No Tears For Al-Qaeda’s “Jewish American” Hostage, Warren Weinstein

By Debbie Schlussel

You’ll hear no tears from me over Warren Weinstein, the Jewish American hostage taken by Al-Qaeda in Pakistan.  Weinstein not only worked for USAID, but, after retiring, decided to remain in Pakistan–for SEVEN years–working for a private contractor.  That’s the lifestyle of a far-leftist who is Jewish and American in name only.  We all know what happened to Daniel Pearl, who also went to Pakistan of his own accord, just as Weinstein did.  Pearl was kidnapped, beheaded, and chopped up like a chicken for dinner because he went to interview individuals he knew were bent on America’s destruction . . . and the Jews’ destruction.  But he went anyway.  And Warren Weinstein chose to live in Pakistan for seven years as a private citizen.

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

What kind of “American”–what kind of “Jew”–does that?  One who has zero emotional or moral ties to either of those words. Weinstein is supposed to be some sort of expert in “development,” but the only Jews and the only Americans interested in developing Pakistan are the ones who turn a blind eye to Pakistan’s attacks on American soldiers, tourists in Mumbai, and the attack on the Mumbai Chabad Lubavitch Jewish Center. Sleeping with the enemy gives you much more than herpes.

It’s not exactly rocket science to know that if you are Jewish (or Christian) and you go to Pakistan, you are a sitting duck.  But these left-wing morons go there anyway, just like the Iranian hikers and the three American “frat boys” who dropped fire bombs on Egyptian police.  And all of these groups of people deserve everything they get.  We shouldn’t be expending political or monetary capital to secure their releases.  But, predictably, that’s what we do.  No tears from me for these idealistic-about-Muslims idiots.  Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri said he’s using hostage Weinstein in a bid to get America to stop its military operations and Israel to stop “its siege” on Gaza, when, in fact, the only siege in Gaza is the one by HAMAS. Good luck with that.  Still, it shows the cowardice of Al-Qaeda, kidnapping a 70-year-old man to get what it wants. While I pray for his safety, he put himself in this mess and will get “extra special treatment” from Al-Qaeda because he is Jewish, even though he probably has as much regard for Jews as Al-Qaeda does.

More:

In a newly released audio message, al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri claims that his organization is holding hostage Warren Weinstein, a 70-year-old American who went missing in August in Pakistan.

Zawahiri’s statement is the first official claim of responsibility by any group in relation to the kidnapping, and a U.S. official said the statement buttressed earlier “indications” that al Qaeda might be holding the American.

“I tell the captive soldiers of Al Qaeda and the Taliban and our female prisoners held in the prisons of the crusaders and their collaborators, we have not forgotten you and in order to free you we have taken hostage the Jewish American Warren Weinstein,” says Zawahiri in the 30-minute statement, which appeared on jihadi websites Thursday and otherwise focuses mainly on the situation in his native Egypt.

The leader of Al Qaeda addresses Weinstein’s family, telling them that “your government tortures our prisoners, but we have not tortured your prisoner.” He also warns them not to trust President Obama’s assurances that everything is being done to secure Weinstein’s release, accusing the president of wishing “[Weinstein] would be killed to get rid of his problem.” . . .

In exchange for Weinstein’s release, Zawahiri requests the lifting of the Israeli “siege” of the Gaza strip, the complete end of “bombings by America and its allies in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia and Gaza,” the release of all al Qaeda and Taliban prisoners and the closing down of the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo bay, Cuba, in addition to the release of members of Osama bin Laden’s family. . . .

In August, Pakistani police arrested three men in connection with the kidnapping. Weinstein, a private U.S. citizen who has lived in Pakistan for seven years, was sleeping in his bed when assailants burst into his home to snatch him. The former USAID worker is currently employed by the private U.S.-based development firm J.E. Austin Associates.

Why are we giving aid to this country when we know its ISI is behind so many attacks on American soldiers in Afghanistan, the Mumbia terrorist attacks, and so many other such murderous anti-Western activity?

The only aid we should be giving them is a kick in the pants and more than a few explosions.

Of course we should.

And we should be informing Americans that if they travel to known Islamic terrorist sanctuaries and something happens to them, they are on their own. We shouldn’t be expending US taxpayers’ money and sacrificing American interests to rescue people whose stupidity harms America.

