Yet Another Muslim with a Knife Hidden in Book Tries to Board Plane

By Debbie Schlussel
Remember Mohammed Ghanem, the Muslim man who tried to get through security at Detroit Metro Airport with a knife hidden inside a Koran? Well, as Gomer Pyle would say, Surprahz! Surprahz! Yet another Muslim was caught with a knife (technically, a boxcutter) hidden inside a book, while trying to get through Tampa International Airport security (thanks to South Florida investigator Bill Warner for the tip):

TAMPA — A 21-year-old Clearwater man was arrested at Tampa International Airport this weekend after security personnel found a box cutter in a hollowed-out book, authorities said.

About 7:30 a.m. Sunday, airport security ran Benjamin Baines Jr.’s backpack through an X-ray machine and saw the image of a box cutter, according to a report from the Transportation Security Administration.
When searching the backpack, a security officer found a book titled “Fear Itself.” The book was hollowed out, and the box cutter was inside.
After Baines was read his rights, he said his cousin had cut away the pages to make the hollow section in the book. Later, reports state, he said he had hollowed it out himself to hide money and marijuana from his roommates.
Baines told officers he was moving to Las Vegas and forgot the cutter was in the book.
Officers found books in the backpack titled “Muhammad in the Bible,” “The Prophet’s Prayer” and “The Noble Qur’an.” He also had a copy of the Quran and the Bible.
Several sheets of paper in the backpack included rap lyrics that referred to police, narcotics, weapons and killing. Baines told officers he is a rapper who writes his own lyrics and that rap music writers need to “play the part,” the report states.
Officers performed a background check and found no record of crimes or active warrants.
He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a misdemeanor, and booked into Orient Road Jail. At his first appearance in court Monday, Baines pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 30 days in jail, according to an employee with the Hillsborough County clerk of court. He is in Orient Road Jail today.

They should have let him through knowing that he had the box cutter. They then should have notified an air marshall about what was going on. Once on the plane if/when this moozlum moron pulled the knife he should have been shot dead!!!

I would investigate him to see if he was part of conspiracy and then throw RICO at him and his posse

Either this was just a stunt for a future lawsuit, or the terrorists are really sloppy in their attempts now.
Rap lyrics? Box cutter? And hiding it in a hollowed out book?! I thought al Qaida and them were supposed to be recruiting doctors, businessmen, college graduates: generally they go for smart guys.
I guess all the smart ones in the lower ranks are dead or in Club Gitmo. They’re having to use the handicapped and not-so-educated these days.

Really newinnewark? Guns on planes? Genius.
Yeah, clearly not a very bright guy (I mean. moving to LV?) and I assume he’ll be watched after his release.
Hardly fits the profile of an international terror ring, does it? Then so few of these incidents do.

I haven’t seen every single would-be “Religion of Peace (TM) martyr” report on this site, so I hesitate to issue a blanket statement, but I can ask a question:
Have No Parasan and Audacious EVER answered ONE of these blatant Muslim terror incidents?
Even one?
If so, I’ve missed it…

“Have No Parasan and Audacious EVER answered ONE of these blatant Muslim terror incidents?
Even one?
If so, I’ve missed it…”
Not quite sure what this is about, how do I “answer” a terrorist incident exactly?. Indeed, why should I answer a terrorist incident? What’s it got to do with me?
For the record, the problem I have with Muslims is that they believe in God.
Clearly there is no such thing as God, so I think it’s asking too much of people who believe in something so irrational to behave rationally.

Thanks NP. I knew you couldn’t NOT respond.
“Clearly there is no such thing as God,”
A human being takes up perhaps 2.5 cubic feet of space in a universe that is (in current scientific estimate) a sphere with a diameter of 28-29 billion parsecs (92ñ94 billion light-years).
That human being exists for 122 years (verified maximum in modern times) in a time span that (again in current scientific estimate) began 13.7 billion years ago and, depending on which scientific theory you accept, has 100 billion to 100 trillion years to go.
And this, by his own definitions, infinitesimal being claims to know with absolute certainty that in all those 434,892 BILLION CUBIC LIGHT-YEARS, in all those 100.013 TRILLION YEARS, there is not now, has never been and will never be any such thing, or any evidence of any such thing, as “God.”
That statement can be characterized in a variety of ways, but “rational” is not one of them.

Doc, as a christian you deny the existence of all gods except the one christian/islamic god.
You deny the existence of the Hindu gods, the shinto gods, the pagan gods, the druid gods etc etc.
I just go one god further.
