Sign Apocalypse Might Be Upon Us: NYT’s Maureen Dowd Quotes Me Correctly (Sort of)
**** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE ****
Never thought I’d see the day when the ONLY media source that quotes me accurately is . . . The New York Times’ Maureen Dowd?! Well, that day was yesterday. And, even though her point is to disagree with me (I guess I’m in the “sewer” in the headline, according to her, but consider the source), I must say that she didn’t use this–unlike the rest of the mainstream media and mainstream conservative hack media–as an opportunity to lie about and misrepresent what I wrote.
The conservative blogger Debbie Schlussel smacked Logan from the right: “Lara Logan was among the chief cheerleaders of this ‘revolution’ by animals. Now she knows what the Islamic revolution is really all about.”
Finally, someone accurate and focusing on my central point. Hey, thanks for getting it right, Maureen, even if your column is meant to deride me and excuse the Muslims who perpetrated the attack.
On second thought, I think a better sign that the apocalypse may be upon us is that I actually have to recognize Dowd for being the only one–left or faux-conservative right–who didn’t lie and say I “celebrated” or “reveled” or “cheered” Lara Logan’s rape. Never said that, despite how much the many nobodies and professionally jealous types looking to scar me (and not succeeding) fantasize that I said it.
What she didn’t get right–along with all the other also-rans in the echo chamber–is that the “forces of darkness” to which Dowd refers and which apparently and supposedly include me (in her warped worldview), don’t in fact include me, but include the Muslims who committed the rape. Newsflash, people: I didn’t commit the rape, but you’d think I did, judging by the unhinged, homicidal, anti-Semitic reaction I’ve endured as a result. It’s Darth (and Dar) Al-Islam, not Darth Schlussel, but nice try.
In any event, come on over to the “Dark Side,” Luke . . . er Maureen. You’re no Luke Skywalker. But, again, I’m no Darth Vader. More like vice versa. Still, thanks for at least getting what I said right. She’s the only person who didn’t lie about what I wrote. But she is just another on the heap of those who, as reader Jon Grant points out, continue to excuse and omit Islam from the Lara Logan rape equation.
**** UPDATE: Reader / FB Friend Ian Wilkinson:
If it is the end of times, you need to tune in to Glenn Beck and get his lima bean survival kit stuff or Sean Vannity’s great great great American crap made in China.
Hilarious. (Join me on Facebook.)

You make a great point in that the lefties line up to sling mud at you but seem to want to CONTINUE to wrap their arms around the violent islamic hordes. Just pathetic.
