Me & BBC on Islam in America

By Debbie Schlussel

Just got back from the Muslim satellite state of Dearbornistan, where I was interviewed by the BBC.  The Beeb people are here in the States shooting a television documentary on Islam in America, which, in my view, is just about ten or 15 years  “behind” Islam in Great Britain in terms of reaching critical mass and getting our country to bend in even more extreme ways to Islamic mores.

islamiccrescent.jpg

The documentary airs in June, so we’ll see how it turns out.  The interviewer gave me open ended questions, and I responded at length.  It will be interesting to see what hits the cutting room floor and what makes it.  As we all know, it’s no secret that the network is kinda like Al-Jazeera, British Edition and is very pan-Muslim and anti-Israel.  They were very nice–as all good reporters and producers always are –and I was interviewed for over an hour.  It’s 70 degrees here, today, and they had no air conditioning turned on in the room (the sound interferes with the interview), so I was boiling. I was asked about Orthodox Jews in America and how they differ from Muslims, which is very easy: we don’t fly planes into buildings, shoot up Army bases, try to blow up Times Square, etc. And we don’t impose our religion on others.

And with regard to the state of Islam in America today, as I always say, Muslims and Islam in the West are no different than Muslims and Islam in the Muslim world.  It’s just a matter of time and population for  them in terms of their goal of turning Dar Al-Harb into Dar Al-Islam–Western lands taken by force/the sword into Islamic lands.

Debbie, why do you agree to do the interview with them? What if the Beeb leaves your views on the cutting room floor? I’ll be surprised if it gets aired and happy for you if it does happen!

NF: Huh? They are doing the documentary, whether I’m in it or not, and we need to have the other side heard. I won’t be totally cut out. If I didn’t give the interview, some inept moron or charlatan like Slobbert Spencer or Scamela Geller would do the interview and get it all wrong, as they usually do. DS

Dear Debbie,

The Brits are not salvageable on the whole, but there may be a remnant that can flee.

Norman, she agreed because of the need to communicate with even the remnant out there. Remember your story of Sodom and Gomorrah—the Lord will save even if there are very few out there. Besides, if she doesn’t, who is better to represent our side in this argument?

Occam's Tool on March 17, 2011 at 4:52 pm

Dont write us Brits off yet. Do you think for one minute the people will allow our governments to continue to kiss Islams ass? Camerons ‘multiculturalism has failed’ speech was a direct response to the realisation that the EDL had gained 80,000 members in 12 months, with divisions covering every region of the country. Another 12 and they are a voting power. They only care about votes and being in power to earn their jollies at the expense of our long term security. We, the EDL are going to stop this.

Debbie—I wrote my letter before I read your reply. Not bad, for once, on my part.

Occam's Tool on March 17, 2011 at 4:53 pm

I am just worried as to how they are going cut and splice what you told them. I wouldn’t be surprised if in the end they made you out to look like the radical and the muslims like lambs. Do you know that they didn’t interview Robert and Pamela? I wouldn’t trust them.

too bad the bbc producers weren’t with me yesterday when i was “moving” my prescriptions from one pharmacy (poor service) to walgreens… i walked up to the pharmacy counter and the pharmacy chick walks up to the window covered from head-to-toe in islam. i turned around and left for a more inconvenient pharmacy. my concern is that muslims here are just ticking time bombs and it’s just a matter of time until they go full jihad and replace supplies of medicine with poison for the kufir.

howardroark43 on March 17, 2011 at 5:21 pm

You made the right decision. I would have done the same.

kaffirgal on March 17, 2011 at 9:58 pm

      @ howardroark43 & kaffirgal.
      Good move, same here.
poison from a muslim ninja?…no thanks.

      “covered from head-to-toe in islam”
…yup, that pretty much paints the picture.

theShadow on March 18, 2011 at 12:02 am

    @howardroark43

I would have done the exact same thing!

