Where I’ve Been Today

By Debbie Schlussel
Just got back from screening, “Marley & Me,” based on the best-seller about a writer’s family and their dog. Can’t post my review until it opens on Christmas Day, but I’ll say this: Save your pennies for movies on that day–there’s a lotta good stuff. Stay tuned for my complete review at Midnight, just as the holiday begins.
Until then, here’s the trailer, which simply doesn’t do it justice:

“What one of you has the most authority in the relationship?” And he walks off.
That sums up the movie pretty well.

I can’t wait to see this movie! I saw a commericial for it and it looked really cute! Thanks for the update Debbie! I can’t wait to see your full review.

I read the book in one airplane flight to California, and never laughed so hard. People around me must have thought I was crazy. If the movie is half as good as the book, it has to be a winner.
Every dog caretaker/lover (we don’t own them we just take care of them) will see some part of themselves in Marley and his family.

Debbie, I have read “Bad Dog Marley” aloud umpteen times to a certain 4 year old who thinks it’s quality reading. The same kid only tolerates actual works of art like “Peter Rabbit.” FYI most modern kids books, aside from lacking any artistic merit, depict dumpy women and effeminate men in the illustrations. “Marley” is a typical example.
