What’s That Rustling Sound I Hear?

By Debbie Schlussel
It’s the sound of Richard Nixon and Dwight D. Eisenhower simultanously turning over in their graves:

Julie Nixon Eisenhower, a daughter of former Republican president Richard Nixon, is supporting Democrat Barack Obama’s presidential bid.
Eisenhower has donated $2,300 to the Illinois senator’s campaign, the maximum primary season donation allowed under federal campaign finance regulations.
The former first daughter isn’t the only member of the Eisenhower family supporting Obama’s White House run. In February, her sister-in-law Susan Eisenhower endorsed the Illinois senator in a Washington Post op-ed.

Nixon’s got nothin’ on Tricky Barack.

Obama ’08!:
Increased security at our borders.
Universal health care for all who desire it.
College tuition credit for students willing to
roll up their sleeves and give back.
Careful pullout of troops in Iraq and an increased
presence where the real culrit lies: Al-queda in Afghanistan.
The capture of Osama Bin Ladin and finally, the deaths of 3000 Americans avenged.
A return to sanity in Washington.
November 4th can’t come quick enough.

Dwight D. Eisenhower never voted until he voted for himself in 1952. He made a career by kissing up to General Marshall, who made his career by kissing up to FDR. Everyone thought he was a Democrat. In fact, the Democrats offered him the Presidential spot on their ticket. Why he did not accept no one knows. The Democrats were hurt that he turned them down. His eight years was that of a RINO. The Republicans had Taft, but he had neither money nor name. As for Nixon, he was a loner.

Not that Ike was a great guy, but there aren’t many great kids coming from great men. Bush 2, Reagan (any of them), etc. They live a spoiled life and end up nothing. Usually.

B.O. IS GETTING POUNDED NOW THAT PEOPLE KNOW MORE ABOUT HIS BLACK RACIST VIEWS AND ASSOCIATES. THAT BLACKS ARE VOTING FOR HIM AT A RATE OF 90%+ IS A TESTAMENT TO THE RACISM THAT IS ENCOURAGED IN HIS FAN BASE.

Ah, Obama. He talks about positive feelings and change, while what he really stands for is racism, hatred, bile and same-ol’-same-ol’.
Or as Neal Boortz said this morning,
What do we really have here? We have handsome and glib young man with no accomplishments to his name beyond college.

Wow! But if a white man votes for a candidate because his is white, that’s racist!!!!

There’s also Amy Carter & Ron Reagan. Chelsea, in spite of some rude responses to questioners looks good by comparison. (and only by comparison).
I’m not crazy about Nixon or Eisenhower either, although both served honorably in the military, in comparison to Hussein. Eisenhower stifled Joe McCarthy’s fight against Communists in the government, and ultmately destroyed him. Nixon had some great moments in exposing Alger Hiss, but also recognized Red China and initiated affirmative action. Still, they’re both a lot better than Obama. Hard to understand this endorsement.
I see some of the nutroots are emerging again; they seem to do this whenever Hussein has a setback. They panic, and try to disrupt the blogs that are opposed to BO.

The only reasonable explanation for Julie Nixon Eisenhower’s endorsement of Obama would be the premature onset of Alzheimer’s disease at age 60.
Obama will receive the Democrat Party nomination for President of the United States. Hillary will run on the ticket as VP. This gives the donkeys their only chance to unite the party. McCain wins in a close election. Truth is stranger than fiction.
Book it.

The comfort of white guilt. Rich, aloof, without an original thought.

Has anyone heard Julie say WHY she is supporting Obama? Curious to know why. Probably a horrendous reason. Thought them to be more intelligent than that. Oh well. BTW, Michael Reagan is not of the same “cloth” as his siblings. He’s very much conservative as apposed to Ron, and for that matter, any of the other recent presidential kids.

Debbie I hate to tell you this but Nixon was no conservative (check out his liberal domestic record, Affirmative Action, Wage & Price Controls, EPA, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Bill, etc.) and on foreign affairs he and his Detente with the USSR and China along with the grain giveaway to Brezhnev. Eisenhower bungled Suez and was personally conservative but not ideologically conservative. He was not more of a conservative then the two President Bush’s. All the RINOs (Bush I, Nixon, Eisenhower, Ford) had hostility towards Jews and Isrel (Nixon actually turned against Israel).

You seem to forget that initially Blacks weren’t for him, just the Afrikaan Amerikkklans who thought they overcame…Michelle Obama is the one getting him the BLACK votes:)
RE: this post—it balances out…in recent years i’ve come to consider Nixon the greatest president in MY lifetime:0 Ford is still the worse, with Reagan and GW fighting for that 2 spot in hell.
