She’s pretty awful — reminds me a little of billy Carter, or Hillary’s brother, even though, fortunately, they weren’t all that political. I have no doubt that Obama(s) will be among the worst presidents we have ever had, but I fear that Billary would be just as bad. When I think back on BC’s 8 years, as you discussed, he weakened this country tremendously, appeased our enemies, refused to respond to Muslim attacks, not to mention Oslo, and was only reined in somewhat when Congress got a Republican majority. I will never forget those awful first years ith the socialist health plan, don’t ask don’t tell, travelgate, stealing the FBI files, and even recently, Sandy Burglar, the former National Security advisor, stealing things from the national archives. Another Clinton Secretary of Defense, john Deutsch, was also caught with inappropriate documents on his home computer after he stepped down. These were the kinds of people BC had for natioal security, not that Obama would be any better. I think Hillary agrees with the Obamas on all major points; she just has disguised her radical views a little since she entered the Senate. She has maintained her ties to the communist law firm she worked for while in law school.
I agree with others who say the most important thing now is to build the conservative movement, elect good Senators & Reps & local politicians where we can, to prepare for a better day.

This broad, Michelle Obama, was educated and got a law degree at the prestigous Ivy League Harvard University (a university that the overwhemingly white majority couldn’t attend), yet she has the balls to say she’s not proud of this country?!! AND if it wasn’t for whitey, her husband (and her) wouldn’t have gone THIS far….even for him to get to the U.S. Senate, whitey in Illinois would had to have voted for him to get to there, too.
It seems as if America should be ashamed of Michelle Obama for harboring 1960’s radicalism…and not the other way around.

Your 8yr old son shall know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about everything that is going in the world, especially here. But a kid – any kid – only win if he/she will know the truth, and the earlier the better. The People at Political Compass have looked at the political standpoints of all the candidates and plotted their positions on a graph, with Left-Right politics on one axis, and Libertarian/Authoritarian on the other. Extra weight is added to the voting records of those concerned, presumably because the one time you can trust a politician to be saying what (s)he really means is when (s)he is actually voting.
As you can see from the results, ALL the major players are conservatives. Only Kucinic was just left of centre of the serious candidates, he’s what we would call a centre-leftist in Europe. In left-right terms you could hardly pass a cigarette paper between the positions of McCain and Clinton/Obama.

Over a thirty year period driving a taxi in Philadelphia, Buffalo and Niagara Falls for 18 years, 50% of the population in the back seat being black when I hung up my keys in Nov 02 the first thing to come to mind was I don’t have to have anything more to do with them. The same dumb crap I heard coming out of the mouths of the grand parents in 75 is the same dumb crap I heard coming out of the mouths of the grand children in 02.
Haven’t had anyone in this country owning a slave or being a slave for 155 years. Still going on about it. The choclate mayor couldn’t get them out of New Orleans, leaving buses in parking lots and turning down offers from AMTRAK to evacuate those that couldn’t afford to get out on their own. But the choclate mayor was able to send buses to Houston, Dallas and Atlanta to collect everyone to take them back to New Orleans for one day to vote and the morons re-elected him back in. They wanted to stay in New Orleans so they could loot. Admit it, that’s why they didn’t want to leave. Regardless of the reason for the failure they got busted by levees. Still they’re scattered to the winds waiting for someone to do for them and carry them on back down. And those that have returned have to be policed by the national Guard because the crime is out of control.
Have you checked out the second generation Vietnamese that settled in New Orleans? They suffered the same but, they have at mostly their own expense rebuilt their part of town completely. Second generation Vietnamese boat people. People that voted with their rafts and floated out to sea to come here. The first generation were shrimp fishermen in the Gulf, most of their children, the second generation speak English well and rebuilt their part of yellow town.

Wow. You know when a prominent White person makes some sort of unfortunate or ill-advised remark that somehow touches on race, there’s always a cadre of tender-skinned and loud-mouthed Black folks who seem to always misconstrue what was said and add all kinds of racist connotations to the words that really weren’t there in the first place? You should, because those types of Black folks (as well as Black folks in general) frequently get vilified on this site.
However, I see commentators on this site falling into the same trap. I fail too see how Michelle Obama’s ill-advised remark can be viewed as “spewing racial hatred”, being a “traitor”, being “ashamed of America”, being psychotic, or a “socialist”. Huh??? It seems people are reading or wishing things into her words that aren’t there, just like the so-called “race-baiters” do all the time. As the old saying goes, “How you perceive things on the outside is a reflection of what you are on the inside.”
Besides, Black soldiers have served, fought, and died (and are still dying) in this country’s wars from the Revolutionary War to Iraq, so proof of how “proud” Black folks are of this country is not needed to be proved by Michelle Obama or anyone else.

