Let ‘Em Rot: 3 US Students Arrested for Aiding Muslim Violence in Egypt
Hey, there is now an American version of Occupy Cairo, and it involves idiotic, non-Muslim Americans involved in Muslim violence in Egypt.
Has America learned from the price we paid–in millions of dollars and years of wasted “diplomacy”–for the three America-hating “American hikers” in Iran? I bet not. And I predict that we will waste more money and efforts to secure the freedom of three spoiled “American” brats who deserve to rot–Derrik Sweeney, Luke Gates, and Gregory Porter, all of whom are no different than Islamic terrorists. The three were arrested by Egyptian police for throwing firebombs from a rooftop onto Egyptian security forces trying to quell Cairo’s latest demonstration of why Muslims need a brutal dictator to rule them. If we were smart, we’d send a message to other Americans seeking to do this and let these three rot in the paradise of an Egyptian jail.
Derrik Sweeney, a 19-year-old Georgetown University student from Jefferson City, Mo., was arrested along with Luke Gates, a 21-year-old Indiana University student from Bloomington, Ind., and Gregory Porter, a 19-year-old Drexel University student from Glenside, Pa.
An Egyptian official said the students were arrested on the roof of a university building where they were throwing firebombs at security forces fighting with protesters near Tahrir Square. . . .
Morgan Roth, spokeswoman for the American University in Cairo, said the three were questioned Tuesday by an Egyptian prosecutor with a U.S. Embassy official present.
Roth said the students have been held by Egyptian authorities since their arrest Monday but she did not know whether they had been formally charged. It wasn’t unusual for American students to get “caught up” in Egyptian politics, she said.
Sweeney’s mother, Joy Sweeney, described him as a principled person who stands up for his beliefs. He attended previous protests but stopped after a demonstration where dozens were killed, she said. He had assured his family the violence wasn’t near him and he was safe.
Still, Joy Sweeney said she wasn’t surprised he went.
“He got caught up in the whole college-change-the-world mentality, and he believes in democracy strongly,” she said.
Yup, that’s the hallmark of democracy and peace–firebombs!
Their parents said Sweeney and Gates had been in Cairo since August, studying Arabic along with other subjects.
Joy Sweeney said others attending previous demonstrations had praised her son’s Arabic and appreciated that a “blond-hair, blue-eyed kid” was supporting their calls for democracy.
Uh, who said that blond hair and blue eyes precludes moronism and involvement in Islamic terrorism?
So, how long until the Americans release an Egyptian Islamic terrorist in captivity at Gitmo or until the U.S. forces the Israelis to release more Egyptian terrorists, so these schmucks can be freed? 3-2-1 . . .

Wouldn’t it be interesting if someone opened a gay bar and called it ‘Club Arafat’?
