Federal Sources: Fitzgerald Held Off Blagojevich Bust to Protect Obama Election Chances; Did Obama Fail Ethics Requirements of Illinois Bar?

By Debbie Schlussel
A federal source of mine with ties to Chicago says that FBI agents had enough to prosecute corrupt, helmet-haired Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich back in June, when he was already engaged in some of the blackmail and extortion alleged by the FBI affidavit and other documents associated with his arrest and prosecution.
The source says that the FBI was suddenly ordered by the U.S. Attorney’s Office–and I believe that order came from the top, ie., U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald and Justice Department officials in Washington–to hold off on doing anything until after the election, so as not to hurt Obama’s White House bid. Here’s what my inside source says.

I know for a fact FBI Chicago had enough to indict Blagojevich in June. They were 2 weeks from indictment in June based on cooperation and testimony at the Stu Levine trial. Levine was Tony Rezko’s bud, fund raiser for Blago, and our President-Elect.

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald: He Protected Them

I wonder what took them so long? My guess is when it started to look like a lock for Obama’s nomination by the Dems, someone at the U.S. Attorney’s Office put it all on hold, so as not to spoil “The Annointed One’s” shot.

Don’t forget how Fitzgerald treated Lewis “Scooter” Libby in going after him (the guy who wasn’t even the source of the leak, and the liberal source of the leak, Richard Armitage wasn’t even scratched). Compare that with this kid gloves treatment of Obamessiah.
Frankly, it’s obvious that Obama knew of the “sale” of the Senate seat. He acknowledged he knew of the “sale,” and “we turned it down.” And I believe he knew far more than he’s letting on.
But as an attorney and officer of the court, he had a duty to report it to authorities or be vulnerable to an attack on his law license with the Illinois State Bar, of which he’s a member.
And it appears, he did not report this to authorities. So, who will be the first to file a grievance against attorney Barack Obama with the appropriate Illinois authorities? Remember, there’s precedent for something like this. There was that certain Democrat President who lost his law license over lying under oath. ‘Memba him?
Have at it.

I don’t know why people are acting so shocked at the revelation that U.S. Senate seats are sold to the highest bidder. This is just how politics in America works. As Virgil Sollozzo referenced in the ‘Godfather’, politicians are carried around in the pockets of powerful men like nickels and dimes.
Ask yourself how a wide-eyed youth like Huessein was able to become a millionare by working as a street organizer and instructor at a college? And rise to the level of President of the United States of America.
As in the Godfather, I’m sure someone is holding his strings.

How did he make money?
You get paid for writing books. And even more if it sells well. Incomprehensible, I know.

Oh boy, is this ever gonna be fun! Somewhere, somehow (in 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years), all that bad Karma that surrounds Obama, based on his past associations, will come home to roost.

And good for Fitzgerald. This was not a life and death situation and OBAMA DID NOTHING WRONG! There was no need to tarnish Obama before election day. Fitzgerald put his country first, it’s about time conservatives did the same.

The Justice Dept. says Obama did nothing wrong and may have been helped by Obama after refusing Blogo. If Obama did anything wrong, The JP would have said something. After all, they did go after Libby.

Hey, if you think Jackson didn’t know something, I have a bridge to sell you!
Good post Debbie…Cheers!

More dirty, sleazy and slum politics by the Chicago crowd……why would anyone be surprised? We don’t have enough jails to hold all the rotten politicians. And, does anyone wonder why many have given up on electing honest and good people to public office? Sadly, all you need to vote is a pulse….and in Chicago, you don’t even need a pulse! What a country!!!

You deserve a lot of credit for brining up the deliberate delay aspect of this. I haven’t seen it anywhere else. It looks like the sleaze of Illinois politics is now spreading nationally, as if national politics was not sleazy enough already. It is ironic that in the information age, with more and more information available, we as a population have less and less control over what goes on nationally.

