Mo’ Detroit Stooopid: Crazy Mrs. John Conyers Erupts Again; UPDATE: Video Added–“Do It, Baby!”

**** UPDATE, 04/13/08: Scroll Down for Video ****
It’s hard to pick the most absurd member of the Detroit government, because indicted Mayor Kwame “The Kingpin” Kilpatrick has his strong competitors. One of ’em is Detroit City Councilwoman, Monica Conyers, “wife” of far-left Congressman and oft-rumored gay John Conyers (“not that there’s anything wrong with that“).
Ms. Conyers, decades her husband’s junior, has an interesting record of drunken bar brawls and other idiocy. My favorite move of hers was her attempt to rename the Detroit Tunnel to Canada after her “bearded” husband. It was symbolic of all of his (and her) under-water, tunnel-vision “ideas.” She’s a never-ending source of hilarity. We’re laughing at her, not with her.
And today was no exception. During an episode of the sitcom called the Detroit City Council, Ms. Conyers called city council prez Kenneth Cockrell, Jr., “Shrek,” and started shrieking:
You’re not my Daddy. You’re not going to disrespect me. Grow up! Control your house and learn how to treat women.
As usual, there was absolutely no reason for her newsmaking outburst. The woman is a loon and a joke, but then so is pretty much everyone “running” Detroit.
Exit question: Who’s your Daddy, Monica?

I think the word ‘disrespect’ is just about the most obnoxious word I have heard African=Americans use. Whenever someone disagrees with them, or corrects them at work, school, or anywhere else, they are being ‘disrespected’. Although her type of ludicrous behavior certainly does lead to disrespect. When you compare these people with really respected individuals — in spite of their faults, I could never imagine Laura Bush or Condi Rice wearing outfits like that or acting like that, or Joe Lieberman’s wife, much less Mrs. Reagan. Mrs. Conyers is a clown — the one encouraging thing is that the newspaper comments on your link were by and large critical of her.
