I met Richard Marcinko several times and also read his first book on his life called “Rogue Warrior”. He is for real. I recommend this book highly.

Like Fred, I, too, have met Marcinko. He signed my copy of his first book. Not as large as I thought he would be, but you could tell that he was, still is a warrior. Confident, quiet, commanding demeanor.

Israel’s special forces are, not surprisingly, smaller than those of the US and more limited in fields of operation, but they’ve got their own history of legendary derring-do. Among those that are well known are an assault on a terrorist living then in a Tunisian mansion (paralleling that against Bin Laden in Pakistan) and the famous rescue of Jewish and Israeli hostages in Entebbe, Uganda. All those took place before Marsinco created the Navy Seals.

Both countries are justly proud of their elite warriors. Good thing we’re allies.

As a disabled Navy veteran; as an American, I’m proud of these men and all that they do for us. As an aside, I am proud to know that for those brief few moments, bin Laden knew without a doubt that it was Americans who had him. The last thing he likely saw was about a dozen red lasers aimed at him…by US Navy Seals. And the last words he ever heard was that of some 20 something Navy Seal leaning over and saying “hooyah a**hole”.

The Wasdins do not endorse this book Seal Team Six by Howard Wasdin! Howard lies about the family and what happend to him as a child. If he can look his mother in the face and lie then he can lie to the America people. Do not waste your money on this book! You can verify this with hundreds of people who know this family!

the SEALs are amazing. I wish I could be one, but they don’t let women in. One of my old teacher’s brother was a SEAL and he was modest, levelheaded, and the kind of guy you’d probably meet while he was bike riding, not to mention ENORMOUS! This guy looked like he could have crushed skinny old Osama with his pinky toe! Also, he spoke multiple languages (he was in international communications).
