Bozo The Clown Makes Return Visit to NBA Draft

By Debbie Schlussel
After last year’s NBA draft, I posted the photo of #9 pick Joakim Noah (son of tennis great, Yannick Noah), who went to the Chicago Bulls. With his bizarre outfit and hairdo, he resembled Bozo the Clown.
Well, Bozo the Clown made a repeat visit to this year’s NBA draft, held yeseterday. This time, his sartorial taste (his suit) is more restrained. But Bozo’s stock has dropped in value. Robin Lopez was picked 15th by the Phoenix Suns. In case you were wondering, he’s 7 feet tall and weighs 255 pounds. His twin brother, Brook Lopez, went 10th in the draft, selected by the New Jersey Nets.

Debbie, as you are probably aware, Joakim Noah not only resembles Bozo, he is a real life Bozo.
Supposedly his whole team can’t stand him. He got into an altercation with one of his coaches on the Chicago Bulls and was to be benched for one game and his team unanimously voted to bench him another. Then about a month ago he was charged with drug and alcohol offenses in Florida.
He is looking like a huge flop in the NBA.

The NBA is collective cabal in stupidity. It’s rife with corruption from the Commissioner, to the Referees, to the Players themselves. There’s nothing compelling me to watch a minute of a 48 minute game that spends more-than double that amount of time in timeouts. If you want to establish some integrity in the sport of Basketball, reduce the number of timeouts to 1 per quarter in the Pros, and 2 per half in the NCAA. No 30 second timeouts, no “TV timeouts”. Play! We can then determine who the better coached and the better conditioned team is when the final buzzer rings. It’s no surprise why the outcome of the games always comes down to the final shot or the final 2 possessions. The league is bogus! Any professional sports league that is headed by a Trial Attorney is bogus!

Meanwhile, Bulls picked a kid from da hood (where a lot of my sons classmates live) in round 1. So very very young to go pro, though (19).

Nice bow tie. Unless you are a conservative talk show host you have no business with a f’in bow tie.

Um, is Stern a dwarf? If so, my God, NBA need a very tall commish to show the players who da Man in the League. If not, somebody give Stern two footstools and a pair of elevator shoes.
Seriously, the whole NBA is a sad joke. These players look like right out from the comic pages of Howard Chaykin’s American Flagg! of the early 1980s. Almost prophetic, once you see ’em.

What is this NBA you speak of? 😉
Seriously, they should’ve just folded the tent when MJ retired (the second time).

My question has always been, who has better officiating? The NBA or the World Wide Wrestling Association? But really, who cares if a 10 foot freak can dunk.

Good point, Burt, except the pro wrestlers have finally admitted the matches are scripted.
