I Warned You: “Americans” Freed From Iran Are US-Haters, Attack America

By Debbie Schlussel

I warned you about the “American” hikers in Iran. I told you they were America-haters and Israel-haters, who chose to live in repressive, Muslim Syria.  And, per usual, I was right. As soon as they set foot outside the country, they were at it doing their America-hating again.

 Yes, They Hate America

When they first landed in Oman on Wednesday, Shane Bauer, one of the three ingrates–for whose freedom America spend countless hours to obtain–had this to say (remember, he worked for Al-Jazeera and the far-left, America-hating “The Nation”):

Two years in prison is too long and we sincerely hope for the freedom of other political prisoners and other unjustly imprisoned people in America and Iran.

Hey, thanks for the moral equivalence BS about America being just like Iran, schmuck. People are in prison in Iran because they spoke and said the wrong thing, or they are members of any religion other than Islam, or because they are women who showed their hair in public. People in prison in America are there because they committed crimes against other Americans. Or, since Bauer was apparently talking about Gitmo, because they killed Americans or targeted them for death.

And, just in case, you thought this was just a statement made in Oman, today the two schmucks, Bauer and the also recently-released Joshua Fattal, made it clear you are wrong. They hate America. Here is part of what they said today in New York (as they prepare for book deals and TV appearances–cha-ching!):

In prison, every time we complained about our conditions, the guards would immediately remind us of comparable conditions at Guantanamo Bay. They would remind of us CIA prisons in other parts of the world, and the conditions that Iranians and others experience in prisons in the U.S. We do not believe that such human rights violations on the part of our government justify what has been done to us. Not for a moment. However, we do believe that these actions on the part of the U.S. provide an excuse for other governments, including the government of Iran, to act in kind. . . .

Sarah, Josh and I oppose U.S. policies towards Iran which perpetuate this hostility.  Sarah, Josh and I oppose U.S. policies towards Iran which perpetuate this hostility. . . .

We also want to express our great thanks to the many world leaders and individuals who championed our cause.  They include the U.N. Secretary General Ban ki-Moon, President Jalal Talabani of Iraq and President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and the governments of Turkey and Brazil.  They were certain of our innocence and their certainty made a difference.

They include the actor Sean Penn, the great Muhammad Ali, Noam Chomsky, the singer Yusuf Islam, Cindy Sheehan and the Nobel Laureates Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Mairead Maguire. We will always remember that you stood by us. . . .

The sympathy and support of many Muslim and other religious leaders in America, the Iranian people and the elements within the Iranian government that worked for our freedom were also all invaluable. Thank you.

See, these scumbags blame American policies for their imprisonment.  Yes, we should be nicer to human-rights abusing, Holocaust-denying, doomsday-seeking Iran.  And that’s exactly why they were eventually released.  Here’s a tip: American Muslims don’t just work for the release of all Americans held hostage by Muslims. They work for the release of anti-American, anti-Israel, pro-Muslim journalists and propagandists, as they did for Jill Carroll and as they did for these vermin.  Whatta shocker that HAMAS financier Yusuf Islam, Sean Penn, Noam Chomsky, Cindy Sheehan, and Desmond Tutu–all far left-wing, anti-American, anti-Israel whack jobs–worked to release these far-left “hikers.”

Joshua Fattal actually had the chutzpah to compare himself to the American hostages in Iran, who were real heroes and were attacked by Muslims on U.S. soil in the American Embassy.

The two of us were held for 781 days. That is far longer than the American hostages at the U.S. embassy in Tehran in 1979.

Puh-leeze!  I know one of the former American hostages, then-U.S. Marine Kevin Hermening.  He’s a brave guy who tried to guard his embassy, not an imbecile who lives in Syria, attacks America, and then goes hiking in Iran and expects America to free him, like these guys. The American Embassy hostages were heroes. These three are phonies and vile specimens of human skin.

Bauer and Fattal went on to whine about the lack of freedoms and rights in Iranian prison.  But, yet, they proudly lived for years in repressive Syria, praising the country in their “journalistic” reports, while writing BS attacks against Israel, which is the most free country–by far!–in the entire region.  Hypocrites.  And frauds.

