So Sad, Too Bad: Parents Who Named Kid “Hitler” Can’t Find Bakery for B-Day Cake

By Debbie Schlussel
Wish I could say I feel sorry for little Adolf Hitler Campbell, who lives near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Sunday was his third birthday, and his parents couldn’t find a bakery to agree to make a birthday cake for someone with a name honoring contemporary time’s greatest mass murderer.
But at age three, the kid doesn’t know enough about what’s going on to feel bad. And when he is old enough, he’ll already be fully ingrained with his insane parents’ neo-Nazi hatred. This can be a good lesson for little Adolf in how Americans feel about Nazis and Holocaust denial, ie., that some Americans still have an iota of values and principles
His parents, Heath and Deborah Campbell, are Holocaust deniers who’ve named their other kids, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, a girl named for Schutzstaffel head Heinrich Himmler. Let me guess–JoyceLynn (if she’s smart, and defies her parents’ DNA) will not include her joyous middle names on her resume.

Awwww: Charming Adolf Hitler Campbell & Loving Neo-Nazi Social Security-Soaking Parents

Oh, and by the way, the Campbells don’t work. They’re living off of you. Mr. Campbell says that at age 35, he can’t work because of emphysema. He’s soaking taxpayers to pay for his Nazi memorabilia collection. Mrs. Campbell, in her mid-20s, says she can’t waitress because of a bad back. Tell that to every waitress in America, who breaks her back and doesn’t live off of social security at age 25.

In a living room decorated with war books, German combat knives and swastikas, a 2-year-old boy, blond and blue-eyed, played with a plastic dinner set.
The boy, asked his name, put down a tiny plate and ran behind his father’s leg. He flashed a shy smile but wouldn’t answer. Heath Campbell, 35, the boy’s father, encouraged him.
“Say Adolf,” said Campbell, a Holocaust denier who has three children named for Nazism.
Again, the boy wouldn’t answer. It wasn’t the first time the name caused hesitation.
Adolf Hitler Campbell — it’s indeed the name on his birth certificate — turns 3 today, and the Campbell family believes the boy has been mistreated. A local supermarket refused to make a birthday cake with “Adolf Hitler” on it.
The ShopRite in Greenwich Township has also refused to make a cake bearing the name of Campbell’s daughter, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, who turns 2 in February.
Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, a girl named for Schutzstaffel head Heinrich Himmler, turns 1 in April.
“ShopRite can’t even make a cake for a 3-year-old,” said Deborah Campbell, 25, who is Heath’s wife of three years and the mother of the children. “That’s sad.”. . .
Karen Meleta, a ShopRite spokeswoman, said the grocer tries to meet customer requests but rejects those deemed inappropriate. “We believe the request to inscribe a birthday wish to Adolf Hitler is inappropriate,” she said.
The grocer offered to make a cake with enough room for the Campbells to write their own inscription. But the Campbells refused, saying they would have a cake made at the Wal-Mart in Lower Nazareth Township. The Campbells say Wal-Mart made cakes for Adolf’s first two birthdays.
A spokeswoman for Wal-Mart said the store won’t put anything illegal or profane on a cake but thinks it’s important to respect the views of customers and employees.
“Our No. 1 priority in decorating cakes is to serve the customer to the best of our ability,” Anna Taylor, the spokeswoman, said from Bentonville, Ark. . . .
The Campbells have swastikas in each room of their home, the rented half of a one-story duplex just outside Milford, a borough in Hunterdon County. . . .
The Campbells said they wanted their children to have unique names and didn’t expect the names to cause problems. Despite the cake refusal, the Campbells said they don’t expect the names to cause problems later, such as when the children start school.
“I just figured that they’re just names,” Deborah Campbell said. “They’re just kids. They’re not going to hurt anybody.” . . .
“They’re just names, you know,” [Heath Campbell] said. “Yeah, they (Nazis) were bad people back then. But my kids are little. They’re not going to grow up like that.”
“Other kids get their cake. I get a hard time,” he said. “It’s not fair to my children.
“How can a name be offensive?” he asked. . . .
Disabilities, the couple says, have left both out of work: Heath Campbell can’t landscape or pump gas because he has emphysema, and Deborah can’t waitress because she has a bad back. They live on Social Security payments.
In the foyer, Heath Campbell, who said he has German ancestry and a relative who fought for the SS, took off boots he said were worn by a Nazi solider named Daniel.
He laid them next to a skull with a swastika on its forehead, the first of dozens of swastikas seen by the Campbells’ rare guests.
There are swastikas on walls, on jackets, on the freezer and on a pillow. The family car had swastikas, Heath Campbell said, until New Jersey’s Department of Children and Families told him they could endanger the children.