Look at things logically — covering the body and face and nostrils in cloth is backward, unhealthy and oppressive. I don’t care if it’s their ‘culture’ — the culture of Islam is medieval and degenerate. If people look objectively at the issues instead of through emotionally charged, relative eyes, they would condemn the abomination of Islam.

Yet, we have to all smile as some infidel-hater serves us in shops and act like it’s all so normal.Health and safety standards are ignored so that we can pretend to be some ‘multicultural’ paradise.

There was a story a few years back of a burka-clad muslim woman in England who went for the job of a hairstylist in a hair salon. The owner of the salon, an infidel according to Islam, who built it up from scratch with her own money and refused her the job. Of course, the Muslim woman claimed bigotry and was given a nice compensation sum of money for her ‘ordeal’. Apparently customers have to sit and have their hair cut by a person in a cloth sack covering their hair which no-one can see.We often judge a hairstylist by their own hair — if it looks crap we won’t let them near ours!

It’s complete madness. But this is what left wing politics is all about — they promote multiculturalism because it gives them leverage to attack Judeo-Christianity. But ironically, once Islam takes hold, their ‘liberal’ views will not be tolerated and thus what they attacked, that is the freedoms of Western society, will no longer grant them personal freedom.

Thank you, DS.

esther on March 17, 2011 at 5:51 pm

ya BBC is anti-Israel. SMFH

beez on March 17, 2011 at 5:51 pm

    @Beez

Yeah, right! The BBC is INDEED anti-Israel. There’s more then enough proof about that. The very fact that the BBC is actively blocking the publication of a report into it’s “alleged” bias in its reporting of Middle East affairs should tell you something…

But then again, I doubt that pesky facts even come into your preconceived notions…

Eliezer on March 17, 2011 at 6:40 pm

I understand the reason why you had to go onto BBC-World News is because they want to hear from both sides about islam, as you said DS, if you declined and turned down the interview with BBC, then fraudlent folks will come onto the program and screw everything up!

BTW, Debbie, I’ve notice you didn’t write an article about the disaster in Japan all week long, so what is your opinion on the situation in Japan?

“A nation is defined by it’s borders, language & culture!”

Sean R. on March 17, 2011 at 6:32 pm

I really look foward to seeing this doco. I hope they portray you as you are.

I’m glad to know of at least someone who knows their stuff on Islam…and has the guts to say it like it is.

And no, I’m not being obsequious…I just really feel thankful that there is someone/somewhere to go were we can get the good-guts.

C’mon. I know it’s just not myself who has learned things here (with the facts to back it up) where we hear nowhere else. And on Islam, it gets disconcerting how PC some peeps are (who are usually NON-PC!).

Yep, and even before I got uber-political (and realized I was Conservative) I knew hearing her on Howard Stern she knew her stuff like no one else. That was like over 10 years ago. That is why I trust her.

Skunky on March 17, 2011 at 7:40 pm

I would not trust the BBC to accurately portray what you said in the interview.
I would have insisted that I be able to record the entire interview on my own as well just so I had proof of what was accurately said.

Stephen on March 17, 2011 at 8:24 pm

You should have clandestinely taped the interview yourself (for all I know, perhaps you cleverly did). That way, if they do chop it up to make it look like something it isn’t, you’ll still have the whole thing with all your answers in their proper context, that you can easily load up on to YouTube.

Irving on March 17, 2011 at 8:39 pm

Debbie

In addition to the above differences you cited, please tell us that you didn’t forget to add that Orthodox Jews, or indeed orthodox anyone else (Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Hindus, et al) do not honor kill relatives for marrying outside their religion, do not do FGMs, do not adapt a hostile attitude towards law-enforcement, do not try to import scriptural laws into current practices (e.g. Shariah banking), et al. It’s not just the terrorism face of Islam that’s different – even the more ‘benign’ aspects of Islam.

They’ll take until June to show this? I know these programs are shot in advance, but this much earlier? Wow!!!

Infidel Pride on March 17, 2011 at 11:06 pm

I’m Scottish so am well versed witht he BBC — I see and hear it every day of my life.

I often joke that the BBC stands for ‘Biased Broadcasting Organization’.

