Picture = 1K Words: This is Lesbian Marriage

By Debbie Schlussel
Mainstream media outlets around the world are wet with tears over the death of 87-year-old lesbian activist Del Martin. I simply don’t care. Not that I wish death on this woman. I’m sure, during the course of her life, she was a fine WNBA fan, loyal barber shop brush-cut customer, skilled wearer of “comfortable shoes”, enthusiastic maven of “personal electronics”, and adoring attendee at the Dinah Shore Classic.
But that’s not what strikes me about her. What I found funny were the photos of Martin’s wedding to fellow lesbo, Phyllis Lyon, in June. If I were the people campaigning against gay marriage in California, these photos would be my campaign ads. I’d just keep the picture on the screen for 30 seconds with the line, “THIS IS GAY MARRIAGE.”

I’m thinkin’ the only thing more sexy than this would be a photo of Helen Thomas and Madeleine Albright. Hot, hot, hot.
The Island of Lesbos called. It wants its name back.
Exit Question: How many of these types are delegates at the DNC?

Very poor post. I don’t think that a picture of these two elderly ladies, who spent 50+ years together, would cause people to oppose gay marriage. Probably just the opposite. In any case, I sincerely hope that you are eventually blessed with a good husband, with whom you can grow old.

So this is what the gay life style does to women? Woooooooe!

One word: ICK!

Dumb question. How in the hell do two old bags like this, stuff themselves with Viagra? And another dumb question, what’s the dosage, or over-dosage?

For years, It has been my observation that a majority of gay men and lesbian women in America are generally of average or less-than-average looks. We’re talking the very less-attractive or less-appealing kind, like those two ladies above.

What’s wrong Debbie? In two days you’ve posted some of the meanest blog entries on this site. Do you care about what people will say when you die?

This post isn’t “mean” at all. It’s the truth. The only thing “mean” are these Anne Ramsey type of women pushing absurd, unnatural, and disordered gay “marriage” onto our civilization.
Can you name ONE civilization in the past that has ever accepted gay “marriage?” Nope. It’s called natural law. It is something that will never be right. No civilization would accept it because it weakens it internally. Families make for a strong civilization, not a disordered copy of a “family” that gays are pushing. Once families and religion go in Western Civilization, something will take their places–Islam.
Also, can you imagine being an adopted kid by these gay couples? Kids deserve to grow up with a father and a mother.

I’m glad that I wasn’t eating when I read this post — eeeewww.
A really disproportionate number of gay people are emotionally disturbed; and the disturbance is not a result of supposed discrimination against them.
Gay marriage or civil unions are bizarre and perverse. I’m very worried about society when gayness becomes accepted as a legitimate lifestyle.

I find these images grossly disgusting for some reason.

Speaking of which–anyone see Cynthia Nixon’s husband? Just because she’s a lesbo that doesn’t mean she has to go around looking like an overweight adolescent boy. Yikes.

I think that’s “sensible” shoes, Debbie. 😉
Nice cribbing of Michael Savage’s talking points, Gabe.
Would have been compelling, otherwise.

What I can’t stand most about these types is that they destroyed forever the tweedy, intellectual lesbian couples with lots of dogs and style. I’m not with you on this one Debbie – its too crude for you: You’re saying “Look how old and ugly they are – isn’t that gross!” I think you’ve been reviewing too many crappy movies and its rubbing off on you.

I know it’s not like spotting a toupee (Seinfeld-virgin episode), but it was a butch crowd…except for the men there.
Note to area hotels: burn the sheets.

I disagree with some of your posters–this column is RIGHT ON! Mean? What is mean about saying you’d simply put theie picture on the air? It sure makes the point loud and clear.
One suggestion–how about a pic of Madeline Albright and Helen Thomas in actual woman’s clothes?

We couldn’t make this up but this is a reality here in California. Some inmates want to get married, but “prisoners found out to have money or other assets might find themselves coerced into marriages with more powerful inmates, who then might try to lay claim to half of their net worth.”
Also “Somebody might force Scott Peterson to marry them or something?”
I wonder what the bidding would start for “Pretty Boy” Scott Peterson in San Quentin? Will they get to share bunks and have ceremonies.

Debbie and other posters here: we are better than these kinds of comments! There’s no place for this sort of hatred on this site! So, you don’t like the photo or the way these elderly women lived their life? Fine, but for goodness sake, do we need to lower ourselves to being so cruel? The Christian way to approach this is to do so with love. I think we should be ashamed for letting the discourse get so vile on here

ericj on August 31, 2008 at 3:15 pm

Guys, I’m fifteen, and I’m a lesbian. Your comments are so hurtful and blatantly false, it’s depressing. This post is more a slight on the appearance of old people than anything else, and some people’s comments about the LGBT community being “mentally disturbed” are absolutely baseless. I agree with ericj, if you must be so oppossed to the way I live my life, then can you at least be rational and somewhat compassionate in your argument? With discrimination like that, it’s no wonder so many LGBT teens commit suicide.
