UndieBomber Pleads Guilty; Juror No. 235 Will Be Missed
As you may have heard by now, Underwear Bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab decided to plead guilty today, rather than go through the trial, which began yesterday. He will be sentenced by liberal Jewish (In Name Only) pro-Muslim Federal Judge Nancy Garlock Edmunds in January. She is normally very soft on Islamic terrorists, but she knows the world is watching closely on this one, so she won’t bunt, unlike in many other cases before her. (I’ve written about her before, and I’ll be writing about her again. Plenty more to say about this uber-liberalette appointed by Daddy Bush.)
There are many theories on why the UndieBomber chose to plead. Some say he didn’t want the photos of his badly burned “junk” made public. There were plans to make this an exhibit in the trial, and thus, it would be public record. Others say that he realized he wouldn’t get to use the trial as the soap box he had hoped. Still others believe that he decided he’d already done the soap box thing in pleading guilty and saying his law is the koran, not U.S. law or other general international laws against blowing up a plane full of innocent passengers or trying to do so. In my mind, I just think he’s your typical observant Muslim who doesn’t believe in America’s legal system and didn’t feel like going through the motions because he knew he did it and admitted doing it.
In any event, I’m glad that Assistant U.S. Attorney and universal scumbag, Jonathan Tukel, won’t get his moment of glory trying the case, since he worked overtime to help Islamic terrorists for the last eight years. And I’m bummed that Juror #235 didn’t get to do her duty. True, she was an alternate juror. But from what I read, she was the only juror who really gets it.
A retired state unemployment worker who lives in metro Detroit told Edmunds that she has problems with Muslim immigrants who don’t want to assimilate after arriving in the U.S.
“Dearborn is close to where I live,” she said. “When I go through there, it’s as though they have set up their own little country. They shop in their own area and don’t venture out. It’s something I don’t understand and I have a problem with it.”
She said the Muslims she’s talking about should remain in their homelands and fight for freedom there. She said she doesn’t understand why so many Muslims hate America – a question Edmunds said is not likely to be answered at trial.
The woman said in her jury questionnaire that she has formed no opinion about the guilt or innocence of Abdulmutallab. “I’d do my best to be impartial,” she said. “Where I’m sitting right now, I have no bias against the person.”
She expressed concern that it has taken prosecutors so long to try Abdulmutallab. Prosecutor Cathleen Corken asked her why she would assume it was the government’s fault that the case wasn’t tried sooner.
“Because you’re in control,” she said.
Edmunds told her these things take time.
She was accepted for jury duty.
We need more jurors–no, more Americans–just like her.

Unfortunately, he was not subjected to a Casino Royale interrogation, which would befit him especially.
