Detroit Muslims, Greek Orthodox Fete Archbishop Who Calls For HAMAS Terrorist Attacks

By Debbie Schlussel
Detroit Free Press resident Islamist, Niraj Warikoo, “reports” on today’s visit to Detroit by Greek Orthodox Archbishop Attallah Hanna, who was hosted by the Islamic and Greek Orthodox communities.
But, not mentioned in the article, is that Hanna praised HAMAS homicide bombings and mass murders and called for Christians to participate in them. That’s why even his own church deposed him, which you’d never know reading Warikoo’s propaganda, er . . . “story.”
That the Detroit Islamic community, which claims to be “moderate” and isn’t, would host Hanna should tell us exactly where they stand on the mass murder of innocent civilians.
THE COMPANY THEY KEEP . . .

But, per usual, Warikoo didn’t tell us who Hanna is, instead portraying him as a peace activist for Palestinians in Israel. Also per usual, unelected, unrepresentative Detroit Jewish Community spokesman, Robert Cohen, was too dimwitted or lazy (or both) to use google to find out who Archbishop Hanna is.
From my 2005 column on Hanna:

Hanna was fired by the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate because of his open support for terrorism. But Hanna continues to claim he speaks on behalf of the Church, anyway.
He has repeatedly expressed his support for homicide bombers and “all forms and methods” of “resistance,” not only against Israel, but also U.S. soldiers in Iraq.
Hanna proudly paraded his views to HAMAS’ news agency:

These martyrdom freedom fighters are the heroes of the people, and we are proud of them. We categorically reject suspicious attempts to cast suspicion on their deeds. They are not suicidal, as some are claiming. Nor are they terrorists, as others are claiming. They are resisting the occupation.

Hanna also said,

We support the martyrdom [suicide] operations without any reservations, regardless of what skeptics and opponents of this form of resistance are saying.

In a January 2003 sermon marking the Epiphany and the baptism of Jesus, Hanna said,

We do not believe in so-called “peace with Israel” because peace cannot be made with Satan. Israel is the greatest Satan. No concession and no truce must be made [with Israel]. Any type of peace with this entity is concession, submission, and retreat from pan-Arab and national principles . . . . We encourage our youth to participate in the resistance, to carry out martyrdom attacks.

Hanna has repeatedly traveled to Syria and Lebanon to meet with Sheikh Hasan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, the terrorist group that murdered over 300 U.S. Marines and civilians in Beirut.

Does this sound like a peace activist to you? Does it sound like the same guy Detroit Free Press “reporter” Niraj Warikoo described? Doe it sound like Jewish Community spokesmodel Robert Cohen did even the slightest homework on this guy, since he was clueless of all of this and too incompetent to do the research?
Just a taste of who hosted this terrorist:

The archbishop was at St. Mary Orthodox Church in Livonia and then visited the Islamic Center of America, where he was greeted by its leader, Imam Hassan Qazwini. . . .
At the end of a talk, the archbishop presented Imam Qazwini with a relief of the city of Jerusalem and said to him:
“I hope that one day you will visit us in Jerusalem after it’s liberated from the occupation and the Arab Palestinian flag is there.” . . .
The meeting with the archbishop was also attended by Osama Siblani, publisher of the Arab-American News, Imad Hamad, regional director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee and Dawud Walid, head of the Michigan branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, all of whom praised the archbishop.
“He’s a man of principle,” Hamad said.

Yeah, the “principle” of Judenrein and mass murder of innocent civilians.
Sadly, Robert Cohen and the fellow Jewish liberal elitist panderers for whom he speaks will continue to fete every single one of the Arabs and Muslims named in the article, who honored Archbishop Hanna.

I don’t know Robert Cohen, but it wouldn’t shock me if he did, indeed know about Hanna’s background. The American & Jewish elites don’t see anything wrong with Hamas or Hezbollah. Israel is constantly criticized by the Bush Adminstration for not ‘reaching out’ more to the Palestinian terrorists, and Olmert & his corrupt and/or incompetent stooges follow right along. An elitist like Cohen would always follow the tide, just like they all kept publicly quiet about the Holocaust for several years, with many opposing Zionism until practically the very day Israel declared independence. None of them are interested in average people, either here or in Israel, and get madder at the people who try to expose them, such as yourself, than at the terrorists who will keep trying to destroy them in spite of their accomodation.

