A few of the posts have stated that no self-respecting republican would ever vote for a democrat. I agree, and so that’s why I’m no longer a republican. The primary process that “elected” a nominee as lame as McCain convinced me that being a republican is no longer in the interest of conservatives. I say “elected” because I’m not one of the privileged few that live in Iowa, or New Hampshire, or South Carolina. No, I’m just a peon in Texas who doesn’t get to vote until after the RNC’s pick is anointed in a process that was obviously rigged to produce the nominee that the country clubbers wanted. In order to register my disgust I crossed over and voted for Obama in the Texas primary. That vote for Obama was my only vote as, and for, a democrat since my very first vote in 1976 for Jimmy Carter. WTF else was I gonna do? After the Gang-of-14 thing a couple years ago I was so pissed that I swore I would never vote for McCain, so I didn’t. My hope is that my vote for Obama may help purge enough of my angst that I might vote for Juan McCain in the general. It seems to be working out okay. Obama looks like he’s going to be the nominee but is now a joke, and his speech today didn’t do one thing to “unjoke-ify” him IMHO (his speech – that is what I’m supposed to be posting about, right?)

I love the amount of people who think this is OK. Typical of Demarxocrats. Oh wait it is all the Republicans fault, that and talk radio. Obama is done, and no matter how much the left tries to play on “White” guilt now it is over for him. He is a fake and a fraud. A Jim Jones at work and you all drank the cool aid like it was coming from the Holy Grail. I got a question for the left.. You were all along unqualified. One lousy, socialist boilerplate speech (dnc convention-04)propelled your run for prez despite your obvious thin resume.
Now, you want everyone to believe that sitting through 20 years of the Rev’s racsist blather (nodding your head in the affirmative, I’m sure) doesn’t mean a thing; that you were affected only by the Jesus feeding the poor parts. Nice try Barry. No sale.

The brain dead left needs this man to lead them out of their fog. You can point out his inconsistencies, half truths, misdirection and out rights lies but those who follow him will only hear his flowery words. As Joe Biden said, “he is a clean, articulate black man”. Now he has probably proven he is black enough for the black liberal Times columnist who doubted him before. Oh thank heavens for Barry’s tongue, smooth and forked.

Obama missed a golden opportunity in his speech. He talked about how he was raised by his white grandmother. What he implied, but failed to address, is that he had dead beat parents! Where were they? And where was the “other color” grandmother?
All he could do was show what an ingrate he is by chastising the only one that cared about his black ass! Imagine what the poor grandmother had to go through to come to the point of realizing it was up to her to raise the bas***d.
Yes, he missed an opportunity to address a social epidemic in this country: dead beat parents. But he chose to throw his own grandmother under the bus. He said worse thinhgs about her than he did “Rev.” Wright. BTW, is this Wright related to Charles A. Wright, for whom the African-American Museum in Detroit is named for?

One thing you might want to consider people, chances are, all of you who are spewing hatred and bile in Obama’s direction are already in an FBI file by now. So you might want to start moderating how you express your opinions, because when he gets to the White House you are going to end up on a Secret Service watch-list. Be very careful unless you want your private emails opened and an IRS audit on your asses every other week.
