Is it possible, since Halle Berry is not the brightest light on the circuit, that she is not aware that she named her child a Muslim name? Kind of like ghetto kids going around with names like Latrine and Placenta?

I tend to agree with Lexi – you’re talking about Halle Berry after all. Perhaps she was seeking a name that had some African context . . .for instance, Disney’s “Nala” of Lion King fame.

Lexi has a good point, but on the other hand, Berry had to come up with the name from somewhere, so you never know.
There’s a silver lining though — at least the taxpayers won’t have to foot the bill for this kid.

So what? It is a pretty sounding name with a cute meaning (honeybee) and the kid has a Hebrew middle name. I’m sure Halle wanted to be exotic in namimg the child. As to this kid, who will be inarguably beautiful and wealthy, I doubt she’ll ever end up hating herself, as the privilieged rarely do. I tell you this, there are plenty of awful people in history who’ve shared by first name, and I’m pretty dammed pleased with myself, no hatred here (although I am at least glad my parents didn’t choose Adolf or Pol Pot, in which case I’d hate my name if not myself)

I have already chosen the muslim name naila for my child.. naila meaning to receive what she wants because she deserves it. This is very close to Nahla. what is wrong with her giving her child an arabic name??.. I’m Irish but moved over to Dubai with my parents so this name has alot of meaning. x.x.x
