Right Hand . . . Left Hand?: U.S. Gives $80 Mill to Saudi Wanted by U.S.

By Debbie Schlussel
Sometimes I wonder how America is still around. While we love our country, our government does everything in its power to screw it up.
Take the case of the Bush Administration and its buddy, fugitive Saudi Gaith Pharaon:

The US military has awarded an $80 million contract to a prominent Saudi financier who has been indicted by the US Justice Department. The contract to supply jet fuel to American bases in Afghanistan was awarded to the Attock Refinery Ltd, a Pakistani-based refinery owned by Gaith Pharaon. Pharaon is wanted in connection with his alleged role at the failed Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI), and the CenTrust savings and loan scandal, which cost US tax payers $1.7 billion.

gaithpharaon.jpg

The Saudi businessman was also named in a 2002 French parliamentary report as having links to informal money transfer networks called hawala, known to be used by traders and terrorists, including Al Qaeda.
Interestingly, Pharaon was also an investor in President George W. Bush’s first business venture, Arbusto Energy.
A spokesman for the FBI said Pharaon was not wanted in connection with the French report [DS: Of course, not. Why would we care about his Al-Qaeda involvement when we need to give him Ameica’s billions?], but confirmed he was still sought by the US Justice Department.
“Ghaith Pharaon is an FBI fugitive indicted in both the BCCI and CENTRUST case,” said Richard Kolko, a spokesman for the FBI. “If anyone has information on his location, they are requested to contact the FBI or the US Embassy.”

Um, you might have tried showing up at the contract signing or at the check-cashing. Hello . . . ?

The US military purchases jet fuel from Attock through the contractor Supreme Fuels, according to a US government website. The $80 million contract for 2008 was posted this week on a US government website. Attock supplied the US military more than $40 million in jet fuel in 2007, according to another spreadsheet posted on the site.
An official at Attock, who did not wish to be named, confirmed the refinery was supplying thousands of tons of jet fuel to the US base at Bagram Air Base every month.

Paying those that screw us over . . . it’s the American way. Let me guess–this was a “no bid” contract?
I’ve said it so many times before (with the assistance of Adam Ant):
America . . . Desperate But Not Serious.

I attacked Bush on a Hindu website, only minutes after he puked his “islam is peace” vomit at DC’s Islamic Center, on Sept 16, 2001. I have always supported a scorched earth policy against Wahabist and Ikhwanst elements, and their total annihilation as an absolute precondition to nation building. Bush insisted on making peace by armistice with southern Afghan tribal lords, and attacking a secular Arab state. Prior to same, I said that if the US allowed Iraq to islamicize, then a Hizbollah-Corridor would form from Teheran to Tel Aviv. After 4000 unnecessary deaths and intergenerational effects of catastrophic personal injuries, that is about to happen. In the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) Bush has reduced his country to beggar status. On the weekend, Maliki said he wouldn’t allow the US to use his country to attack Iran, and he said that US troops would be confined to their barracks until HE asked for their assistance. And in Afghanistan, Bush has allowed Karzai’s Pashto cronies to rake off a billion a year in Euro-heroin, notwithstanding the fact that pre-Bush, opium was exported by the country, for heroin processing. Meanwhile, the price of oil is going crazy as the US President prepares for a post administration position in the oil industry. Some people have no shame.

The Bush administration DID NOT need this. Who the hell makes these decisions?

samurai on June 9, 2008 at 6:05 pm

Probably was no-bid. Given his background, any reasonably objective Government contract official could have figured that the price was probably overstated by 100% or more. And of course, let political cronies handle our defense, especially if they are aligned with Muslim countries that breed terrorists who attacked the World Trade Center. How many days left?

Who knows why they do anything now? When the government went from being simply corrupt to being corrupt and treasonous, their interests began conflicting directly with We The People.