Hanna is just another weak self-loathing dhimmi stooge. He is lower than the mujahideen.

Clearly, people are being duped into believing that there’s a good side to Islam, and then there’s those evil radicals giving them a bad name. I don’t believe that rot for one moment. There’s NO such thing as a so called moderate Muslim. Because in reality, Islam doesn’t permit it. They should be reclassified as put on standby. Because when the chips ever come crashing down, the so called moderates, will have to join hands with radicals, or lose their heads. And you know where that’s going to go.
Islam’s goals are world domination. Time is of no importance, only the end result.

Calling Hanna a dhimmi stooge is being too kind. Hanna is a dangerous idiot.

I recall when Russian Orthodox clerics aped Soviet “peace” plans. If they didn’t then they would face further oppression. Bosnian Roman Catholics don’t dare challenge the prohibition against new churches and major renovations of existing ones. Islamism is as bad as Communism.
I try to tell as many people as possible that Muslims view Jewish and Christian texts as Satanic distortions of original “islam.” The same people remain fixated on Carter’s deceitful
“common children of Abraham” crap. Only 30% of Americans have a negative view of Islam. That is testimony to the dogma quagmire that prevents free scrutiny of the terror cult.

“Men of Faith”
Dangerous people. Perhaps not all of them, but a majority…

Ahh, one religious extreme complaining about another. Seriously, though, couldn’t a Muslim use Jerry Falwell’s infamous speech about feminism being the cause of 9/11 to make an equally blanket statement about all Christians? How about Pat Robertson’s numerous calls for the assassination of Hugo Chavez? Does that make all Christians dangerous?

Your post is very interesting yet VERY misleading.
Certainly the title is misleading, for not only is Hanna clearly not an archbishop (as you mention, he was “fired”) but he is also then NOT an Orthodox Christian authority, at least not within the communion of jurisdictions who are in communion with the Patriarchate (See) of Constantinople (Istanbul is the 20th century Islamic name).
For more info on canonical Orthodox Christian Churches in America, see:
http://www.scoba.us/
Please be aware that there are many schismatic heterodox “jurisdictions” around the world, and The Greek Orthodox Church seems to be “associated” with more than Her fair share.
These sects are scattered all around the Mediterranean Sea, and most have adherents here in the U.S.
To write that “Greek Orthodox Fete Archbishop…” and “…Greek Orthodox Archbishop Attallah Hanna, who was hosted by the Islamic and Greek Orthodox communities…” is to cast aspersions on His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit, of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America:
http://www.detroit.goarch.org
Please offer definite proof that this event was convened with the blessing of Archbishop Nicholas.
Perhaps there were chrysmated Orthodox Christians at the event, but there are certainly Orthodox Christians in many parts of the world who are indulging themselves in heretical behavior.
When Orthodox Christians confess heretical beliefs and act in heretical fashion, the act of “firing” from the episcopate is a recognition of the fact that the person has truly already departed from The Apostolic Faith.
So it would clearly seem to be with this man “Hanna”.
Thanks again for your otherwise informative and enlightening post.
[G: YOU SHOULD BE TELLING ALL OF THIS TO HANNA AND THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY WHO BROUGHT HIM HERE TO DETROIT (DITTO FOR YOUR CHURCH). THEY’RE THE ONES CLAIMING HE’S STILL AN ARCHBISHOP AND LYING ABOUT HIM, CLAIMING HE SPEAKS FOR YOUR CHURCH. WHY DIDN’T YOUR CHURCH RESPOND AND SAY HE DOES NOT SPEAK FOR THEM? INSTEAD, YOUR CHURCH ALSO HOSTED HIM HERE. THEY HAVEN’T EXACTLY DISAVOWED HIM. DS]

Why didn’t you fully research your post?
You obviously were not willing to do so.
MY church did not do this.
If a baptist is a member of the KKK, do you say that their church is responsible for their behavior?
As for my Church responding, to what would they be responding? Your blog?
If the Orthodox Church spent it’s time responding to every heretical action of every heretic every day, we would have little time for anything else.
Also, it is a mindset peculiar to western society that the press must be informed of everything and anything.
Plus, you again state that MY church (Greek Orthodox) “hosted” Hanna while he was in Detroit.
Again, where is your proof?
You now have Archbishop Nicholas’s email address.
IF you are interested in the truth and not in simply repeating what someone else said, the you would be more responsible in you spreading of gossip and false witness.