I warned you about Sarah Shourd, Fattal, and Bauer, the Americans (In Name Only), just after they were arrested and imprisoned in Iran.  As I asked (and answered) back then, what kind of Americans live in Syria, the repressive Muslim dictatorship and terrorist host state that allows the alphabet soup of Islamic terrorist groups (HAMAS, PFLP, PIJ, PLO, etc.) ?  America-hating and Israel-hating “Americans,” that’s who.  And, as I noted, all three of these cretinous nothings spent time writing anti-Israel and anti-American crap for left-wing rags and “news” outlets.

Far too many morons sent me (and continue to send me) e-mails saying, “but, hey, they’re Jewish.”  (I’m not sure if Bauer is, but it’s irrelevant.)  I don’t give a rat’s ass what nominal religion they barely claim.  Frankly, their status as Jews is just a source of embarrassment.  I don’t want to claim them, nor do most of my fellow co-religionists find these three pieces of crap to be any source of pride.  And anyone, who thinks that being a Jew (In Name Only) makes you a realist on the greatness of America and Israel and the absolutely horrid state of places like Syria and their extremist people, is an idiot.

Ever hear of a guy named Stanley Cohen?  He’s a Jew, and he was a lawyer for HAMASniks, a photo of whose leader he had on his mantle.  And I’ve given you a gazillion examples of Jews who embrace our enemies–both as Americans and Jews.  One of the biggest enemies of the Jewish people in Detroit is a woman named Betsy Kellman, head of the Michigan ADL, who embraced a bigtime Hezbollah member and attorney and declared that Jews–particularly Orthodox Jews–are the real terrorists and will initiate terrorist attacks against the Detroit Muslim community for whom she has a strong affinity.  The unelected morons who run the Detroit Jewish Community Relations Council voted down a resolution condemning Palestinian terrorism.  They don’t speak for me as a Jew or as an American.  And yet they’ve deigned to do so.

And there are countless, infinite other examples of these moronowitzes and Benedict Arnoldsteins, who would risk their lives to kiss a Palestinian Muslim and attack a pro-Israel, pro-American Jew.  Arthur Horwitz, the whore who owns the Detroit Jewish News, tried to get the previous leader of the ADL to denounce me as an “anti-Semite.”  That was not long before he entered a financial partnership with Osama Siblani, the owner of the pro-Hezbollah/pro-HAMAS, openly Jew-hating Arab American News.  Siblani is a known agent of Hezbollah, whose family members are employed by Al-Manar, Hezbollah TV.  These people have wet dreams about “Big Arab Love.”

And the same can be said for these three scumbags, Shourd, Fattal, and Bauer.  I said, from the very beginning, that we should let them rot in Iran.  And we should have.  They are scum, who love Islam so much they left American to live in Damascus and thought that their Islamo-pandering would win them brownie points when they went hiking in Iran.  Clearly, they were deluded.  Muslims don’t think too highly of them.

And we shouldn’t either.   And, now, they’ve quickly resumed their America-hating roles.  Alhamdillullah [praise allah].

We need to see if we can get them into Gitmo for the same length of time and then tell us which one was better!

Frank Livingston on September 26, 2011 at 12:42 pm

What a trashy testimony by these people. It makes me feel like puking.

G. R. SCHAROUBIM on September 26, 2011 at 12:43 pm

Wow, I guess this is what a normal response would be from someone who refuses to open their minds… No point in continuing any conversation with the likes of you, and this is why it is so hard to get the heart of matters such as these and actually resolve them. Nothing but insults and baseless claims.. The fact that you don`t understand or see that there is a difference to be made between Persians and Arabs, outside Islamic context, shows how little you know of people you have clearly dehumanized.

As i said they need help in getting rid of their government, Ahmadinejad is a pompeous Mullah and a puppet of the Supreme Leader. The people live under a powerful theocratic dictatorship that can funnel the resources of the 8th strongest gdp in the world. They need the support of outsiders to overcome this, not hatred. We know that these leaders are elected to their positions, they don`t speak for the people.. yet.. you are treating them that way.

I will stop here, because you apparently have too great an amount of passion and hatred with regards to Muslims, Arabs, Persians, or any other peoples from the Middle East, to have an objective conversation.

yvon on September 26, 2011 at 1:42 pm

Yvon, your acumen, love and understanding apparently are the secret weapon/link to what has eluded us in “getting along” with the Moooooooslims of the world. I stand corrected.

