have been the candidate 4 years ago.

I too am disappointed that Bachmann is not likely to be the candidate, but after her, I do support Santorum. Hopefully, he picks a senator as his running mate, maybe Mitch McConnell, or someone like Allan West.

Infidel on January 4, 2012 at 6:27 am

This definitely proves that Mittens is not the fovored choice for most Republicans. Good. I hope Mitt and Newt wear each other down and leave the field open.

At this point I’d like to see:

    Santorum-West
    White House
    2012
And a nice spot in there
    for Bachmann too.

theShadow on January 4, 2012 at 11:43 pm

Final count – Romney has taken the state by 8 votes. On to NH…

On another note, hope that Perry & Newt drop out soon.

To make a long story short: in they eyes of the investigators, “Whitey had it coming”.

Welcome to Planet Animal Farm. Thanks, Orwell.

Oh the over 240 million Christian Fascists have so much to worry about in this country. Do not worry Jesus Tebow will save you. Why do the mentally ill Christians in this country feel so scared, and believe there is a Muslim lurking around every corner, who wants to replace their man made trash religion with another man made trash religion. Now these are the same Christian Fascists who want to impose “Judeo-Christian Sharia Law” on the intelligent people in this country, who chose not to live in a country governed by ignorant Christian, or any other Religious dogma. Grow up children of the mind and give up your hateful religion that condemns GOOD people to a fiery eternal hell, because they do not believe the same man made trash you idiot sheeple have allowed your HATEFUL minds to be indoctrinated with. Shame on all “Christian Haters of GOOD”. Give up your GREEDY desire for eternal life, which is the only reason you belong to the HATEFUL cult of Christianity. You are already in paradise if you have nothing but LOVE for all people.

Ronald Ahrens on January 10, 2012 at 12:43 pm

Well now you all know how muslims feel.

I remember Debbie Schlussel cheered anti arab pogroms in her articles on WND after 9/11. She said that america was being too tolerent. She also supported apartheid.

People like her are why I am not a christian and never will be one.