HEY NO PASRANI – here is the truth about New Orleans, much like John Cunningham put it, from Black minister Jessie Lee Peterson.
Let’s say a hurricane is about to destroy the city you live in. Two questions:
1. What would you do?
2. What would you do if you were black?
Sadly, the two questions don’t have the same answer.
To the first: Most of us would take our families out of that city quickly to protect them from danger. Then, able-bodied men would return to help others in need, as wives and others cared for children, elderly, infirm and the like.
For better or worse, Hurricane Katrina has told us the answer to the second question. If you’re black and a hurricane is about to destroy your city, then you’ll probably wait for the government to save you.
This was not always the case. Prior to 40 years ago, such a pathetic performance by the black community in a time of crisis would have been inconceivable. The first response would have come from black men. They would take care of their families, bring them to safety, and then help the rest of the community. Then local government would come in.
No longer. When 75 percent of New Orleans residents had left the city, it was primarily immoral, welfare-pampered blacks that stayed behind and waited for the government to bail them out. This, as we know, did not turn out good results.
Enter Jesse Jackson and Louis Farrakhan. Jackson and Farrakhan laid blame on “racist” President Bush. Farrakhan actually proposed the idea that the government blew up a levee so as to kill blacks and save whites. The two demanded massive governmental spending to rebuild New Orleans, above and beyond the federal government’s proposed $60 billion. Not only that, these two were positioning themselves as the gatekeepers to supervise the dispersion of funds. Perfect: Two of the most dishonest elite blacks in America, “overseeing” billions of dollars. I wonder where that money will end up.
Of course, if these two were really serious about laying blame on government, they should blame the local one. Responsibility to perform ? legally and practically ? fell first on the mayor of New Orleans. We are now all familiar with Mayor Ray Nagin ? the black Democrat who likes to yell at President Bush for failing to do Nagin’s job. The facts, unfortunately, do not support Nagin’s wailing. As the Washington Times puts it, “recent reports show [Nagin] failed to follow through on his own city’s emergency-response plan, which acknowledged that thousands of the city’s poorest residents would have no way to evacuate the city.”
One wonders how there was “no way” for these people to evacuate the city. We have photographic evidence telling us otherwise. You’ve probably seen it by now ? the photo showing 200 parked school buses, unused and underwater. How much planning does it require to put people on a bus and leave town, Mayor Nagin?
Instead of doing the obvious, Mayor Nagin (with no positive contribution from Democratic Gov. Kathleen Blanco, the other major leader vested with responsibility to address the hurricane disaster) loaded remaining New Orleans residents into the Superdome and the city’s convention center. We know how that plan turned out.
About five years ago, in a debate before the National Association of Black Journalists, I stated that if whites were to just leave the United States and let blacks run the country, they would turn America into a ghetto within 10 years. The audience, shall we say, disagreed with me strongly. Now I have to disagree with me. I gave blacks too much credit. It took a mere three days for blacks to turn the Superdome and the convention center into ghettos, rampant with theft, rape and murder.
President Bush is not to blame for the rampant immorality of blacks. Had New Orleans’ black community taken action, most would have been out of harm’s way. But most were too lazy, immoral and trifling to do anything productive for themselves.
All Americans must tell blacks this truth. It was blacks’ moral poverty ? not their material poverty ? that cost them dearly in New Orleans. Farrakhan, Jackson, and other race hustlers are to be repudiated ? they will only perpetuate this problem by stirring up hatred and applauding moral corruption. New Orleans, to the extent it is to be rebuilt, should be remade into a dependency-free, morally strong city where corruption is opposed and success is applauded. Blacks are obligated to help themselves and not depend on the government to care for them. We are all obligated to tell them so.