I’m actually surprised and gratified to see that ShopRite won’t do the cake, especially in these tough economic times and days of political correctness so dominant that anything goes. Jeers to Wal-Mart, which never seems to have any principles, whether it means pressuring contractors to hire illegal aliens or having no qualms about glorifying Nazis.
I wonder if–but don’t expect–places like ShopRite will have the same resolve when asked to do up a birthday cake for kids named Hezbollah Smith, or Osama Bin Laden Jones, or I Luv Nine-Eleven Anderson. Don’t laugh–Muslims in Dearborn have scheduled kids’ births for 9/11 and have named their kids “Khomeini,” for the Islamic fundamentalist leader who took our Embassy officials hostage and helped lead the creation of Hezbollah.

My grgrgrandfather immigrated to the US from Germany in the late 1800’s. His first name was Adolph. By 1930 he changed his first name to Edward and place of birth to France. A simple stone mason knew something evil was connected to that name. He was a member of The Mutual Aid Society. I’m sure you know what that was, they helped Jews immigrate to the US. My grgrgrandfather was a Catholic. These parents are more aware of what is attached to that name than my grgrgrandfatehr could ever have guessed. They have made their children open to all sorts of taunts and heartache.

The family that heils together smiles together?

Jeers to Wal-Mart, which never seems to have any principles
It’s a give and take kind of world. I hate Wal-Mart; I’ve never set foot in one. I was disappointed when they finally got a foothold in my county. My brother’s family is in Arkansas. They single-source virtually everything from Wal-Mart.
Keep in mind that Wal-Mart did remove the “Islam is the light” Baby Coo doll from the shelves. It’s a give and take kind of world.

Demented people. And no hope for those kids.

Business should have the right to deny service if they don’t want to participate in something they feel appalled with. Just like churches shouldn’t have to marry gay couples. Wal-Mart should have the right to say no. However, lawyers will say they were discriminated and the legal cost would be more than just putting on some silly frosting. Make the loser pay and people’s mentality will start changing. Not a big fan of Wal-Mart but every whack job comes to file lawsuits on them because they have deep pockets. Wal-Mart will then cave and anything they deem inappropriate will be banned. Political correctness wins.
I have been to gun shows with swastikas flying inside at certain booths. Walk by them and go to another booth. It won’t change my mind to buy at a gun show. Do I wish they weren’t there? Yes. I am not going to stop buying a gun from someone else there who operates with some sanity.
Very sad to torture your child with a name like that.

This is an awful story … that poor kid ending up with such clueless parents. If their belief (or non belief, depending on how you look at it) led them to name their kid that way, then why didn’t the two of them simply have their own names changed legally … his new name could be Mengele Moron Maggot Campbell, and hers, Herta Hitler Whore Campbell.

Is that his mother or his grandmother? Is that his father or his brother? Pervs.

It should be drummed into the heads of these Nazi morons that their savior of the German Volk, Hitler, demanded the complete destruction of what was left of Germany once he realized that the war was lost. He accused the German people of being unworthy of their fatherland since they were defeated by racial inferiors, and insisted that everyone be immolated. This was according to the testimony of Albert Speer, who was with him in the bunker at the end of the war. Additionally, Hitler’s increasing irrationality, inexcusable blunders in planning strategy (especially his decision to attack the USSR before defeating Britain), and sheer hubris resulted in the deaths of many Germans on the Soviet battlefields; many starved or froze to death. Hitler did not care about their fate (I don’t either, but that’s different). These Hitler lovers are too dense to realize that Germans as individuals were utterly expendable. Ultimately, so was Germany.

Call me cruel, but I don’t have much pity for this kid – he’ll easily grow up into another Nazi; he’s got enough influence at home.
Every puppy looks cute, but when it grows up you’ll know what kind of a dog it will turn out to be.
I knew many cute moslem kids in my city in India. Fast forward 10 or 12 years, and they are baying for Israel’s blood, cheering the visit of Abdullah of Saudi to India, rallying against Bush’s visit, celebrating Pakistan’s win over India in cricket matches and so on. Their cuteness is very short-lived. The monster soon shows itself.