Unfortunately, the Obama Administration is far more stupid than the left-wing idiots it rescues from their own self-inflicted stupidity.

That among other things, is why Islamic terrorists kidnap American cretins abroad. Terrorism pays.

Debbie all the money and aid we send Muslim countries ends up paying for this kind of stuff or worse. The good news is the Colts’ starting QB this Sunday is a Jew (who used to play for the DS/Detroit Lions).

Debbie… NATO did that to their army a week back and abjectly apologized. I don’t know why that was even necessary. Let’s not forget Pakistan’s government gave Osama Bin Laden a safe house within a few hundred yards of a military school and it was just an “oversight” that they neglected to inform the US government about it for years as they took our money and looked the other way and actively sabotaged our war against Al Qaeda and the Taliban. And we’re still giving them aid and they’re laughing their heads of at us for our wanton dhimmitude. Pakistan is not and has never been an ally. Sadly, our top officials for their own reasons, want to look the other way there. I don’t really blame Weinstein. After all, if our country considers it “kosher” to do business with Pakistan – don’t expect average Americans not to let their own greed get the better of them.

NormanF on December 2, 2011 at 3:12 pm

Now I am not accusing Weinstein of anything, but let’s note that a lot of American men stay behind in 3rd world nations because they can sleep with young girls. Cambodia, Thailand, India, and Pakistan are just a few countries where Westerners can go for a young piece.

Weinstein was probably most motivated by stupidity. Why didn’t he work on a kibbutz in Israel, where it is safer, and the food is better? Why not support the work being done to ensure the survival of the Dead Sea?

Jonathan E. Grant on December 2, 2011 at 3:25 pm

Jon, there is a sex tourism industry in the Third World but the hidden secret is much of the prostitution is by Muslim men who get to sleep with young women under the cover of sham “temporary marriages.” And the frauds and hypocrites are the clerics who lecture the rest of us about the need for Islamic modesty even while they hand out licenses for religiously sanctioned prostitution. Whatever Western men do in Third World countries, at least they’re not pretending to be faithful.

NormanF on December 2, 2011 at 3:35 pm

Jon, on the issue of why Warren Weinstein didn’t live and work in Israel is because there is nothing even nominally Jewish about him apart from the name. My late father was a proud Israeli citizen and he served Israel for a good part of his life. I wouldn’t put people like Weinstein in his league. If he’s stupid enough to live in a place where he stood out like a duck, what happened to him was entirely predictable. I wouldn’t give the likes of him the time of day.

Don’t know if this is Photo-Shopped or not but its fun getting a rise out of the Islamic frauds and hypocrites in Pakistan:

I’m sure that not’s Veena Malik, the Pakistani actress who tangled with Islamic clerics in her country awhile back.

NormanF on December 2, 2011 at 3:29 pm

    Looks like her.

Canadian Steve on December 9, 2012 at 7:46 am

He was a fool. I reserve my sympathy for those who do not put themselves deliberately in harm’s way for no good reason.

worry01 on December 2, 2011 at 4:30 pm

People who deliberately put themselves in harm’s way will never learn there is a price to be paid for their foolishness as long as someone always comes along to bail them out of it. If we had common sense, we would leave them there to rot and to suffer the consequences of their own stupidity.

NormanF on December 2, 2011 at 5:01 pm

Does anyone here know (in detail) about a fire-fight that took place a few months back between the ISI and American Military Men in Pakistan? It was after a meeting of some sorts.

I heard a bit about it on Winterble’s show and it was intriguing. But I have not heard anyone else mention it. Sounded like it was vital to know about…

Skunky on December 2, 2011 at 5:50 pm

Thank you!
I was thinking the same thing when I heard he was captured.
You pays your money, you takes your chances!
Stupid to be in a hostile place like that anyway.

As I have stated in my letters in the American Spectator, our correct defense policy is to hit Teheran with a 3-5 megaton Nuke. Groundburst for maximum contamination. Now. No warning.Announcements come after Teheran has been “Black rained.”

Immediately fter that, announce that we are stopping searches on our pre-flights for our planes, and we are withdrawing our troops from Afghanistan and Iraq with heads held high because we wish not to nation build scum.

