So, This is With Whom Obama Wants to Negotiate

By Debbie Schlussel
This is whom most Muslims in Dearbornistan openly support. This is also with whom Obama wants to negotiate and whose sponsor state, Iran, with whom Obama wants to negotiate. And it’s also whom President Bush enabled by doing nothing, by inviting Iran to negotiate with us in Iraq, and by sending Condi Clueless to fete Bashar Al-Assad:

For two and a half days, Hussein al-Haj Obaid lay on the floor of a darkened warehouse in west Beirut, blindfolded and terrified. Militiamen loyal to Hezbollah had kidnapped him at a checkpoint after killing his nephew right in front of him.

hezbollah4.jpg

Throughout those awful days, as his kidnappers kicked and punched him, applied electrical shocks to his genitals and insulted him with sectarian taunts, he could hear the chatter of gunfire and the crash of rocket-propelled grenades outside, where Hezbollah and its allies were taking control of the capital.
He returned to this northern village only after family members won his release just over a week ago by threatening the kidnappers with retaliation. By that time Mr. Obaid, a Sunni Muslim, had gained a whole new way of seeing his Shiite countrymen and his native land . . . .
Mr. Obaid was one of many Sunni men who drove to Beirut after hearing that Hezbollah was attacking the offices of his political patron, Mr. Hariri. On arriving in the city, he stopped at a checkpoint, where militiamen asked him where he was from.
He barely had time to answer, he said, before the men – who recognized him as a Sunni from his northern accent – opened fire on the car, riddling it with bullets and killing Mr. Obaid’s young nephew, Abdo.
Mr. Obaid got out and tried to run, but the men caught him and took him to a warehouse, where he endured two and a half days of torture. He took off his shirt to show a reporter the fresh scars.
“They gave me a hard, hard time, brother,” said Mr. Obaid, who speaks English with a strong Australian accent, a legacy of 13 years he spent in that country.
“They did not even ask for my ID card, they just hear my voice,” Mr. Obaid said. “They treated us like animals, like animals.” . . .
Before long, a sense of communal victimhood and rage spread. On the way to a funeral on May 10 for one of the young Sunni men killed during the battles, mourners walked in a procession while chanting, “Shiites are the enemies of God.”
As the pallbearers approached a store owned by a Shiite man, some mourners rushed in and urged the man to close it out of respect. He refused, and the mourners began smashing his windows with rocks and chairs. Enraged, the man got his AK-47 assault rifle and began firing into the crowd, killing two mourners and wounding others.
As terrified mourners ran from the scene, the funeral procession turned into a sectarian riot, with Sunnis angrily destroying every store owned by Shiites in the neighborhood.
At one point, as the rioters reached an abandoned juice shop, they stopped to eat kiwis, strawberries and carrots. But one angry mourner turned on them in rage.
“What are you doing?” he shouted. “You can’t eat these fruits, they are forbidden. They were bought with Shiite money.” . . .
When Hezbollah fighters drove up into the mountains, many of their Druse allies deserted them or even changed sides, preferring to fight alongside their fellow Druse against the Shiite invaders.

Yes, not only are Hezbollah and Shi’ites worldwide in a revival–thanks to Bush (and Paul Bremer and Dan Senor) for creating a contiguous Shi’ite crescent–but they are fighting with Sunnis and Druze and everyone else around Lebanon.
The “Religion of Peace” can’t even get along with each other. And we and Israel are supposed to make peace with them?!

Of course I condemn Obama’s willingness to negotiate with these lunatics. However, I really wonder how different his position is from all other presidents of the last 30 years and the European countries. All our presidents beginning with Carter have appeased the Iranians, bar none. Most of them weren’t stupid enough to overtly say that is what they were doing, so Obama might not be substantively different from them, just more stupid by being so open about it.

In 2008, what is the alternative to diplomacy? Annihilation? Apocalypse? That’s what you seem to be rooting for.
“Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.”

>The “Religion of Peace” can’t even get along with each other. And we and Israel are supposed to make peace with them?!<
No. The U.S. and Israel are supposed to take the blame for it all.

Stupid aphorisms accompanied by no justification as to why they are being used is what I would expect from Audacious. We don’t want to keep our enemies close. We want to get rid of them, get them out of the country or kill them. This is the whole problem with the appeasers. We don’t want to keep them close, we want to get rid of them, at least patriotic Americans do.

c f,
The post is about Iran, where they’ve already figured out how to enrich uranium.
What you and Ms. Schlussel really want is apacalpyse.