Wow, 3 kids that are already starting out with 2 strikes against them (their parents and their names).
She has a bad back and he can’t work but they continue to reproduce,,,,, and be supported by the government. What is wrong with this picture?

cbielinski on December 17, 2008 at 9:18 pm

Had they not got Walmart, they could have found a Muslim bakery somewhere that would have been only too happy to take their order, given that Mohammedans happen to admire Hitler (Mein Kamph being the most translated book in the Arab empire and Turkey)

I’m assuming you can provide some statistical evidence for that?

In my opinion, the lessons that can be learned from this pathetic story have more to do with stupidity versus common sense, and this couple’s lack of love for and respect for, their innocent children. No decent parent is going to make their young children be soldiers in an unpopular and dangerous cause. Decent parents try to protect their children and also would not saddle them with labels that will cause them problems in their school, social and work life. Going through childhood, the teen years and yound adulthood is hard enough without being saddled with names like that, which will draw ridicule, negative feelings and suspicion. I don’t know if it qualifies, but it approaches the level of child abuse. And, another issue is brought to light here that should wake people up. The government and the politicians keep trying to tell us that we shouldn’t be allowed to draw social security checks after we retire at age 65 or older, but yet there are young people like that living off of social security. THAT is why there isn’t enough money in social security. We need to boot people like that off of SS rather than raising the retirement age, reducing benefits or increasing payroll taxes. It is obvious that the people in the article are just white trash who don’t want to work.

Oh Debbie, Debbie, Debbie… these people embarress us all as Americans. I can’t uderstand how these people believe what they say. Coming from German decent myself (my father left Germany in 1934 and would be rolling over in his grave if I ever bought a german product) these people disgust me. Even Hitler would have killed these two, as they are totally inferior, but here in America, the press gives them their 15 minutes of fame. F’ing ponderous!
Where can I apply to get the 15 minutes back they and the press just stole from me?!?

I personally think what name a child is given has a lot of meaning and we should be careful with our choices. Not paranoidly so, just careful and respectful. G-d in the bible was very particular with names. They often reflected the true character of the person that bore them. G-d renamed people as well many times to match how he saw them. With Hitler`s evil legacy, to curse a child with his name is horrid, self centered and very ill thought out. The parents obviously think kids in school won`t tease or bully their kids later in life. “kids are just kids” says the mom. Yeah kids are kids and they can be very cruel. These two are just asking for trouble in the future. I feel bad for the kids.

You can bet, that if his name were:
Karl Marx Campbell
Josef Stalin Campbell
Vladimir Lenin Campbell
Mao Tse-Tung Campbell
Marcus Garvey campbell
Malcolm X Campbell
Che Guevara Campbell
Fidel castro Campbell
Frantz Fanon Campbell
Patrice Lmumba Campbell
Idi Amin Campbell
Robert Mugabe Campbell
Abbie Hoffman Campbell
Jerry Rubin Campbell
Hughie Newton Campbell
Or after ANY Leftist DEVIL/icon,no problem getting that cake made….

OldSchoolW on December 19, 2008 at 1:27 pm

I think it’s very odd that you take offense of some clueless and racist people naming their kids names such as “Adolf” and ” Aryan” yet you have no problem calling the city of Dearborn, “Dearbornistan”.
Don’t you think that is pretty racist as well???
And really, pretty misinformed seeing as the majority of people living in Dearborn that are Arabs hail from Lebanon and not Pakistan or Afghanistan as your nickname would imply.
Why don’t you call Dearborn a more suitable nickname such as “Little Beirut in the West” or the “Bint Jbeil of the Americas”? Or heck, why don’t you just call it “Arabville”? I noticed that the Arabs on Myspace and Facebook seem to refer to it as that.
Why??? There is a very good reason why. Just as the Campbells are naming their children’s names that make them proud of their Caucasian ancestry and bring hails from their other racist friends, you are calling Dearborn “Dearbornistan” to imply that the Arab residents of Dearborn are mainly terrorists.
Either way, each of you are using propaganda to further your agenda of being discriminatory against others.
The sad thing is that one of the parties is a nationally renowned journalist and attorney while the other is comprised of two out of work losers that sponge off of the Welfare system.
Now who’s the bigger bigot? Or ignoramus for that matter?

Leilani on December 22, 2008 at 3:44 pm

Hey Leilani,
The truth is that when you have an entire city like Dearborn that turns out in droves to celebrate the deaths of Jews and Christians and sends funds to support HAMAS and other terrorist organizations, then that city IS full of Arab terrorists, and just to show how much they appreciate your brainless support of their causes, they will kill you last.