The BBC likes to claim it is impartial and ‘ubias’ — it’s hard to keep a straight face when it claims that. I mean, in the last several years the BBC has been reprimanded for deliberately displaying bigotry and not publishing news regarding Scotland — and Scotland is one of the countries that makes up the UK and fund the BBC.

So try to imagine how bias they are when their sacred Islam is on the line. They are a lefty institution, whose main operators and programme directors are all ‘multiculturalism’ and we all know that multiculturalism is a code word for ‘I hate Judeo-Christian civilisation’.

In England, which is where most of the Muslims in the UK stay Islam is gaining so much traction within politics and affecting people’s way of life that it is only a matter of time before Sharia law if fully rolled out.

The BBC’s defence and love affair of Islam is insane.

Barry on March 17, 2011 at 11:53 pm

Debbie, have you had experience interviewing with the BBC in the past? Like the other commenters, I’m concerned that they are going to hatchet and splice your comments to suit their nefarious purposes.

What is your beef with Spencer and Geller? I must have missed that. Do you have a blog entry explaining?

batyah on March 18, 2011 at 12:07 am

To ‘batyah’: Debbie has written extensively in various articles on this site about whom she has called the “Scamela and Slobbert” duo. Among other things, she has cited (with thorough documentation) their opportunism and using the public’s concerns about the creeping Islamization of America and the West to promote themselves front, center, sideways and even diagonal, often at the expense of what they claim they’re fighting for.

ConcernedPatriot on March 18, 2011 at 1:41 am

I think Debbie’s interview could be am instrument of warfare against the radical islam if it has been published.

Anslem on March 18, 2011 at 1:13 am

BBC= Bitchin’ Broadcasting Center.

You can quote me on that one 😉

American Sabrah on March 18, 2011 at 5:40 am

thank full to sharing it’s really useful in Artical full of informative constant. Islam teaches you best eave your life.

cheap Umrah packages on March 18, 2011 at 6:18 am

I won’t be surprised that BBC would place Debbie in a negative light in the documentary coming in June regarding Islam, given how much dhimmitude exist in BBC. It’s that entrenched, sadly to say.

@David Kachuck, waiting for Debbie to unload on you about Spencer and Geller, 3…2…1…

Bobby on March 18, 2011 at 11:40 am

I watched a show last night called airline. it’s a day in the life of southwest employees, Anyways, Last night a female passenger demanded that a man who showed no Identification to be removed from the plane, The airlines disagreed, and said they had completely searched him. So he was able to fly and they offered her a different flight if she wanted. we all know the laws today, why would someone show up at airport with no I.D.?
(Dry Run again)? And when is the last time you flew without any identification papers?

Sal on March 18, 2011 at 2:23 pm

Debbie a few years ago I wrote to the Beeb to complain about their anti-Israel slant. I got a letter back assuring me that they were scrupulously fair, etc., signed by a Jewish employee. I wrote her back and told her that the Beeb was anti-Semitic and that she had been brain-washed and that if she moved to the US and experienced life as a Jew here she would surely realize what she had been defending a bunch of Hamans. Also words with friends won’t let me use the word “Jew” even as a verb.

A1 on March 18, 2011 at 10:57 pm

Debbie

One suggestion – if you’ve recorded it yourself, please post on Youtube the full version of the interview, so that we can see it for ourselves, independently of what the BBC broadcasts

Infidel Pride on March 19, 2011 at 12:08 am

I afraid Debbie you are right about the BBC it has always shown sympathy towards left and pro Islamism of the UK. You will be lucky if they even leave you in the documentary; they probably treat you like right wing tea party Sarah Palin lunatic. The BBC is wears it heart on its sleeve and the truth is not a priority any more. Its agenda is all PC and pushing multiculturalism, global warming and Israel is the problem in the Middle East. Unfortunately the people who own a TV have to pay a TV licence to keep institution on its feet. So basically the public are paying for the garbage that passes for new and documentaries on this monolithic left wing propaganda machine.