Audacious on May 20, 2008 at 9:55 pm

I would say that Audacious is nothing more than a garden variety troll. I will make the assumption that this poster is a “he”. This post is about Hezbollah and its various propensities. Audacious makes the link to Iran for us(Thank you Audacious), and therefore merely stregthens the argument that a Shiite conquest of Lebanon has serious implications for not only the Middle East, but the world. As for negotiations, they have been going on since 02′ with the I.A.E.A., the European Union, the United States, and others. Six years of talks with the Iranian regime and their two presidents have led no where. Only genuine economic sanctions that actually bite might have a chance of changing the minds of the leadership there.

“Only genuine economic sanctions that actually bite might have a chance of changing the minds of the leadership there.”
Worry, can you be more specific?

Audacious on May 20, 2008 at 11:40 pm

That poor man…
There is no negotiatiing with an insane dictator!
For 6000 years we have repeated this cycle of appeasement and negotiations – it doesn’t work! EVER! Even Sun Zhu recommended against negoitations before victory on the battlefield is certain.
As for nuclear arms in the hands of terrorists: It is not difficult at all for these jerks to build one. The physics are impossible to hide. The methods and historical documentation for previous atomic bombs is literally free on the internet! Terrorists can easily purchase (for large sums of money) the parts for a U-Gun, or even 2-Stage or multistage parts. Tridium and most of the equipment used is not restricted or tracked by the US Government.
Nukes are an old technology. Anyone with a small fortune can build a 30 megaton bomb these days. What was multi-billion dollar equipment during Manhattan are on the bargain shelves of Wal-Mart today.
And on a side note: Audacious, your argument on c f is invalid as you used personal attacks based on speculative assumptions toward the opponent instead of a reasoned argument on the subject. This is basic Debate 101 stuff. Either learn critical thinking or never earn respect!
Also, every conservative webpage that is privately owned usually has the Liberal equivilant of a KGB political observer tied to it. This happened with a old conservative blog I wrote for a while ago. Some guy from Canada wouldn’t stop posting vebal porn in an effort to drive off our readership. We kept kicking him off, but he kept coming back with different names and doing it again. Rush Limbaugh has this problem with what he calls ‘Seminar Callers”.
So Audacious, how many names are you known by on this page? Who’s office do you report to? Come on; be a man just admit it! You’re just here to blab that Fairness Doctrine bull @#$% that the Leftists can’t wait to legally cram down our throats!
Want to claim free speech? Go ahead! We’re claiming all Constitutional the rights here!

Sorry, that was supposed to be “tritium”, not “tridium.”

bhparkman on May 21, 2008 at 3:11 am

Maxwell Audacious is just upset because, in their last spat, his significant other broke their autographed Che Guevara poster.

DocLiberty on May 21, 2008 at 8:38 am

Incidentally, in the movie Maxwell Audacious quotes, Don Michael kept his enemies close right up to the moment he whacked every last one of them. Is that what Maxwell Audacious is advocating?

DocLiberty on May 21, 2008 at 8:55 am

“Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” The quote can be attributed to Chinese General Suz-tzu, from 400 BC.
c f’s a big boy. He can defend himself. Ms. Schlussel’s headline reads “So, this is whom Obama Wants to Negotiate.” My point is — in 2008 and the nuclear age, what is the alternative?

Audacious on May 21, 2008 at 9:23 am

I just enjoy seeing Audacious get his wimpy, ignorant a** handed to him on a regular basis.
Pass the popcorn…

So what exactly is McCain’s plan about overhauling the State Dept, which is what gave us the policies that Condi Clueless merely implemented? McCain is merely one more establishment guy. What evidence is there to date to suggest that he’ll stop pressurizing Israel to simply concede more land? What evidence is there to suggest that he’ll take out Iran’s nukes? What evidence is there to suggest that he’ll read the new Paki regime the riot act?

Infidel Pride on May 21, 2008 at 11:13 am

Maxwell Aud: Oddly enough, my copy of THE ART OF WAR does not contain that quote. Nor do any of the searchable translations online. Next time, do more than 5 seconds of Gooogle research before making statements on subjects about which you clearly know nothing.
And, incidentally, ARE you advocating whacking all the Islamic nations?

