SICK: Moms Raising Their Kids in Jail – 3 Generations of Trash Behind Bars

By Debbie Schlussel

Watch this report about prisons allowing pregnant moms to have and raise their kids in jail.  It’s pretty disgusting, and it’s yet another example of how we enable criminals, single moms, and anti-social behavior.  They claim this reduces the women’s recidivism rate, but to me it also reduces their punishment.  Prison is meant as a penalty for doing crime, not two years of  free babymama care, courtesy of law-abiding citizens.  Part of that punishment should be not getting to be with your child if you are pregnant when you go to prison.  It’s not a vacation home.  It’s prison.  This story is revolting, especially the part with the girl whose mother is also in prison with her and the grandkid.  Disgusting.  And granny–who is only 39–looks 59.  Gee, I wonder why. I call that, “Brett Favre’s Family,” minus the football gazillions. These skanks would do the world a favor if they put their kids up for adoption (though one can’t account for the inherited low IQ). Orange jumpsuits and babies are two things that should never mix.

Debbie this makes sense. The Obama agenda is to benefit his voters and punish the opposition. Maybe next they can serve Republican chopped liver at the prison commissary.

Raising kids in jail is a GREAT idea. Put them in uniforms. Make them march in cadence. Keep the boys and girls apart. Force them to achieve or face peer humiliation. Use corporal punishment when they mis-behave and give the parents no recourse. You want your kid in this school, they play by the school’s rules; or else!

Let ’em go home to Mom at the end of the day to enjoy a quiet meal where Mom asks: “What did you learn in school today?” Do their homework. Say their prayers before bedtime and go to sleep. Saying “I love you, Mom” is of course, optional but highly encouraged.

I guess I didn’t know it, but I was in jail the whole time I was in K-12 school.

Today, kids graduate college and can’t make anything valuable or do anything useful. They come back home to live with the parents with the Federal Government requiring employers to insure children until age 27. This of course, is not “jail”. The government calls this “freedom”.

Could it be I’m missing the LIB media bias? All the women interviewed are white (or Oriental), articulate, and relatively attractive. How ’bout the low security nature of the prison? Do you recognize the characteristics? I can tell you that those of us who design prisons don’t specify decorative pendant-mounted light fixtures in medium or high security prisons.

Did you notice the fleeting glance of one woman’s tattoos? The editors did their best not to show those.

IMHO, this was a typical LIB media biased report that you would expect from the uber-liberal ABC. As such, they are encouraging support for this program amongst their most affluent viewers.

Deb, I stand willing to accept your criticism. What am I missing?

TNSC, I think the reason they didn’t show any black inmates with kids is because the prison was in Washington state. If the prison had been in Mississippi or Louisiana it would have been a different story. They just don’t have a lot of black people in Washington. But even in Georgia, where I live, I’m told there are a lot of young white women in prisons for meth use/sale. I will admit that the images from the prison show an environment that appears a lot cushier than I would expect a prison to be. The cells looked more like a hospital room in the maternity ward than a prison cell. And I couldn’t believe the footage of a baby crawling in the hallway of a prison. I wouldn’t want MY baby crawling there.

Thank you for your comments DG in GA.

I’m not sure I buy the thesis that “They just don’t have a lot of black people in Washington.” The important thing is that you also seemed to notice that the report seemed surreal.

I can tell you that I’ve been to Michigan prisons. Do you have any idea what it takes to get a camera of any kind into a prison? Even low security prisons are very difficult. If you DO get permission (I could tell you a story in of itself about that.) the first rule is: Don’t take pictures of the inmates.

Therefore, the whole story HAD to be a propaganda piece that was staged. That is what they call “news reporting” nowadays. This was some LIB’s idea of ‘how everyone should do it’ and ABC News was just happy to be useful idiots.

I agree with Debbie that the report is “pretty disgusting”, but I would take issue with ABC News first for calling it “news”. The darn thing was staged!

Do you have any idea how much anti-Israel news is staged and deliberately mis-reported just like this?

As a former prison psychiatrist, let me tell you: women’s prisons are much nicer than men’s.

Libs have created these b–tches and now they treat them like the poor soiled doves they aren’t. lol It’s always seemed funny to me how much the general public doesn’t know about the end of the line in our justice system. Everyone just mistakenly assumes the scum bags are all being punished for their crimes. They like to think it’s all busting rocks and digging ditches on a chain gang. These babies will be grown up and committing nice felonies against us soon enough:)

Bravo DS. I love your posts on these wretched things because you always hit it on the head. I could not agree more.

With the rotting of the culture and the sissification of men, American culture is in wicked trouble. One of the most troubling issues (of many!) in 2011, with women more skanky, cruel, wicked, mean and nasty…is the old belief that women are “more pure and more sweet” than men still stands. This lie needs to be torn down. NOW.

I think DS deftly pointed out in a previous post that we should NOT underestimate how evil women can be. She gets it. DON’T think the world will be better with a female leader. Don’t think companies will be better run if a woman is the boss. That’s total horse sh**.

Never forget behind every evil man is an equally evil women or enabling women. Never forget that behind every Dad who REALLY molests his children is a knowing Mum who let it happen because her NOT being alone was more important than the safety and health of her kid(s). Look at Whitey Bulger. His nasty moll was with him on the run for 16 years and that old witch thinks she’ll get bail. She will if a PC Liberal sort lets her.