The operative word is Saudi. Being Saudi is a majic blanket that protects from any Pres Bush criticism.
Sixteen Saudis on the orders of a Saudi can kill 3,000 of our citizens with impunity while Pres Bush holds the hands of Saudi Princes. WTF?
After 9/11 when travel and visas from Arab/Muslim countries was curtailed, the one country’s citizens that was excepted was Saudi Arabia.
Publicly rebuffed recently when Pres Bush went hat in hand to Saudi Arabia seeking increased oil production, was told no, he took the insult with his tail stuck between his legs and said nothing.
All you have to do is say that you are Saudi and all sins are forgiven.

Our president should walk into the kings palace with a history book and throw it at him. Tell the king to read the places that are high lighted. The high lighted portions would be the ones where the strong country TOOK the weak country and its resources after getting rid of the pesky population that WAS living there. Give the king One day to move the idiots with their carpets the hell out. Problem solved.

Check out my take on this story and our gov’s ‘special relationship’ with our enemies, the Sowdies, ‘Bucked Over’.

I hear the rumblings of April 19, 1775 in the distance!!
Someone needs to walk into Bush’s office with a copy of the Constitution, Bill of Rights and most importantly the Declaration of Independence because the American people are about to rise up and deal with all of the America haters, communists, marxists and socialists that infest our government. I’m tired of my once great nation being forced by these groups to become a third rate nation. Fuck the Saudis. Fuck the environmentalists, the ACLU, the courts, etcera etcera…….. We are dying on the vine and all that our leadership can do is investigate shit like steroids in sports?? Our Presidents have flown all over the world and they have given away MY MONEY like it is candy at Trick or Treat. Clueless Condi is funding the very people who want to kill every Jew in the world with MY MONEY. Everytime I see some terrorist kill someone using an M-16 or an M-4 I see red. I’ve got to step down from my soapbox before I blow a gasket:-)

The federal government would muck up a two car funeral. “This shall not stand.”

Bosch,
Good site. Good links. I sent the terror free oil to a dumb ass friend who just bought a big Dodge Ram and tried telling me that BP was not from the middle east. I read up on that back around the time of the build up to Desert Storm.

Thanks, Samerai. One of the things that sickens me is the amount of former Americans, yes, Former Americans who’ve been bought by the Sowdies to maintain this ‘frienship’ which is a clear and present danger to our way of life.

Juan Cole is a leftist a-hole, but when he documents the fact that Bush’ “freedom” has produced an Iraq government that takes counsel on the SOFA deal (read: surrender) from Iran’s Ayatollahs, I listen. If the picture of al-Maliki with a parasitic ayatollah was printed on the front page of every US daily, Bush would be impeached. Anyone who helped him paint himself into the SOFA corner, needs quick termination from public office.

Great article DS.
zyzzyg–you are definitely one person who gets it right on this topic.
The house of Saud–aka– the house of sodomy! When I see those pictures of Bush holding hands with the Saudi king as they walk along the path–I surely want to vomit. The house of Sodomy.
The reason the Saudis run things is because we support “their system.” And believe you me–all of us western nations are serving their programme quite nicely.
This process is picking up speed–it is just now starting to “sink in” that we are now the servants to our master Saud’s. We’ve got a lot more bending over to do–because this is lost on most every American. We’re too busy with other distractions–too distracted to face the sodomy done to us.

Americains don’t know a corrupt president/commander-in-chief when they see one. Follow Bush’s history (going AWOL, Harken Energy, Arbusto, Oil businesses) and the dots will connect themselves. Bush only needs American votes for more wealth. Ofcourse, it comes at the cost of American lives, tax-dollars, destruction of soveriginity. As long as Bush gets American votes and Saudi wealth, nothing else, not even sobveriginity of America, matters. Bush admitted that on ‘Farenhite 911″, not that I endorse it.
Bush familiy is a business family. Selling-out America to anyone with a Petro-dollar or a Peso, is just another “business deal”.
