Housekeeping: We Are Fixing the Slow Load Time, Site Crashing Probs

By Debbie Schlussel
My dear readers, in the last week or so, I’ve received a number of complaints from you that my site is loading too slowly, that it has caused your computers to crash or other stuff on your computer to freeze, etc.
I’m very sorry about that, and we’ve figured out the problem–my images are too big. We are fixing the problem and hope to have it fixed by early next week.
I really appreciate your readership and your patience, and I appreciate those who took the time to let me know of the problem. I apologize for any problems it may have caused. And I hope you will stay with me, as I change the images to allow you to see my site with ease and to load it quickly.
Thanks for your understanding and continued support.

You should consider compressing your webpages Debbie. Since you’re using Movable, you may want to ask your webmaster to use mod_deflate on the whole blog.
At the moment, your site is 123.67 KB. You can compress it so it becomes only 41.7 KB. http://aruljohn.com/gziptest.php

It has always loaded slow. It just sits there for 9 or 10 seconds and then everything pops up at once.

Well, ya know Blondie, if you’d get with the program and get a REAL piece of Blogging software like, uh, WordPress and toss this TypePad crap in the river, maybe you’d be somebody.
Take care, “Sweetie” ;-P

Hardliner/Pat:
Since when did TypePad become crap and WordPress “REAL”?
Look around, TypePad is used for REAL professional blogging and is far more stable than WordPress. WordPress, on the other hand, even though its open-source, has its faults. Debbie would have to get/hire someone to tweak her site in order to get WordPress working. And it attracts spam all the time. TypePad works with minimal fuss.
Maybe if Debbie had a blog about her daily trivial tidbits, WordPress would have made sense. Not for a serious blog that intends to serve a purpose.

Since I tried to install it and it wouldn’t work. Typepad/moveable type is P.O.S. Period.
Like it, learn it, Love it… mother fukka!