DocLiberty on May 21, 2008 at 2:11 pm

In 2008, what is the alternative to diplomacy? Annihilation? Apocalypse? That’s what you seem to be rooting for.
Well since the Islamic world is hell bent on our annihilation, I suppose by your reasoning then we should just shut the f up and allow that to happen then. We saw what the Clintonista regime did for us with their appeasment. The cole, and Sept 11. Not to mention Iran was working on its Nuclear program throughout those eight years as well-talking did a lot of good.

wolf2012 on May 21, 2008 at 3:14 pm

Here ya go, doc:
http://www.quotationspage.com/quote/36994.html
There’s no need for hostility. No, I don’t advocate whacking all the Islamic nations.

Audacious on May 21, 2008 at 3:15 pm

“I suppose by your reasoning then we should just shut the f up and allow that to happen then”
Quite the opposite, wolf. I’m all for diplomacy. I thought that was obvious.

Audacious on May 21, 2008 at 3:17 pm

Maxwell Audacious: I repeat, my copy of THE ART OF WAR does not contain that quote. (That would be hard copy, as in book.) Nor do any of the on-line, searchable translations.
Quoting an erroneous source twice does not prove you’re right. It does, however, prove you’re a leftist.

DocLiberty on May 21, 2008 at 7:43 pm

Notice how Audacious Maxwell has gone for the emotional card again, while we’re all using common sense and proven facts.
Anyone who has studied history knows that dictators and Mark Antony-types always make arguments through emotion rather than researched facts and critical thinking. Hitler did this to gain support of the Nazi party, Lenin did this to the gain support of the Soviets. The idea is to ingender an emotional response so their evil is masked easier. Then those who are under the dictator’s emotional fits follow the his orders and envoke peer pressure or coercion more effectively.
This is what Obama is doing. This is the messianic appeal: no different than arguments used by dictators and evil men throughout history. He recites very little in facts, encourages a emotional response, and trusts in the hordes of dupes to pressure a larger response to his bull plop.
The way to beat this is not to respond solely on emotions – we all seem to know this. Then provide your own response without acknowledging the leftist’s protests at all; ignore them totally until you’re finished. Follow this up by reversing their attacks on your person by proving their rhetoric is exactly what they accuse you of. These guys supply you ammo with their own arguments and accusations.
I need to publish a paper on pissing off leftists – it’s fun!

bhparkman on May 21, 2008 at 8:33 pm

Bhparkman, stop the nonsense. We’re living in the nuclear age. In response to Ms. Schlussel’s headline and post, I pose a simple question: What is the alternative to diplomacy besides a path that leads to annihilation?

Audacious on May 22, 2008 at 6:17 am

Maxwell Audacious’ man-crush BHO has the plan. He’s going to TALK to the scum and if they don’t listen he’s going to… TALK some more and if they still don’t listen he’s going to… KEEP TALKING. After 8 or if we’re lucky 4 years a President will be elected that will bloody well deal with the problem, and then in another 10-20 years BHO will win the Nobel Peace Prize. Hey, it worked for Jimmy Carter.

DocLiberty on May 22, 2008 at 3:45 pm

I’m not stopping, Audacious – I’m winning!!!
As to the path that leads to annihilation? That is simple to answer – we humans will never be completely destroyed by our own means. It’s not possible. There are always surivors and winners.
Nuclear holocaust is not going to kill everyone on this planet. Especially my family and I because we’ve taken proper precautions. I know of many others who also took precautions. Also, nuclear fallout can only last for so long – most experts believe that deadly fallout can last for just 6 – 8 weeks before weather diludes almost all radioactivity.
And while we’re on the subject of death by mass murder, I assume from your liberalism that you support abortion. That practice has murdered millions of children worldwide needlessly for the sake of whoredoms, covering up child rapes, and transfering my tax dollars to eugenic’s S.S. folks. Nuclear arms and power plants have caused very little damage compared to abortion.
Prove me wrong.

bhparkman on May 23, 2008 at 8:09 pm

“Nuclear holocaust is not going to kill everyone on this planet. Especially my family and I because we’ve taken proper precautions.”
Ha ha, ha.
What have you done? Put a brown paper bag over your head, and filled the bath with drinking water?
The lucky ones will be those who DON’T survive a nuclear war.