Please, thrill us with your solutions and please link your site/blog so we will all learn from you since you are the new thing under the sun we (and especially DS/) has missed./

And Yvon, how many MORE innocents killed in the name of Islamic Jihad are you gonna put up with? If you had a brain in your head you would see it is YOU whom is far behind. Not us.

    You’re sickening.

Skunky on September 26, 2011 at 5:45 pm

yvon on September 26, 2011 at 1:45 pm

When I first saw his comment upon exiting the plan I was sickened and the more they speak the more disgusting it is. Yvon, good luck if you are freedom fighting, not our place to free you or any other Middle Easterners. I don’t wish you harm, just wish we were out of that region and not sending our hard earned dollars over there either. Ungrateful lot they all are. END THE FOREIGN AID WE PAY AND IMMIGRATION to this wonderful nation of ours!!!

CJ on September 26, 2011 at 1:54 pm

I fully agree that we should be out of that region and most definitely agree that foreing aid must end and that we need to take a much more conservative approach to immigration. I love North America and I am proud to be born here.. my family as been here for 7 generations. I love the foundations that we are built on which include being a land of pilgrammage for those wishing to escape circumstances such as dictatorships, theocracy, etc. However, I feel that it is time we take a much more conservative approach to who we let inside, especially when we consider the environment that a free market world creates which allow for terrorist attacks to be done with ease. My wife and her family immigrated from Iran 10 years ago because they felt unsafe.. her grandfather (a writer) was imprisoned for a year without notice because of his political views. They are an educated, academic family who do not practice Islam and instead prefer to follow another, not often mentioned religion of Iran called Zoroastrian. I know that it would be an event full of hostility and ackwardness, but, if I could even just for one moment introduce people from this forum to them, I am sure that it would at least leave a tiny impression that there are great and good hearted people in Iran that do not deserve to be talked about the way Skunky does.

yvon on September 26, 2011 at 2:36 pm

Yvon, you’re a real pip. First you equated me with another post-er who mistakenly said Arab in lieu of Persian. You have no idea whether I know a Persian from an Arab. But keep conflating. Your big heart shrinks when it comes to that, I see.

Secondly, it seems you should have a problem with ZerObama, as it was he who let what could have been an Iranian revolution rot on the vine. No Iran but hell yeah to Egypt! Whoo-hoo!

At this point in the game, I daresay it is NOT up to us to lead the Iranians into their own revolution. People have been waiting and waiting for that to happen. But with Cap’n Zero at the helm, it looks like the wait has been elongated.

And lastly, it’s high-time that peeps like you realize that some people DO NOT want freedom. Some like the Russians don’t have the guts and desire for it and some like the North Koreans have never, ever experienced it as an option.

Americans love freedom. It is EVERYTHING to me but I think by now we should have learned that our type of freedom is not for everyone and we ought to stop trying to convince them otherwise and enjoy ours…while we still have it.

Skunky on September 26, 2011 at 5:56 pm

Josh Fattal made these statements during his recent interview in NY:

“Many times, too many times, we heard the screams of other prisoners being beaten and there was nothing we could do to help them.”

“From the very start, the only reason we have been held hostage is because we are American.”

So, if this was all about the last 32 years of so-called hostility between the US and Iran, and them being American citizens who were retarded enough to ignore the seriousness of that hostility and then go picking daisies on a trail near the border of Iran, how do they explain the beatings and screams of other prisoners they?

Are we supposed to surmise from their great insights (yawn) that Iran only beats American prisoners or American loving prisoners?

According to Bauer and Fattal, the spa treatments at Iranian prisons are much more pleasant for Americans than they seemed to be for incarcerated Iranian citizens being held in nearby cells.

yvon, do you still want to naively cling to the retarded notion that it is American policies that makes the Iranian government maltreat their own people so horribly?

If not, might I suggest a wonderful way of getting some fresh air, clearing the cobwebs out of your head and go take a lovely hike on a trail near the Iranian border. We look forward to hearing your report 2 years from now about how relaxing and meditative the Iranian prison system is and how it is only that way because of American policy.

