More Deep Wisdom from “The View”‘s “Conservative” Genius

By Debbie Schlussel
I love that ABC and Baba Wawa have decided that conservative means you love Al Sharpton, Affirmative Action, Title IX, and sensitivity training on the transgendered for kids. Those are the views of fake “conservative”/eternal airhead Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who appears on ABC’s anti-male hag-fest, “The View.”
Today, in talking about last night’s televised Republican Presidential debate, she said:

It’s a shame that the two most conservative candidates couldn’t talk. . . . They couldn’t get a word in edge-wise.

And to whom was she referring? Romney and McCain? Uh, no.
Don’t you know that the two most conservative Republican candidates are Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee?

“View” Hot Air & Cluelessness Not in Short Supply After Rosie Departure

Well, at least in the world according to clueless one, Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Yup, that’s the ticket: Ron Uber-Libertarian PaulNut and Populist Mike Huckabee are the most conservative. Someone hasn’t the slightest clue and never read a paper.
Well, of course, they wouldn’t allow a real conservative who actually has a clue on that network.

Not only is Elisabeth Hasselbeck an idiot, why are all the conservative debates hosted by left winged liberals.
I am sick and tired of the MSM pretending to offer real debates when all the questions are filtered by DNC operatives like the 360 Anderson Cooper.

is she related to Matt Hasslebeck?

Squirrel3D on January 31, 2008 at 1:50 pm

She’s married to Matt’s brother Tim.

Hasselbeck is no less informed than the majority of New Republicans. The problem is that most people confuse Conservatives with Republicans. These days, they are NOT the same thing.

Who are the two most conservative? McCain and Romney?

At what point did States Rights (biiig Ron Paul belief, and umm .. who else?), less government (Ron Paul again, more so than ANY other candidate, and national security (No one supports closed borders more than R.P) become a non-conservative thing? When did believing that stop making you conservative?
[CS: WHEN YOUR VOTING RECORD GIVES YOU A MUCH WORSE ACU RATING THAN MCCAIN. AND WHEN YOU TURN “LIBERTARIANISM” INTO AN EXCUSE FOR ATTACKING AMERICA AND AGREEING WITH 9/11 TRUTHERISM. I AGREE WITH LESS GOVERNMENT AND STRONG NATIONAL SECURITY. BUT HE IS SIMPLY WAY BEYOND THE PALE ON SO MANY THINGS IN WAYS THAT ARE NOT CONSERVATIVE, JUST NUTTY. TO ME, HE IS FAR MORE LIBERTARIAN THAN HE IS CONSERVATIVE. I LIKE HIM A LOT AS A CONGRESSMAN, BUT AS A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE, NOT SO MUCH. THEN, THERE’S ALL THE NEO-NAZI AND TRUTHER SUPPORT, WHICH IS A PROB. DS]

I just checked the ACU ratings website.
http://www.acuratings.org/
McCain has a rating of 65 for 2006, 80 for 2005, 82.3 lifetime rating
Paul has 76 for 2006, 76 for 2005, and 82.3 life time rating.
[AA (AND CS): MEA CULPA. I STAND CORRECTED. MY MEMORY BETRAYED ME IN THIS CASE. MY APOLOGIES. DS]

Greetings:
Frankly, I find the whole political scene extremely boring, and I suspect the news media are deliberately focussing our attention on these non-issues and misleading personalities for some other arcane reason.
Maybe there’s some far more significant news they’d rather the American people NOT think about.
I don’t know.
It’s just a wild guess and a suspicious mind.
But, this political stuff is a joke.
The Republican canidates are no more acceptable than the Democrats are!
No matter who gets elected, the betrayal of traditional American values will continue.
Taxes will increase, there’ll be more laws, and less personal freedom.
Maybe the President actually has no power, and is being manipulated by other forces.
I wonder why everybody laughs at Ron Paul?
I don’t hear any other candidate ever even referring to the Constitution of the United States.
Not even Mitt Romney, who’s a Mormon.
I’m a Mormon, and I can tell you that the our Church regards the Constitution of the United States as a sacred document inspired by God.
It’s a basic part of our faith.
So, why does Mitt Romney never mention it?
Anyway, the most important single issue that matters to me in this election is the restoration of our Republic, the Constitution of the United States, and the inalienable rights of the individual citizen.
Nothing else matters to me, not even the war.
If we succeed in restoring our Republic and our Constitution of the United States, then all other problems will eventually be resolved.
If we fail to restore the Republic and the Constitution of the United States, then nothing else we do will make any difference.
Thank you.

And that’s why you are a nutjob!! Freedom and liberty are non-issues today, didn’t you get them memo??? Sorry you must have been too busy reading the “Constitution” and believing as our founding fathers did. What a nut.
At least that’s what so many on the right say about people like you (and me) (forget the left, they hate you anyway). There are so many on the right who have truly forgotten that the most important issue in EVERY SINGLE ELECTION should be liberty and freedom. Everything else is a smokescreen to detract people from their true beliefs which are contradictory to the true nature of conservativism.

Neither Ron Paul nor Mike Huckabee are conservatives. Ron Paul is strong in northern California where his support comes from moveon.org people. Much of his money comes from Google. To the big boys at Google, money means nothing. Their form of a joke I guess. Huckabee is very liberal if you look at his proposed programs. He stays in the race to enable McCain to win.

I don’t think Romeny or McCain is conservative. What exactly is Romney conservative on?? All it seems to be is he was succesful business wise but even there he is very liberal. On You Tube about the real Romeny he talks about the Glass Ceiling and Minorities in the work world. What planet does Romney live in exactly?? Even in business which is Romeny strong suit he is very liberal and elitist. Huckabee has some issues but I still think he is the best of the lot and why is Huckabee a populist? Some of these multinational corporations are not good for America and Romney certainlly if he wants to help women and minorities in the US and not help white males at all he is not going to help America with all our businesses going oversea’s. Huckabee considers the mom and pop type business more then the multinational corp. I don’t think that is so bad.

The ACU ratings are NOT based on a Congressman’s fidelity to the Constitution (which is the Supreme Law of the Land) to which all Congressmen have been sworn to uphold at all times.
The “New American” magazine states that “…the meaning of “conservative” has changed so dramatically…Whereas preserving the Constitution, the freedoms it guarantees, and the moral bedrock upon which it is based is what “conservatism” once meant, nowadays “conservative” is often used to refer to the exact opposites of these time-honored American values.”
A more relevant and truthful “conservative” rating scorecard is the “Freedom Index: A Congressional Scorecard Based on the U.S. Constitution” wherein Ron Paul scores a perfect score of 100%!!
See the Freedom Index by clicking on http://www.jbs.org/files/fi-110-1.pdf
As for the “Neo-nazi support” for Ron Paul, Ron Paul himself has answered these charges: see

Ron Paul has also responded to the charge that he supports the “9/11 truthers” – click on http://www.reason.com/blog/show/120338.html
