Who’s Sorry Now?: Family of Deceased Connie Francis Fan, That’s Who

By
Beware of your mentally ill or elderly family member developing a relationship with a has-been star.
That’s the lesson relatives of Patricia Nilsen are learning. Nilsen was a fan of Connie Francis, crooner of the ’60s hit, “Who’s Sorry Now.” Just a week before she committed suicide Nilsen put a few hundred thousand of her money in CDs in Francis’ name. Her nephew and other relatives dispute that she had the mental capacity to make such changes, and they’re disputing this. A will had originally designated the money to go to the relatives and charities, including St. Jude.

Who’s Suing Now?: Connie Francis

But Francis wants the money and is suing.
Very sad–especially Francis’ outrageous behavior. She may be legally entitled to the money (though that is severely in dispute), but she isn’t doing the right thing.
Can you imagine someone leaving all their money to this guy (who was very hot back in the day and is now almost 67)?

Sad, indeed. I’m not sure who is more mentally ill: Nilsen or Francis. How shamelessly opportunistic of Connie Francis. She must have fallen on very hard times to be this desparate.

If I remember correctly a similar thing happened with Charles Bronson. I guess not everyone has a sense of ethics, Debbie.

Don’tya bet Nelsen’s family were just hovering around with support during her depression? Nephews, sisters, brothers and cousins were all there helping her through her troubles.

Who is that in the video?
THE GREAT CLIFF RICHARD, PROBABLY ENGLAND’S MOST SUCCESSFUL SOLO POP ARTIST. SANG THE BEAUTIFUL HIT DUET, “SUDDENLY,” WITH OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN (FROM THE SOUNDRACK OF “XANADU”):

I sadly came to the conclusion that the horrific rape that Connie Francis suffered back in 1974 (leading to an understandable severe mental breakdown), plus the murder of her brother (involved in some shady mafia related business)a few years afterward, as well as the lifetime domineering effects of her control freak father (who kept her from her true love Bobby Darin)- still has lingering negative effects on her judgment.

Cliff Richard! You are making me feel old. Well, I am about a decade older than you (at least).

One of the very best pop songs and the video is a classic–Cliff in leather pants mouthing the vocals to an audience that is eerily dead. I have heard Cliff is a religious Christian, doesn’t drink/smoke, and is a good family guy too.

Debbie You should get all of your facts correct before you issue statements. You incorrectly stated that P Nilsen left her will in CD’s to Miss Francis. Yes, it is the truth Miss Francis counter sued No one is disputing that fact. But you neglected to tell these people the full story that in fact Miss Francis offered the family back half of the amount and a greater portion of the rest to St Judes hospital. You made these peoplebelieve that Miss Francis was indeed in dire straits and needed the money and this is far from the truth. Connie I know is not aware of your comments but I have taken the liberty of copying it out and giving it to her. What you are saying very much stinks of defamation of character For your information there are many people who commit suicide and I can assure you they are not mental. Most of it amounts to lonliness and I believe that was the case with Pat. I know Connie and she would never stoop that low and things to her are a matter of principa. Why did Pat committ suicide? The simple reason is her greedy relatives never wanted anything to do with her until her death and then its just for the money So as we say Get over it.