Kairn on September 26, 2011 at 2:55 pm

oops, I meant to write:

…screams of other prisoners they could hear?”

Kairn on September 26, 2011 at 2:59 pm

It would have been very useful if they had been beaten—on the head. Repeatedly. Their IQs would have climbed.

Occam's Tool on September 26, 2011 at 3:01 pm

No surprise. Hope they go back to Syria and stay
away from the country they hate so much.

Daniel K on September 26, 2011 at 3:14 pm

I never said it is american policies that is causing this..and I have hiked IN iran..

yvon on September 26, 2011 at 3:32 pm

yvon,

You started right off by telling us that there wasn’t any point in continuing any conversation with the likes of us – and I might have to agree with you because you haven’t joined the conversation in a fair manner.

I read your two posts over a couple of times, and I want to tell you that you simply have no valid point here in reference to the comments Debbie made in regards to these idiot American traitors who got their stupid selves incarcerated in Iran and then upon their release, made the most ridiculous statements.

This subject isn’t about Zoroastrians or Persians or non-muslim Arabs. This article wasn’t about you or your in-laws who immigrated to the US from Iran. In fact, I really don’t understand what your point was. You admit the current government of Iran sucks. It sucks because it adheres to Islam.

We should all rightfully have a problem with Islam and with the liberal idiots from America and Europe who aid and abet its advance. To me, Bauer, Fattal, and Shourd are now enemies to the US and they should not have been allowed back into the US. They were traitors before they went on their stupid hike. They are now even more dangerous.

Kairn on September 26, 2011 at 3:33 pm

again, my wife is from iran.. I have visited on many occasions and I walked around freely and was welcomed… I`ve seen women covered up and i`ve seen some wearing the latest fashions that we could find in new york or paris…exposing skin, hair, etc.

I don`t know where this notion of my “retarded” notion of the poor treatment of Iranian citizens being the fault of american policies came from.. considering I never mentioned it and that I even brought up the imprisonment of my wife`s grandfather for his writtings that went againts the persian government.

yvon on September 26, 2011 at 3:39 pm

your right, I deviated from the subject of this post.. I apologize.

yvon on September 26, 2011 at 3:42 pm

“To me, Bauer, Fattal, and Shourd are now enemies to the US and they should not have been allowed back into the US.”

Exactly Karin, far as I’m concerned, these three judas’ are “the enemy with/enemy of the state”, because what they stand & represnts undermines this country (no there NOT political leaders, thank goodness there not).

Yvon, to you’re own credit, you’re being rational, respectful, friendly, etc., but please stick to the main issue, in which it’s about these three imbeciles who decide to hike in Iran and risk their lives. With all due respect Yvon, as Karin illistrated to you, this article is NOT about you’re relatives, family members, arabic folks, muslim folks, etc. But atleast you didn’t resort to use ad hominem rhetoric attacks against Ms. Schlussel and us who commented on this thread, so I give you kudos Yvon for having a good dialouge with all of us who already commented!

“A nation is defined by its borders, language & culture!”

Sean R. on September 26, 2011 at 3:45 pm

A commenter on a different website regarding these two traitors Bauer and Fattal, made a very thought provoking suggestion that these two might actually have been schooled during their sojourn in Iran. Is it possible they are now newly minted spies and potential terrorists? Right out there in the light of day!.

Perhaps the $1 million bail was simply a tuition payment, due upon graduation. Do any of you think it is odd that the bail payment came from Oman? I would like to read more details of how and why that deal went down. This whole business stinks to high heaven. And I dearly hope these 3 players will be closely monitored because they have unequivocally let it be known before, during and after their supposed incarceration in Iran that they DO NOT have America’s best interests in mind.

If they make money off their phony ‘I-was-an-American-hostage-in-Iran’ story, wanna place bets where a good chunk of it will go?

How dare these people even step foot back on American soil again!!! They are unrepentant scum.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY SUPPORT OR MONEY!!!!

