Every Time I Hear that the Hussein Obamas Are Like the Kennedys and “Camelot” . . .
By Debbie Schlussel
. . . I think of this . . .
. . . and I ask, why would we want to return to it? What was so great about it?

The Left has brilliantly crafted enough lies about JFK ,over the last 45 years, until they have become “the truth” – about his “brilliance”,his “leadership qualities”,his charisma, his charm,he was handsome, the whole Kennedy family being so pretty and all-american-looking,his pretty wife, their cute children, his “morality” – all chimeras, all wishful thinking by the Left, all BS.Nothing but style-over-substance.
Find PJ O’Rourke’s 1984 review of a book about the Kennedys: “Mordred Had A Point – Camelot Revisited”, in his book “Give War A Chance”.

Well, there are indeed some similarities. After all, JFK totally loused up the Bay of Pigs, sacrificing the lives of courageous fighters by ambushing them by witholding support. Same thing re the Cuban Missile Crisis. He didn’t stand down Khrushchev; he lost. Khrushchev only withdrew from Cuba because the US removed its Jupiter missiles from Turkey, so the Soviet Union came out ahead. Not too impressive, & when I hear some of the people on the right bubbling about JFK, I have trouble understanding it. True he was better than the hacks today, but he was not good & had a lot of weaknesses.

The very concept of ultimate truth is the ultimate lie. So we go racing between ultimate truth and ultimate lie, until we finally don’t know who is telling the truth and who is not. The question is not so much who is on the right side or the wrong side, but who instigated the whole game. There’s no room for logic in this case.

We will be told up to the election just how wonderful life will be in Obam-a-lot–as in–it will be as in a lot of BS. You have to admit, BHO is a fairy tale.

Debbie–
It wasn’t great at all. BUT–It was portrayed as such because JFK was the “greatest generation’s” president, JFK was really the first TV president, and his wife was the first first lady in a long time who wasn’t just plain dowdy.
Also, for JFK, who was absolutely not even guaranteed re-nomination, let alone re-election, dying was a career move.
