Reason #495,405 Not to Have Gay Sex

By Debbie Schlussel
Uh-oh. More bad news for Elton John, George Michael, the ghosts of Liberace, Mr. Brady et al:

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – A drug-resistant strain of potentially deadly bacteria has moved beyond the borders of U.S. hospitals and is being transmitted among gay men during sex, researchers said on Monday.
They said methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, is beginning to appear outside hospitals in San Francisco, Boston, New York and Los Angeles.
Sexually active gay men in San Francisco are 13 times more likely to be infected than their heterosexual neighbors, the researchers reported in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
“Once this reaches the general population, it will be truly unstoppable,” said Binh Diep, a researcher at the University of California, San Francisco who led the study. “That’s why we’re trying to spread the message of prevention.”
According to chemical analyses, bacteria are spreading among the gay communities of San Francisco and Boston, the researchers said.
“We think that it’s spread through sexual activity,” Diep said.
This superbug can cause life-threatening and disfiguring infections and can often only be treated with expensive, intravenous antibiotics.
It killed about 19,000 Americans in 2005, most of them in hospitals, according to a report published in October in the Journal of the American Medical Association. . . .
It can be passed by touching other people or by depositing the bacteria on surfaces or objects.
The bacteria can cause deep-tissue infections if they enter the body through a wound in the skin.
Of those people who carry staph, most carry it in their noses but community-based MRSA also can live in and around the anus and is passed between sexual partners.
Incidence of MRSA is rising along with the resurgence of syphilis, rectal gonorrhea, and new HIV infections partly because of changes in beliefs about the severity of HIV and an increase in risky behaviors, such as illicit drug use and having sex that abrades the skin, Diep’s team wrote.
“Your likelihood of contracting each of these diseases increases with the number of sexual partners that you have,” Diep said. “The same can probably be said for MRSA.”
Staph infections often look like raised red dots on the skin. Left untreated, the areas can swell and fill with pus.
The best way to avoid infection is by washing the hands or genitals with soap and water, Diep said.

Legalized gay marriage won’t stop this. Time to avoid those Donna Summer concert VIP Lounges. Thanks to reader Ari for the tip.

If anyone would know about this it would be the Anals of Internal Medicine.

Could this be the newest version of AIDS? God hardened Pharoh’s heart and then caused the plagues on the Egyptian people to prove that He is the One True God. It may take a few more strains of disease but God will get someone’s attention involved in this sickness. You cannot defy His laws.

“Once this reaches the general population, it will be truly unstoppable,” said Binh Diep, a researcher at the University of California, San Francisco who led the study.
Ah–excuse me, how exactly does that work now? Gays are giving this to gays anally. How will the general population spread it? If it will be unstoppable there, why is it not doing that now? Why are gays 13 times as likely to get this? They used to say that about AIDS too. That proved to be false. Any ideas?
Also it says:
“Sexually active gay men in San Francisco are 13 times more likely to be infected than their heterosexual neighbors, the researchers reported in the ANNALS of Internal Medicine.”
Perhaps a miss-print. I’m sure they are from the ANALS of Internal Medicine (not ANNALS).

Well that is freaking scary. There’s really no other way to talk about it. Positively terrifying news.

If the CDC quarantined the people that have this infection the spread of it would be stopped dead in its tracks.
Of course, just like with AIDS, it is not politically correct to follow the contagious disease guidelines for disease control and none of these people will be quarantined. Why..because they are homosexuals and they have special rights to infect the rest of us.
When I was a kid everyone that got measles, chicken pox, or the mumps was quarantined and a sign was put on your front door warning everyone that an infectious disease was in your home. In addition, you were not allowed to go to school until they ran there course and were no longer contagious.
What planet are the CDC people from that they would allow this contagious disease to be spread to the rest of us. They all should be stripped of their medical licenses as this is gross malpractice.
BB-Did you ever take a biology class? I cannot believe that you have no clue about how this disease would be spread to the heterosexual population. It does not require anal sex to be transmitted.
From the article”It can be passed by touching other people or by depositing the bacteria on surfaces or objects.”

Years ago, when the “gay” lobby was still spreading hysteria about the likelihood of an AIDS outbreak in the general population, I provided media support for an AIDS conference sponsored by my state’s medical university.
Frankly, by the end of the conference, I was terrified myself. However, I’d helped one crusty old surgeon out with his presentation, and he took a liking to me. So at the end of the convention I asked him to level with me. “What,” I asked, “are my chances of getting AIDS?”
He looked me straight in the eye. “Son, let me ask you some questions. Are you gay?”
“No.”
“You sleep with hookers?”
“No.”
“You shoot up drugs?”
“No.”
“Did you have a blood transfusion before the screening started?”
“No.”
“Have you ever slept with anybody who does or did any of those things?”
“No.”
“Son, you have the same chance of getting AIDS as you do of winning the lottery — TWICE.”

[The post was getting long, so here’s part 2 of the story.]
I was dumbfounded. “Then why is everyone spreading the idea that ‘AIDS doesn’t discriminate’?”
He growled, “Son, you know what the illegitimate birth rate in this state is — never mind the abortions. If pregnancy doesn’t scare these kids into using condoms, maybe DYING will.”
Of course it didn’t, but it’s a true story nonetheless.

Not difficult to understand how a probelem like this can get out of hand in a city that would enthusiastically welcome a street fair such as the one depicted in these pics. Caution: recommended for adult viewing only. Link via Zombietime.com.

Sexually active gay men
the scary part:
It can be passed by touching other people or by depositing the bacteria on surfaces or objects.

To the ScottyDog:
OK enlightened one, just answer the question I asked–why is it NOT run amok in the “general population.” Bien says WHEN it reaches the general populaiton—HELLO? Why hasn’t it reached it from the start?
I understand what it says about how it CAN be spread by more ways than tailpipes–but why is it 13 times more concentrated to the gay population right now (AKA the anal institue)?
Please let me know, genius.

I think there’re much better options in sex toys than paying 7K for just one sex doll.
