FOX News Pulls A CNN Spitzer, Hired Disgraced Ex-Gov Mark Sanford

By Debbie Schlussel

No, he didn’t solicit prostitutes after moralizing against all of Wall Street, so disgraced South Carolina ex-Governor Mark Sanford isn’t as sleazy and repellent as disgraced New York ex-Governor Eliot Spitzer.  But, as conservatives go, he’s close enough.  And that’s why it’s so disgusting–not to mention, absurd–that FOX News just hired Sanford as a contributor and analyst for the 2012 Presidential race.

Fair & Philanderanced: We Philander, You Decide

You gotta ask yourself what he could possibly contribute . . . other than talking about how to blow any chance you had at the White House by lying to your entire State, using the euphemism of “hiking in the woods” as cover for your sexual trysts in Latin America with your extra-marital concubine.  Hey, maybe FOX News can hire John Edwards, too, as soon as he gets through that legal trouble in which he’s involved.

Fair & Philanderanced: We Philander, You Decide

Don’t forget that Sanford is the same guy who told his fiancee and, later, wife (and ex-wife), Jenny, that he wanted the part about being faithful removed from their marriage vows (and the moronette wife agreed!).  Hey, he’ll fight right in with Sean Vannity, toe-sucker fetishist Dick Morris, and phone-sexer Bill Falafel/Loofah O’Reilly.

Is anyone watching really gonna take this fraud, Sanford, seriously?  Well, it is FOX News, after all, where people continue to drink up Sean Hannity’s Freedom Concert scam and believe his lie that he was against Obama helping the Libyan rebels (when he, in fact, pressured and urged Obama to aid them).

In short, there are just as many suckers on the right as on the left, which is why plenty of mindless FOX News viewers will ingest the Sanford BS just as CNN viewers willingly ingested the Spitzer crap.

Yup, FOX truly is no better–and hardly different–than CNN.  They just took their lout instead of the one with a D after his name.  Hey, I hear that Anthony Weiner is looking for a job.  Maybe FOX News can hired him, too and give Sanford and Weiner their own show in the spirit of bipartisan scumbaggery.

Infidelity is a bipartisan thing these days. There is no longer any shame in this country.

FOX News doesn’t have standards. Its a ratings whore and Sanford will fit right in with its current crew of blowhards.

It doesn’t take much to become a TV show talking head in our time.

All the dupey dopes who are Liberal and have hated Fraud News (PAWNN) for years are actually getting heaps of reasons this year alone to legitimize their hate for PAWNN. I hope they are paying attention. And yes, Sleazy Sanford will fit right in. Did he marry his Argentinian chippy yet? Prolly not. At least he is consistent with his lack of respect for women. Can’t wait ’til he and the Loofahed Leprechaun share the screen together.

And as I mentioned a few weeks back, the Loofahed Leprechaun said in Parade Magazine that due to PAWNN’s sense of responsibility, they are changing their tone. Yeah BOR, you piece of cat-sick, some of us caught on years ago.

And The Wallbanger has his mojo back and has the guts to pull another concert scam for the holidays.

And as DS points out…there will still be plenty of dopes on the Right who will continue to support PAWNN. You’ll find those useless idiots on H.A.!

The next time the GOP speakers @ the convention talk about family values, they ought to be roundedly boo’ed by the audience. While most of the Dems are frauds too, at least the true believers among them – those who’re not lying to make themselves more acceptable – do not put up that charade about being about family values. Not that I agree w/ them, but I do respect them more.

To paraphrase MAD magazine, I guess Sanford liked to take a tramp through the woods.

He was a failure as a husband, father, and governor. Why would I even care about anything he has to say? Unless I sought lessons in adultery, betrayal, and negligence, Mr. Sanford would have nothing to teach me. You would think that Fox News would have learned from CNN’s run with Spitzer. Roger Ailes seems to have a flat learning curve when it comes to programming and a general contempt for his employees, as noted by Newsweek not too long ago.

Similarly, The Reverend Ted Haggard is about to appear on “Celebrity Wife Swap.” He will be trading spouses with Gary Busey. You cannot make this stuff up. Is it just me, or is reality beginning to resemble a Zucker, Zucker & Abrahams movie?

    Swinging – isn’t that so 60s or 70s?

There’s no accounting for moral taste among some people.

Irving, I lolol’ed at your Zucker, Zucker and Abraham’s reference. I’d watch that!

I hope that you and Paul Kersey will find a way to do election night coverage if we have an election.

You mean he actually found a broad willing to let him take out the part about being faithful out of the vows?!?!?!? Wow, where can I find a bimbo like this? OK, just kidding, nobody who is an adult really wants a wife that dumb.

I don’t even watch the news anymore and I’m just fine.

People (including Debbie) who take TV seriously sometimes forget that the ONLY purpose of “free” broadcast televsion is to keep people occupied between the commercials.

Trust me, folks, that is as deep as it gets.

Thus, because Sanford is a living soap opera, it was a good hire.

And the dimwitted imbeciles at “HotAir” (CINOS, Conservative In Name Only) still think in their inferior minds that Fox News is still a conservative outlet! I wanna know if those folks at HotAir got the memo of this story of Mark Sanford being employed by Fox News and a new member on their payroll?

Has anyone else noticed that since FoxNews was purchased by the Arab guy, it hasn’t been the same. It has morphed into having a mainstream media philosophy (eg liberal-leaning). As well, pro-Arab stories have increased and pro-Israel stories have been reduced or at least overshadowed by always airing “the other point of view” too.

And here I was , thinking that ‘swing’ was about Basie, Goodman, and Ellington….As for Fox, they’re going down the toilet. And a higher flush capacity is needed. As Al Bundy said, we need the Fergusen….the mother of all flusheroos.

Not Ovenready on October 25, 2011 at 4:13 pm

Good grief. He’ll last as long as Spitzer did. Don’t those that hire have any brains left? Do they think we forgot about him?

And yet, this is one more reason why I no longer watch F***ed News.

I used to enjoy watching Red Eye until Greg Gutfeld insulted our (read: Canada’s) already battered and over-burdened military a couple of years back.

For whom the bell tolls? Time marches on.

But in some ways it was a very good marketing move. Just think — he’ll be an ideal person to interview and cover the next Casey Anthony.

Little Al on October 26, 2011 at 12:55 pm

He’ll have an interesting perspective on foreign affairs and policy.
