I feel the need to address the title Muse have earned from the likes of you — that is, “worthless.” Is that why they have sold out the famous Wembley Stadium on numerous occasions?

As far as the “destruction of masculinity” goes, Bellamy is hardly contributing to it. Since when is politeness frowned upon, and considered to be the downfall of masculinity? Would Bellamy become less of a man if he didn’t offer to carry his pregnant fiancee’s purse? (To reiterate, Hudson is Bellamy’s FIANCEE — the two are engaged to be married. Kudos to Bellamy for coming through as the responsible gentleman he is known to be.) Certainly not. Traditional, courteous gestures should always be demonstrated; not discouraged. Bellamy is practicing a little thing called “chivalry.” Allow him to do so in peace.

Find a better story to twist around next time (or at least do a better job at it). It sounds like you were digging so deep for a topic that you plunged into the most innocent story ever, and added a negative connotation to it.

Let me first state that yes I am a Muser. Muse are my favorite band and have been for three years now. Obviously being a fan i dont appriciate nor agree with your article. Muse is one of the only good rock bands left in our generation. They are one of, if not the, most successful rock bands of our generation. They formed in 1994 and have worked hard for all of the sucsess that they have earned. Muse have headlined pretty much every major fesival in the world at least once. Not to mention they were the first band to perform at Wembley Stadium and they sold both consecutive nights out. So to say that they are a “worthless English band” is not only ignorant but extremely unprofessional for a journalism to write about one of the biggest bands in the world right now.

Now moving on to the purse matter. Like many other people have already proved. Matthew was just being a gentlmen. His fiance is pregnant and im sure being pregnant isnt the easiest thing in the world so Matthew was just trying to help in any way he could including doing something as simple as carrying her purse. This pregnancy wasnt planned and came to a huge shock to Matthew but he’s trying as hard as he can to help his future wife in having there future family together. I know that the world we live in today is horrid but believe it or not there are still some gentlmen left in this world and that includes Matthew.

Now I honestly hope I didnt insult you in this. That was not my intention. I was merely stating my opion on the matter. But i do advise you to next time you write an article about a band do not insult them to the extreme you have done Muse. You will definetly get a lot of hate from the fans if you do. Muse has one of the biggest fan bases, if you couldnt already tell with all the Musers and general Muse supporters that have been commenting. Well, while it’s fair to have your own opinion on certain topics, I don’t believe that it’s fair to degrade a man who you barely even know about to such an extent that you almost fail to recognise him as a functioning human being. Calling Matt Bellamy, undoubtedly one of the most talented musicians in the world a ‘sperm donor’ not only denotes a certain discrimination against him that calls for hateful remarks, but also a lack of knowledge as to who this man is.
Truth is, he’s a gentleman. And as so many commenters have mentioned, he is a genuine, and lovely bloke. There’s a reason why Kate Hudson says that he’s nice, caring, protective, and a gentleman. There’s also a reason why fans that meet him backstage at his concerts always say he’s so polite and interested. It’s because he is!
Obviously, in writing this article, the author isn’t forced to know the earth about the subject of their humiliation. But I think the author should think to look at what is said about him, and consider that to do something for a woman WITH CHILD is very polite and caring, and that’s what this man is.
Also, on a final note, they are now engaged. I don’t necessarily approve of children born out of wedlock, but I believe when it occurs, it calls for a serious think about the relationship the future parents are in, and in this case, it has called for marriage, at least for the child’s sake, not to mention their love for each other.

As a proud British teenage muser, and one that has already completed a performing arts GCSE 3 years early; i know that without muse the music industry would have lost a lot of profit and many new alternative bands that they have inspired. Your opinions have no ground. Why are you getting angry over a handbag. She is pregnant, Matt is being a gentleman and carrying her bag as she is carrying his Baby. I really don’t see how a man (comfortable enough in his own masculinity) carrying his partner’s purse for her, especially while she is pregnant, is the sign of the downfall of Western society.

In fact, I think it’s the complete opposite. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for in a relationship for someone who is supportive, caring, loving, and NOT AFRAID TO CARRY MY DAMN BAG WHEN I’M PREGNANT.

If you’d prefer a relationship dynamic closer to one of the 1800s, well that’s your prerogative. But don’t judge others for their relationships.
