American Spectator Cites Koran, NYTimes’ Kristof, Friedman on Islam; “Muslims Peaceful, Not Jew-Haters”
Who needs the liberal, lying New York Times, when you can read the American Spectator citing the liberal, lying New York Times Tom Friedman and Israel-hating, pan-Muslim Nicholas Kristof as ultimate authorities in the Mid-East? Oh, and by the way, who needs CAIR Action Network and the Koran, when the American Spectator is now citing the Koran as proof Muslims aren’t violent? Yes, really, the American Spectator is now lecturing us from the Koran and the writings of Nicholas Kristof and Thomas Friedman.
The American Spectator, back in the day, was respected by conservatives as a fun, insightful, irreverent magazine that was not only conservative, but also pro-Israel and saw the light on the Islamic threat. My late father used to enjoy subscribing, but was dismayed by the fact that editor R. Emmett Tyrell happily employed the openly anti-Semitic Joseph Sobran (whose father was reportedly a Nazi; Sobran’s one of Ann Coulter’s idols), Pat Buchanan (whose mother was a German supporter of the Nazis), and Taki Theodoracopulos as columnists (and despite the fact that the creepy Tyrrell was rumored to have had dalliances with female liberal media forces). But, now, the magazine is no longer relevant. And it’s not only jumped the shark, it’s welcomed on board a number of liars, fabricators, and out-and-out morons to write for it. You just can’t believe anything you read there (and I rarely read it because I prefer fiction with a better plot and far better writing). The Sobran/Buchanan/Taki multi-orgasmic view of the Islamic world and denial of anti-Semitism has taken over the place.
That might explain why Spectator “writers” are now citing the Koran and doing the bidding of the CAIR Action Network, in lecturing us that Muslims aren’t violent because the Koran says so. That might also explain why the site is now denying that the attack on Lara Logan–in which Muslim assaulters shouted, “Jew! Jew!”–is anti-Semitic. And it might explain why the incompetent writers and propagandists who now populate the stench there are reporting as “fact” that the Logan assailants were “Mubarak thugs,” when there’s absolutely no evidence. In fact, they link to a report from CBS as proof, when the CBS report says no such thing. Apparently, the American Spectator geek squad is not only stupid, but blind. I guess they missed the many anti-Israel signs in Tahrir Square.
John Guardiano, some “analyst” (always a BS title) I never heard of, cites the Koran and the New York Times’ Thomas Friedman and Nicholas Kristof (fan of Islamic terrorist Sami Al-Arian and all things Muslim), as his arbiters of truth. Frickin’ hilarious. And, oh, so sad. Now, the left-wing Israel-haters of the uber-liberal New York Times are the ones AmSpec looks to for fact? Then, why read the American Spectator, when you can read the Times in the first place? Hey, maybe next, the Spectator will cite Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi. I hear Keith Olbermann might not be happy with his new gig. Perhaps he should call John Guardiano with the facts. Check this “wisdom” from this moron:
Some on the Right are trying to discredit the protesters with unfair and unwarranted charges of misogyny and anti-Semitism.
But in fact, we can say with near certainty that the thugs who violently abused and violated Logan were anti-protesters sent into the streets by Mubarak precisely in order to disrupt and discredit the Egyptian uprising. . . .
Egyptians are not asking for Palestine or for Allah. They are asking for the keys to their own future, which this regime took away from them. They are not inspired by “down with” America or Israel. They are inspired by “Up with Egypt” and “Up with me.” . . .
And these were not “Muslims” who did this (chapter 5, verse 2 of the Qur’an says: “do not let your hatred of a people incite you to aggression”). These were barbarians.
He quotes with approval extensive portions of both New York Times’ lefty Friedman and anti-Israel/pan-Islamic Kristof’s columns. Yeah, that’s who I trust on the Middle East . . . only if I’m a moron. Ditto for the Koran.
As his proof that the 200 Muslims who attacked Logan were operatives of Mubarak, Guardiano cites some Kapo token Spectator Jew, Aaron Goldstein. Goldstein’s “proof” that the attackers were Mubarak “thugs masquerading as protesters”? Well, he links to the terse CBS statement announcing the assault–a statement which says no such thing, doesn’t mention Mubarak, and says absolutely nothing he claims.
It’s bad enough that one of the Specator’s most prolific bloggers is the creepy Robert Stacy McCain, who used to e-mail me in the middle of the night, sending me disgusting photos of himself coming out of a pool in a Speedo bikini (warning: ick!). But, now, it’s not just creepiness that’s infected the American Spectator.
It’s the Koran and the New York Times’ most liberal columnists . . . now the ultimate authorities at creepy Bob Tyrrell’s magazine.
My late father is turning over in his grave. And wanting his money back from the many times he contributed to R. Emmett Tyrrell’s pleas to help keep this abominable publication going.

Debbie,
John is being countered by another writer in the AmSpec, which happens to be fairly pro-Israel and no longer publishes Taki, or Pat Buchanan. Giardiano is also not anti-Israel, he’s simply Pollyannish on this issue.
OC: Stop making excuses. The fact that they published this garbage at all negates any “countering.” That’s a total BS excuse. Is it a conservative publication that is pro-Israel or is it a forum for all views? You can’t have it both ways. Taki and Buchanan wrote for AmSpec for decades. That they were finally dumped is no excuse for the decades the Bob Tyrrell welcomed those Nazis with open arms. I’m appalled that you’d make excuses for this. Guardiano isn’t “Pollyannish.” He’s an Islam-apologist and fan of far-left liberals from the New York Times, one of whom is openly anti-Israel and a fan of Islamic terrorists like Sami Al-Arian. Wake up, man. DS