More and more I like this guy. He is a loose cannon and liberals are savaging him because he wont give in to liberal playbook of resigning. Shaming him and name calling won’t affect him. Now Illinois AG wants him out.
Damn he is old school politician. Put a cigar in his mouth and top hot. This has to be KING HUSSEIN COBRAMA’s worst nightmare. He has to know where all the bodies are buried. Of all the people to turn on COBRAMA he has the profile.
Chicago and Illinois deserves all the crooks they voted in.
Hopefully he stays in for months if not his whole term. Liberals worst nightmare. This will be worth watching.
Deflector shields on, Full speed ahead, Blago.

No californiascreaming, this would be the liberals worst nightmare:
Bush resigns immediately, making Cheney the President. Cheney then appoints Condi Rice as the Vice President. Then Cheney resigns as President making Rice the country’s first Black President.
Presto!!! Liberals heads begin to implode all across the country.

I have two comments:
1) As someone who has lived in Chicago for over 75% of my life, the only thing that shocks me about this scandal is that people are shocked. This is how Chicago works. Face it folks, this is nothing compared to what happened in 1960 when the mayor of Chicago rigged the Presidential election that was actually won by Richard Nixon and changed enough votes to fraudulently make John F. Kennedy the winner.
2) I don’t think Fitzgerald is the bad guy here. I honestly believe (based on what a former federal prosecutor who worked with him told me) he would indict his own mother for jaywalking if he could. Yes, I know what happened in the investigation of what happened in the outing of Valerie Plame, and that tends to go against what I am saying here. Perhaps he decided the law was not broken by Armitage.
If an indictment should have been brought either earlier or later, perhaps Fitzgerald had orders from DC to do otherwise.
Besides, there were rumors all around that Fitzgerald was actually investigating Obama himself. However, I have not seen or heard much of them recently.

The only “change” that the liberal media brought is the Clinton administration presided by a half-black thing.
What goes around comes around.
We ain’t seen nothing yet.
Scandals after scandals.
And he didn’t even started yet his four years.
If you’re not honest from the beginning, you will have a miserable end.
One day, “change” will mean for Obama, “what have I done to be here? What was I thinking?”
Enjoy it Obama, too late now baby. You asked for it.
You want to hold the title of “first black president.”
Yeah right!
Boy! Are we gonna have fun!
Just let’s hope that he don’t screw up the country more than it already is.

I’ve always told my kids that when I die, I want to be buried in Chicago. After all, I’ll still want to be involved in politics!

Reported Rom Emanuel had 6 phone conversations with Bolgo-sum-a-bitch. He may have been recorded. Can’t wait to hear the tapes!

From Criminal Complaint.
114. Later on November 13, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH spoke with Advisor A.
ROD BLAGOJEVICH asked Advisor A to call Individual A and have Individual A pitch the
idea of the 501(c)(4) to “[President-elect Advisor].” Advisor A said that, “while it’s not said this is a play to put in play other things.” ROD BLAGOJEVICH responded, “correct.”
Advisor A asked if this is “because we think there’s still some life in [Senate Candidate 1]
potentially?” ROD BLAGOJEVICH said, “not so much her, but possibly her. But others.”
This is important because the media is covering Obama’s ass. The infamous “they’re not willing
to give me anything except appreciation. F*** them.” occurred on Nov. 11. Media is trying portray all discussions with Blagojevich and Obama camp ended here and that Obama was above this deal-making. Looks as if Blagojevich was frustrated with Obama, but talks continued.
Criminal complaints state discussions were going on for two more days at the least (as stated above #114). Criminal complaint ends. However it does not indicate if talks ceases or continued. More evidence may not have been revealed.
One funny item not mentioned in media is Blagojevich contempt for Jackson,Jr. From criminal complaint:
ROD BLAGOJEVICH told Fundraiser A to tell Individual D that ROD
BLAGOJEVICH had a problem with Senate Candidate 5 just promising to help ROD
BLAGOJEVICH because ROD BLAGOJEVICH had a prior bad experience with Senate
Candidate 5 not keeping his word.
Wow a Jackson not being honest? Who would have thought?

“A federal source of mine”
Does this alleged “source” have a name?
Quoting anonymous sources = pitiful.