I really fail to see how continually showing this picture of Michelle Obama, with the pursed lips and unflattering hair does anything but encourage the racists trolls on this site from spouting on unintelligently. Really, what does this picture tell us? That she looks different? There are plenty of photos out there on the net in which she looks at least average and at times attractive.
I can appreciate the shot of Hillary stuffing her face, now that is funny. But this photo of Michelle Obama has as much to do with her opinions as “Hussein” as a middle name does to showing us anything about Barrack Obama. There is more than enough to disapprove of in Obama’s proposed policy planks than to resort to racial pandering. I’ve seen plenty of photos of the pair where they look lovingly and supportive of one another. I think they seem like fine people. I just believe that Obama’s positions on immigration, naive views on Iraq and fiscal policy should be enough for people to disqualify (or qualify if that’s your bent) him from their consideration.
This whole business of posting a photo of Obama’s wife in which she looks admittedly hideous smacks of focusing on looks/appearance/race. It is much different than posting unflattering photos of McCain, Clinton or Huckatubby. Just dump that photo; it’s only about race and nothing else. There is more than enough to go on here with Obama’s policies.
Here’s a question? Do you believe you can be proud to be an American but not proud of your country? How proud did you feel in the Carter years of the country’s direction? The fact is if you disapprove of this country’s direction, regardless of your left or right position, you might not be proud. I don’t see anything wrong with what she said; I’m again more disturbed by her husband’s proposed policies.
My pal NP as usual makes his points, then badgers others for insulting him, and then likens them to Nazis. Nice to follow up juvenile insults with your own.
I will say one final thing for all the posters on this article. Think of all the inspired postings based more on a photo of a black woman than positions for evidence of that. There is no doubt that African-Americans share in the responsibility for their socio-economic status, and that many of the social ills are self-wrought. Getting out of that economic predicament is the question (affirmative action vs. self-propelled economic empowerment); however, how African-Americans arrived there is not in question. From this country’s founding to just forty-four years ago they had little choice, and if you don’t believe that would impact a forty-year old woman or man today, you have no perspective.
For more evidence that race affects our perspective, look no further than this comment:
“They wanted to stay in New Orleans so they could loot.”
It was the poor, disabled, and at times wealthy (those in hotels), that didn’t have access to transportation that remained. Additionally, a lot of people stayed where the ground was higher and they had generators. There was a lot of bad judgment shown, especially by all the levels of government, and I’m sure a few knuckleheads wanted to stay and loot. But poor people without vehicles and money (mainly black) were the ones who didn’t make it out. Were the whites that died in Mississippi and in retirement homes in Louisiana sticking around to loot? Looting and lawlessness was a huge problem, but the fact is that those tens of thousands at the Superdome and Convention Center were literally dying to get out, not looting.

Actually no Chavez didn’t do that. He withdrew the government license from the TV station, but that station is still available to Venezuelans via satellite.
Now given that the station was actively advocating the violent removal of a democratically elected Venezuelan government via a coup d’etat, I don’t think that it was unreasonable to remove the government license. If MSNBC advocated violent revolution tomorrow, the American government’s reaction would be much the same – don’cha think?

Clearly, She is not a supermodel – her eyelids and lips are inflated beyond reasonable measure and on the photo where she is smiling her upper teeth are protruding more than of a horse. Leave admiration for her ambiguous beauty to B.H.O.
The question is – how many thousand years blacks of USA will – and will be allowed to – cry loud about the age of their ansestors’ slavery here to pump off USA more benefits? In Mauritania they are not allowed to do so, and yet until recently slavery there (and slaves there usually were blacks) was a part of the constitution. But even after abolition of slavery there more than 20 years ago, slavery in Mauritania continues as normally as ever before.
If not every man living today has at least one slaveowner among his ansestors, every man has plenty of slave ansestors – just because slaves were hundreds times more than slaveowners.
And non-blacks, living in the present time, cannot be in fault for whatever has been done 200, 300, 400 years ago. Every civilized law on earth states: only a man guilty in something may be a subject for punishment, but not his son, or brother, or father.

Do I have a pity over blacks there? – it’s difficult to say. They both have been arrested later, while robbing somebody else, and their guns proved to be real, not toys, and illegal, of course. I have never been robbed or otherwise attacked by white, or Hindus, or Chinese, or Japanese, or Jew, or even Arab. But I have been attacked 11 times by blacks. I give only my own statistics and only concerning violence. I don’t count here two jackets I have “lost” while been volunteer in the church, serving to the needs of black’s community, as well as I don’t count here violent actions to which I have been only a witness but not a victim.