Women are just as nasty and evil as men. In 2011 they are even more capable of giving evil men a run for their money.

Look at murderous skank Casey Anthony. Got away with murdering her sweet 3 year old. I had an epiphany about that travesty this am. Women today are so messed up and dopey that I believe that if a women accuses a man of rape and/or a male family member of incest, MOST women will want to believe it no matter how LUDICROUS the charge is. That’s evil and dangerous. I believe that is why some so-called smart, legal professionals still think George Anthony had something to do with Caylee Anthony’s death. The truth is he DIDN’T…and the evidence and the time-line prove it.

So men, it ain’t easy being you in 2011. And never forget sociopaths are NOT just male. Hardly.

It figures when your only parent is government, eternal childhood can be continued in prison. In the old days, no one would have kids behind bars. Now its an accepted fact of life.

NormanF on July 11, 2011 at 11:24 pm

“It figures when your only parent is government, eternal childhood can be continued in prison.”

Norman!!!! That is a very profound statement. Is it original? If so, I will always give you credit when I use it.

If you have your own blog, I’d vote for that as a “notable-quotable of the day”.

There is NO Santa Claus on July 12, 2011 at 8:26 am

Where are the men? Once again we have children being raised in their early years without father figures.

Raymond in DC on July 12, 2011 at 8:51 am

Washington State. No surprise there. Great question, Raymond. Where are the men? Most likely continuing a life of crime. This is another example of a no consequences mind set. No stigma for having babies outside of marriage; no stigma for going to jail; just do what ever you want and let the honest, taxpayers pay for your stupid choices.

SDN on July 12, 2011 at 9:54 am

1) Exactly- where’re the baby daddies?

2) where can I get one of them stripey baby outfits for my baby? (yeah- you can see that coming… already got guys wearing “prison orange” in the street, and the low-riding pants thing is supposedly from prisoners not being allowed belts…)

Doda McCheesle on July 12, 2011 at 10:03 am

I wonder if the babies can get credit for time served, off of their own future jail sentences.

shegundala on July 12, 2011 at 11:15 am

    @shegundala

ROFLMAO, Wish I’d have thought of that one!

Juveniles offenders are not permitted to serve in a facility that houses adult inmates. At least that’s the law in Texas, and it seems that it would be the same everywhere else. In Texas it goes even farther in that any files/records of juvenile offenders may not be stored with those of adults. How much more so that juvenile NON-offenders be housed with adults. Does the state of Washington, or ABC, have any idea what kind of danger these children are in? Not just from other inmates, but from some of the guards as well.

CornCoLeo on July 12, 2011 at 7:26 pm

I’ll keep it simple, yet no less controversial.

China is in the throes of being a true economic superpower in spite of a totalitarian regime that appears to have existed for 90 years (Mazel Tov, CPC).

As much as they are the producers, the Chinese have the ability to be great consumers.

And the Chinese approach to justice (politics/ideology notwithstanding) seem so simple: do the crime, pay the price. Dearly.

If one is lucky to get prison, that person has to work to get at least fed on a regular basis. Call it slave labour, but it makes good economic sense.

And for murderers, fraudsters, sexual predators, etc, they get prime-time. A small march onto a sports field, in front of tens of thousands, and a .45 cal hot-shot to cap it all off.

Barbaric? Yes. But aren’t we a barbaric species since Day One? Think about it.

The Reverend Jacques on July 12, 2011 at 1:58 pm

So True Reverend, and the prisoner’s family gets a bill for the bullet.

I don’t want to live in a tyranny, but the reason that we have crime is that we tolerate it. Places like China or Saudi Arabia don’t have a lot of crime, because when they catch you within a week you are getting either an axe or bullet to the head.

It doesn’t pay to be a criminal in those countries where it pays big to be one in the USA.

jimmyPx on July 12, 2011 at 7:38 pm

The cells some of these women live in are nicer than my old college dorms, or my first few apartments!

Jonathan Grant on July 12, 2011 at 3:47 pm

The piece was propaganda-ish, but the idea isn’t that bad. Being responsible for a kid in a restrictive environment might teach these twits something. Besides, either way, we the taxpayers are gonna be paying for the kid, anyway.

But…dah-yum…I know red heads can age badly, but that’s a harsh 39 years that granny lived (or she celebrated her 15th 39th birthday last year). You’d think folks would look at what meth users turn into and never touch the stuff, but there’s accounting for human stupidity and temptation.

Prisons and Daughters on July 12, 2011 at 11:31 pm

The national average for maintaining someone in jail is about 40,000 per inmate per year………..so it now will cost 60,000 as we have 1 and a half inmates per cell? Who is paying for this additional cost? Where does the baby’s welfare check go? The accomdations are fantastic……3 + meals a day, heat, light great place to spend time……maybe the fathers will want to take the kids to there prison to help raise them so mom get me time.

george on July 13, 2011 at 7:42 am

Oh, yeah, accomodations are great….for a prison. A comfortable prison is still a prison.

Prison happy country, anyway. Because there’s money in it for corporations. And there’s always new bullshit laws to make sure more folks do time.

Martha Stewart is an example, was there any real reason to lock-up someone like her. I loathe her. But come on, just fine her a lot and have her do some community service.
