Country Removes Film About Tolerance b/c It Might Offend Muslims & Muslims Threaten Violence

By Debbie Schlussel

I’m actually shocked at the “news” source reporting this story:  the execrable Al-Jazeera English.  Indonesia’s major TV network removed a film about “tolerance” for non-Muslims after Muslims threatened violence over it.  As you may know, Indonesia has the largest Muslim population of any country.  Oh, and by the way, the “film” isn’t exactly about “tolerance” per se.  It shows a Muslim rescuing Christians and other non-Muslims.  Of course, we know that in reality it’s always the other way around about who actually rescues whom.

There is NO Tolerance in Islam
As you read this, ask yourself if there’s anything to prevent this from happening here.  In fact, we know it’s already happening as there have been many occasions where movie scripts were changed to delete Muslim honor killings and Islamic terrorists to please whining, aggrieved Muslims and their circus of loudness. The Al-Jazeera English people do not give an embed code for the video (if you can figure it out, please e-mail me), so you have to watch the video here.  Yup, Islam is “peaceful” (once you’re dead).

A film about religious tolerance in Indonesia has been pulled from a major TV network after an Islamist group warned the film could trigger nationwide violence.

Question Mark tackles the issue of religious harmony by showing a Buddhist family, a Muslim family and a woman who converts to Christianity, all living together.

But the Islamic Defenders Front, a group with a history of violence, siad the message of pluralism is dangerous.

The organisation says it is insulting to show a Muslim playing the role of Jesus in a church play.

The group has forced one of Indonesia’s main television channels not to air the film.

Salim Alatas, from the Islamic Defenders Front said: “We are worried that if Muslims feel insulted there will be burning and rioting, that’s what we have to prevent.

“That’s why the SCTV channel has cancelled the showing because they were afraid.”

The Indonesian press council says Question Mark is educational because it can teach people about Indonesian values that tend to be forgotten.

The council wants the film, which was shown in theatres, to be broadcast on television.

Like I said, not only can this happen here, it’s already happened.

so why doesn’t the so called IDF prevent the burning and rioting by getting their ‘soldiers’ out in public to in fact prevent hooliganism? instead of quashing free speech? typical hypocrisy, show me a moslem that isn’t full of hypocrisy from head to toe, and i’ll sell you a bridge in brooklyn.

So, what’s the difference between being confronted by a mugger on the street and what is occurring here? The mugger knows that more often than not the object of his intentions is unarmed or unwilling to resist. In both cases , the above and the mugger, we are being controlled by thugs. Both are dispassionate, and capable of the most hideous violence. So what? We should not be giving in to these thugs on the pretense that if we don’t respect them, there will be violence. Is there something about “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse…” that is not understood here? I am deeply concerned that there are no valient men anymore who are able to step up and respond appropriately to these threats.

One other thing. It is dangerous too to misunderstand a poem written by Martin Niemoller, “First they came…”. It is sophistry in its worst form. There was someone to speak up when they came for the last person, and it was that person himself. This is the crux of the problem, as it suggests that this person also, quietly acquiessed and offered no resistence to his being taken. In spite of the obvious, there was an unfounded belief that it was to go well with him against all evidence it was a misplaced confidence. It is not unlike a a man or woman, being apprised of unfaithfulness on the part of their spouse, becoming disallusioned by the one informing them and refutes the accusation although the evidence of gifts, perfumes, and absences being discovered to them proclaims otherwise.
It is intellectual suicide.
This is clear evidence the government is not going to help you, and in most cases advances the designs of the murderers and the destroyers.
It is happening here.
You can’t reason with a rabid animal.

It’s a shame Indonesia banned this. Maybe, they could have learned something from it.

What it tells you is even moderate Muslims are intimidated enough by Islamists to say “no” to any attempt to push country forward on a more democratic path. You can draw two conclusions from this: there is no silent moderate Muslim majority or if there is one, it has no effect on Islamists taking over the country and turning it into a theocratic dictatorship. Either way you look at what happened in Indonesia, the prospects of Islam learning to co-exist peacefully with other cultures and faiths are non-existent. Which is a shame because even a more small attempt to reform Islam would be genuinely welcomed in the West.

Here is yet another example of ‘tolerance’:The parents of suspected honour killing victim Shafilea Ahmed have been charged with their daughter’s murder – eight years after she disappeared.
Shafilea, 17, went missing from her home in September 2003 after complaining that her parents were trying to force her into an arranged marriage.
A massive hunt was launched for the bright A-level student who had dreamed of becoming a lawyer.

Her decomposed body was found in February 2004, hidden near a river in the Lake District.

JK,

You can delight yourself in your remarks now, but as they say, the chickens will come home to roost. If indeed there were no justice, you might be confident, but justice there is and you shall be judged for every word. As every need of man may be satisfied, (we are able to feed, clothe, and comfort the needy, as well give them rest), so too will the cry for justice be satisfied, and that will be accomplished by the Righteous Judge. Your careless remarks shall come back to haunt you, and you shall not be able to open your mouth.
