Two questions. Doesn’t a federal judge have the discretion to toss out a plea agreement if the judge does not believe the sentence is sufficient? If so, I believe the judge be asked to toss out this plea agreement instead of ordering the maximum sentence in the agreement.
Also, is he pleading to a misdemeanor or a felony?

FYI, I happen to be a strong Sunni Muslim and have always been one. I also happen to be a strong supporter of George W. Bush and the “War on Terror” which includes the ongoing wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and Israel against Al Qaida, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc. As a Muslim living freely in the USA, it is my duty to stand by and support the USA against its enemies. If I am unable or unwilling to do so, it would be immoral and un-Islamic for me to remain here.
These idiots must be plain stupid to make such overt threats against you, Ms. Schussel. One thing for sure is that they are hypocrites big time…one can feel the hatred oozing out of their emails to you. And they accuse YOU of being “hateful”…I guess they don’t know of a very useful invention known as the mirror.
They deserve to be jailed, raped in prison, and then deported. America would be better off without these imported scumbags…and I say this as a legal immigrant. All those who immigrate to this country and swear the Pledge of Allegiance to the USA upon becoming US citizens do so freely and must stand by the pledge. Failure to do so in my view would be a sin and a crime and should result in deportation.

Curious, why are there no public muslim protests of the sentiment you express here? We never see muslims protesting the terrorists and illegals in any meaningful way. We hear the ongoing justifications and defenses. Why is that? What are you doing to change this?
The sad thing is the entire koran is a book about hating Jews and conquering the infidels for Allah. It’s surprising you still call yourself a muslim since you express such views–in contradiction to islam. I’ve never seen a muslim post on this web site with such views–if you are for real, that is a nice change.

I am sitting here trying to “digest” this entire article/ordeal. I am terribly “saddened” to read, not just the words but the intent of their words, this HISTORY of illegal activity/threats/etc.
It is (truly) SHOCKING that this is the first time, and I am an avid reader of everything/anything in print and/or on the “net”, that I am learning of this.
HOW in the World can these people NOT get punished, to the fullest extent, for their HATE CRIMES?
Kudo’s to Debbie Schussel for having the courage to stand up to these TERRORISTS and ensure that they are prosecuted.
I know “full well” that if anyone had done this to these EXTREMISTS that they would be given the MAXIMUM. It is (truly) sad, and sickening, that when these EXTREMISTS get caught (red handed) that they (1) say they were “kidding” and (2) get the CHOICE to be able to plea to a MISDEMEANOR.
I truly believe that this Country, unless/until things change substancially, is headed (full speed) towards a path…of no return.
We (literally) are being “taken over” from within. Our laws are being manipulated, LIBERALS are bending over backwards to appease these fanatics, and the rights of AMERICAN CITIZENS are being…stomped on simply/solely because of the “political correctness”.
These EXTREMISTS have the main stream media,and 90% of the Politicans, on their “side” advocating for them and advancing the (erroneous) mantra of “rise in hate crimes against extremists” (which is NOT true but, in fact, is “visa versa”).
I deeply regret that my children, and their children, will live in a Country whereby you are a “second class citizen” if you are Christan or Jewish or anything else.
This is NOT paranoria…this is reality. Nuff said.

You mentioned that you have received no help from the ADL. They are obviously placing their liberal political agenda ahead of their stated mission of combatting anti-semitism. I diid not notice any mention of women’s groups, such as the National Organization for Women, or similar groups. I know that they have not always had good records in the past, but you are certainly a women who has been subjected to oppressive, sexist, threatening and abusive behavior.

These threats are most likely radical Muslims enraged by your exposure of their activities but are probably all hot air. Regardless, it is illegal to threaten and terrorize someone. I’ll write an email to the judge demanding jail for these assholes. You are entitled to free speech.
No surprise regarding the ADL. They are still too busy protesting the “Passion” movie meanwhile Muslims seek to destroy the USA from within!.

As the Muslim population in a country increases these types of intimidation increase as well. In England and France it has already become commonplace. For this reason, Muslim immigration needs to be kept to a minimum. Despite the flowery rhetoric of the “religion of peace” it seems that many Muslims hold deep stores of hatred which they spew without restraint. What creates these sorts of people? Deeply repressed and cruel societies, apparently. I think it’s as much a psychological question as a political one. Despite the name, I’m not a Muslim. It’s a play on the Hebrew Rachmanim b’nei Rachmanim. Thanks, Debbie, for all that you do.

We need to put more pressure on the authorities in law enforcement and in the judiciary so that this kind of crime will be treated for the seriousness that it is. Only then will this type of crime become less prevalent. You can rest assured that if any of these bureaucrats received e-mailed death threats, punishment would be swift.
Don’t let the enemy get the upper hand, don’t allow them to intimidate the rest of us the way they do to the Infidel in their countries.
Do as Debbie asks and write The Honorable Marianne O. Battani. If we stand silent, we’ll only have ourselves to blame when this type of crime against Americans is not only tolerated, but encouraged.
