How Do You Say “Ugh” in Spanish?: John McCain’s Bi-Lingual Memorial Day Ad . . . for Amnesty?

By Debbie Schlussel
Feliz Memorial Day from John McCain.
Yes, it is true that many names of those who fought and died in WWII and especially in Vietnam and Iraq/Afghanistan are surnames like Gutierrez, Torres, etc. But most of those Hispanics are U.S. citizens. And yes, the ones who risk their lives to serve our country who are not naturalized should, indeed, get citizenship. But they are a tiny, infinitesmal fraction of a fraction of those seeking citizenship, the 20 million who are here illegally.
So why did John McCain use today–and the dead bodies of so many Hispanic American patriots who were either born here and/or are here legally–to push for Illegal Alien Amnesty in a campaign ad which aired today in New Mexico? I’ll give you a hint: 44% or almost 1 of every 2 New Mexico residents is Hispanic. Sorry, McCain, but this ethno-baiting has those dead Hispanic American soldiers, who were mostly here legally, turning over in their graves. Watch this abomination:

They died for our country, therefore we should . . . open wide our borders and give citizenship to those who broke the law, as well as assorted terrorists and other hardened criminals–and do what the enemies they fought could not?! Hello . . .? Hola . . .? As Salaam Aleikum . . . ?
We are ALL G-d’s Children. But some of us are here legally, and others are not . . . and shouldn’t be rewarded for it. Yo Soy Americana, but not through amnesty.

Turing over in their graves? More likely they’re ready to rise from their rest to give this usurper what for!
I agree, we are all children of our Heavenly Father, and he gave us law and order for our good and benefit. He also gave us this land that we should be free. Yes, those that crossed our borders and exploited our legal loopholes because judges now practice case law instead of Constitutional law are also his children.
We, the individual people OWN this government. McCain is just Arizona’s temp employee. And the sooner we put him along with Hussain, Cankles, and that Constitution Party nutjob and the Libertarian wuss int their proper place as kissing OUR rear ends – the better!

John McCain’s claim to fame is that he can reach across the partisan divide and strike deals with the opposition. What this means is that he is willing to cater to elite opinion on matters of campaign finance reform and illegal immigration, which is hardly a virtue or profile in courage. Since when has political conformity become bravery?

[Watch this abomination]
Abomination? It’s one of the most touching political ads I’ve seen. McCain explicitly says “…they must come into our country legally”. There’s no problem here.
[NB: HELLO . . .? WHAT THE HECK DO YOU THINK “THEY MUST COME INTO OUR COUNTRY LEGALLY” MEANS WHEN IT’S COMING FROM THE KING PIMP OF AMNESTY (AND THEN HE SHOWS A HUGE GLIMPSE OF THE “EVIL” SECURE BORDERS ADVOCATE, TOM TANCREDO)? HE’S TELLING THEM HE’LL MAKE IT LEGAL FOR THEM. PLEASE LEARN TO READ BETWEEN THE LINES. DS]

One day, a man named John McCain looked around at the senate where he was a long time senator and decided that he wanted a change. So he set out on a journey through caucuses and primaries. He climbed over some candidates and went around others until he reached the Republican nomination.
The coming Presidential race would be a tough one, and so John McCain stopped to reconsider the situation. He couldn’t see any way to win on his own. So he thought that he would probably lose. Suddenly, he saw some naive conservatives. He decided to ask them for help in winning the election. “Would you be so kind, my friends, as to give me a hand in winning the election?”
“Well now, Senator McCain! How do we know that if we help you, you wont betray us?” asked the conservatives hesitantly.
“Because,” senator McCain replied, “If I betray you, then I would fail too, for you see I cannot govern without your support!”
Now this seemed to make some sense to the conservatives. But they asked. “What about when you get close to being elected? You could still start to betray us and might still win anyway!”
“This is true,” agreed senator McCain, “But I might well not be able to get enough conservative turnout to win the presidency!”
“Alright then…how do we know you wont just wait till you get elected and then betray us?” said the conservatives.
“Ahh…,” crooned senator McCain, “Because you see, once you’ve helped to make me president, I will be so grateful for your help, that it would hardly be fair to reward you with betrayal, now would it?”
So the conservatives agreed to take help senator McCain get elected president. He edged out Barak Obama in a nail-bitting race and was inaugurated in January of the year 2009. Now president McCain immediately got a democratic majority in congress to enact full amnesty for all illegals in the United States and all of their relatives. He also nominated Hillary Clinton to the U.S. Supreme court along with Senator Teddy Kennedy’s wife. Both were confirmed.
.
“You fool!” croaked the conservatives, “You have betrayed us and you will never get a second term. Why on earth did you do that?”
Now president McCain shrugged and snickered and did a little jig..
“I could not help myself. It is my nature.”

“I could not help myself. It is my nature.”
And all it takes is one throwaway line about “They must come here legally” and some will break their ankles in the rush to suppport him — witness NormB’s post above.

Debbie, please learn to read what’s there and not what you think is there. The Tancredo image (along with T.Thompson I think) was from a CNN clip of a debate where McCain was making those statements. That’s all it was.
[And all it takes is one throwaway line about “They must come here legally” and some will break their ankles in the rush to suppport him — witness NormB’s post above.]
DocLiberty, I’m not supporting McCain per se, just what’s in the ad. It’s still a touching ad regardless of conservatives getting their panties in a bunch over it for absolutely nothing.

Norman Blitzer on May 27, 2008 at 12:48 pm

“Enriched our culture and our nation???!?” How, by carrying Mexican flags and trying to get the whole Southwest torn away & given to Mexico?
These ads are gone over by all kinds of consultants. A picture of Tancredo or anyone else is not there by accident. Why is Tancredo there, when McCain & the other phony conservative have nothng but scorn for him & all of a sudden he’s in an ad?
My theory is that the stuff about Obama’s uncle, McCain for immigration enforcement (?!?) is nothng but wish fulfullment for people predisposed to support them & just looking for some kind of rationalization. I’m sure these people have psychologists on their staffs.

Obviously the clip of Tancredo was meant to imply that Tom Tancredo supports what McCain is saying — listening respectfully. Not quite as bad as Obama’s uncle, but close.

I used to live in Lawrence, KS and it has had a small close-knit Mexican-American community dating back to the early 1900’s. Proud to be American, they have served well in every war since WWII and if you get them started on the vicious drunk driving, drug-dealing, robbing, thieving lying illegal TRASH in Lawrence and how some politicians would like to lump long established Mexican-Americans together with them you will get an EARFUL.

Ah yes, the return of Norman Blitzer– “..It’s one of the most touching political ads I’ve seen. McCain explicitly says “…they must come into our country legally”. There’s no problem here.”
Debbie please submit Blitzer’s comments on this to Mike Church–for his feature “liberals say the most damned dumb ass things” His posts would win every time.
McCain will give amnesty to these illegals as fast as possible–maybe even faster than Obama. He has tried to shove this down our throats for years.