Inform the Islamic numbnuts that we are tired of fighting with them and protecting their civilians. Let them know that ANY further terrorist attacks by Muslims, or backed by Muslims on our nation or our allies will be met with nuclear force, and that the destruction of Teheran for the Iranian regime’s illgal occupation of our embassy in 1979 was just the first step. Let them know the next targets will be Mecca and Medina. Let them know that any stoppage or reduction in oil will be considered an act of war. Let them, contemplate the destruction of Teheran. let them know no help is forthcoming from us for rescue eforts for any survivors from there, as they are “dead to us.” Let them know we will veto ANY Security Council resolutions or other international sanctioning us.

It is only the cowardice of our leaders in not killing our sworn enemies which is keeping this war going. If the enemies think we are TRULY dangerous, potentially violent, easily angered, and unpredictably cruel when crossed, they will fear us and step down into a submissive position.

Occam's Tool on December 2, 2011 at 8:01 pm

That is EXACTLY what needs to be done. As well as deportation of any muslim on American soil that so much as peeps one word of protest. Well actually if they protest they should be shot as traitors. Deportation would be “civilized”.

Canadian Steve on December 9, 2012 at 2:05 am

Sorry for the typos. The point is simply this, as discussed by Stuart Slade in his excellent series of novels: what if American foreign policy revolved around the concept of DESTROYING our military enemies rather than Fighting with them?

Occam's Tool on December 2, 2011 at 10:14 pm

But Obama will get him freed, and the liberals will use this as one more example (sic) that Obama is a friend of Jewish people and Israel. Just like his belated call to Egypt helped free the six security guards. When you can’t point to policy to say that someone is sympathetic to Jewish interests, you point to humanitarian actions, no matter how limited or belated.

Little Al on December 3, 2011 at 8:20 am

Can we blame Weinstein’s stupid actions on Alzheimer’s or is this the usual case of a self hating Jew? Either way it’s our tax dollars that will probably set him free.

Naomi R on December 3, 2011 at 8:45 pm

Sadly – you’re right – our government is going to work to free him cuz we don’t know well enough to let left-wing morons learn their lesson from getting into trouble not traveling to places they shouldn’t be visiting in the first place.

NormanF on December 3, 2011 at 8:58 pm

After the recent Netanyahu approved prisoner swap, no Jew, or American is safe anywhere. It true that Pakistan is no place for a Jewish Amirican The real blame lies with the wrong headed appeasement of terrorists, not on the victim.

Jimbo on December 4, 2011 at 9:04 am

Excellent post, Debbie, as well as those comments that agree with it.

JeffE on December 4, 2011 at 11:50 am

Little Al- you’re right on the money.

Not Ovenready on December 5, 2011 at 12:18 am

Peter Hitchens (London Daily Mail), who has traveled there (Iran) extensively says most Iranians he encountered are pro-West. Unfortunately, they are saddled with a corrupt and less than half-witted leadership.

Does that sound familiar? Blair/Bush/Cameron/Obama anyone?

Nir Lieu on December 5, 2011 at 6:30 am

Your first sentence is crappy because tears can’t be heard. Moving on. Apparently he made choices you wouldn’t have made but to disparage an individual who is the victim of a kidnapping is low. I thought Judaism was a religion of compassion and love and not a religion of ‘it serves you right.’

Laura on June 2, 2012 at 1:57 am

If Warren Weinstein had any love for ‘The State of Israel’ he wouldn’t have in his wildest dreams visited that Jew-hating country.
Do you know that when some Iranian Jews early on in the Irananian revolution of 1979, managed to smuggle themselves out of Iran in the early 1980s managing to get into Pakistan, they were beaten with sticks as soon as some Pakistanis recognized them as being Jews. If I was confronted by a deadly poisenous Snake and a Pakistani at the same time, I would make sure that the Pakistani was killed first, I would sooner trust the Snake.

Samir S. Halabi on January 9, 2013 at 5:13 am

I agree with Laura. This is one of the most disgusting, hate-filled articles I have ever read. Weinstein is someone’s husband, father, and grandfather. You know nothing about the details of his work or his reasons for continuing his work.