Kairn on September 26, 2011 at 4:16 pm

Posted at Debbie’s request:

I was really struck by how unaffected Fattal and Bauer were by their prison stay, either physically or emotionally. They jogged on to the tarmac upon landing in Oman, and did not miss a beat after that. Evin Prison, as you already know, is one of the most notorious facilities in Iran. Many who enter that complex never leave alive. However, Fattal and Bauer were not the frail, pale, abused, and half starved figures one would have expected. Also, spending time in a cell in a prison does have an effect on you, but that did not seem at all evident. If I were not aware of what had supposedly happened to Fattal and Bauer, I would have guessed that they had just returned from a budget vacation in Europe. I suspect that this whole thing was either partially or wholly staged.

I think that if you or I had been locked up for a couple of years even under decent conditions, we would not be as chipper, spry, and camera mugging as these guys.

Worry01 on September 26, 2011 at 4:34 pm

Well i definitely want to continue to have a dialogue especially regarding issues relating to terrorism and our security. I feel that I have a lot more in common with folks like yourself and Debbie and other conservatives than i do with liberals and socialist.. however, my approach to that goal differs a lot. I definitely would prefer to continue discussing the issues that are brought to light by Debbie, because they need to be brought up and discussed. I just prefer to have a more civilized tone and approach on these topics than the disrespectful name calling that goes on.

With everything aside, I agree that these three are phonies and should be approached with hightened concerned.. my tangent came up because of comments in the post that identified some elements of everyday life in iran that I know aren`t true.. girls can show their hair and show a lot more and do not get imprisoned for that.. and it isn`t that big of a deal for foreigners to be walking around in Iran… the whole story revolving around these three is suspicious to me because of that. The views of many people here, i feel, overlook the possibility that there is more than meets the eye here because they ACCEPT the idea that it is entirely STUPID to be walking around in Iran because of what their idea of Iran is.. I really don`t know about what its like in other Arabian Muslim nations, because I`ve never been, but I have been to Iran.

yvon on September 26, 2011 at 4:44 pm

Ooooh, regulars here, DO NOT be swayed or tricked by little Yvon’s turn to conciliation.

I have re-posted his FIRST aggressive post and hi-lighted the areas where he took FIRST swing and where he shows ignorance that DS usually lambasts herself. DON’T. BE. FOOLED.

***you can tell you are ignorant… debbie***.. because you know nothing of Iran.. maybe you should do some travelling or something.. because girls can show hair in Iran, in fact.. you`d be quite surprised at what else they can show… I know this because my wife is Persian and I have visited there many times.. ******i`m not sure what really happened here with regards to the 3 people.. but the media and people like you are creating an atmosphere of ignorance and hatred… WAKE UP****

“yvon – bordered north, south, east and west by yvon”

Boring!!!

Hiking in Iran? Sure, every red-blooded American wants to do that.

JeffT on September 26, 2011 at 7:06 pm

Like little jane fondas…

drkate on September 27, 2011 at 12:51 am

Normal Americans know what to expect if we go hiking in Iran but after 700+ days in prison these idiots still haven’t got a clue. Will it ever occur to them that this would never happen hiking in Israel? Will it ever occur to them that they were arrested not because of what they thought or what they were actually doing (who knows but it was probably some fruity, nit-witted mission of some sort) but simply because they were white westerners?? Now that they were the beneficiaries of it, will they realize that American clout is a good thing? Will they realize that in this big bad world of ours that there are 2 types of nations – the dominant and the dominated? And that as much as they might hate their own country being the dominant one, it is far better than being dominated by countries such as their beloved Syria and Iran who just see these people as useful idiots??

Not a chance.

Robert Lefkowitz on September 27, 2011 at 8:30 am

I’m going to agree with some of the posters. They look way too good to have been in a hell hole. They were way stupid to have been ‘hiking’ in hostile territory. But then I’m going to bet that they’re enamored with the “purity” of Islam and it’s going to come out soon enough.

UpChuck.Liberals on September 27, 2011 at 12:12 pm

As much as I agree with the idea that these berkely students were incredibly stupid, ignorant (this can probably describe most American tourists) for taking the risk of hiking close the Iranian border and they got what they deserved. However, you, Debbie, from your opinion in the article are also fantastically stupid, I’ll-educated and ignorant. Ideally, Americans should not be allowed out of the country or given a passport without passing some kind of common-sense exam, which you would thankfully fail.
