The Dallas Muslim Honor Killings & ICE: I Correctly Called It, Dallas HQ, Plus Policy Implications

By Debbie Schlussel
Yesterday morning, I was the first to post about the Muslim honor killing by Yaser Abdel Said of his two daughters, Sarah and Amina. I correctly called it then. I said it was an honor killing and I said that it was probably because his daughters were dating non-Muslim boys:

A taxicab driver named Yaser Abdel Said murders both of his teenage daughters on Tuesday, probably because they had too much fun (perhaps with the dreaded non-Muslim infidels).

I was right on both counts (that it was an honor killing and that it was over the daughters’ infidel dating repertoire), as a Dallas NBC interview confirms. Ditto for this story, posted today on the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram site:

When Sarah, 17, recently met a boy at her job, she told a friend that her father would kill her if he found out.

Dallas Muslim Yaser Abdel Said Honor-Killed Daughters Sarah & Amina

But I don’t know why people are shocked. This is no surprise on two counts. First, this isn’t the first Muslim honor killing in America. I’ve been writing about these for years on this site and elsewhere, well before 9/11. I’ve written about the Indiana honor killing of Palestina Isa by her Palestinian father, a devotee of Abu Nidal, who was under investigation by the FBI. I’ve written about the honor killing committed by Bangladeshi Muslim Dr. Azizul Islam in the Detroit area, who suspected his non-Muslim wife was having an affair. He chopped her up and put the pieces in a dumpster. I’ve written about honor killings in Dearbornistan and elsewhere in the Detroit area, as well as elsewhere in America, North America, and throughout the Western World.
And, as I’ve written, honor killings are not just against women, unlike so many fake terrorism “experts” claim. I’ve written about honor killings by Muslims against other Muslim men in Windsor, Canada. Honor killings are killings done against anyone who has brought “dishonor” against a person or family. The issue is not just about dating or marital affairs, as so many Johnny-come-latelies to the terrorism scene mistakenly believe. It can be about a deal gone wrong.
In the Windsor case, for example, a whole family (including a woman) honor-beheaded a fellow Muslim–a male taxicab driver–over a dispute regarding property for a mosque. They felt he brought dishonor on them in getting the better end of the deal.
The boyfriends of the girls in this case, Sarah and Amina Said, are afraid, they told the NBC station. Well, they should be. Honor killings are often against the “undesirable” male in a “dishonorable” relationship.
Oh, and by the way, as one reader notes, the Dallas media is now reporting that the cab company for which Mr. Said reportedly worked claims it fired him a year ago. How was he making a living after that? Just what was he up to, being an Islamist radical from Egypt?
Then, there are the more important implications for immigration enforcement issues. The location where the shootings of the daughters took place–or at least where their father’s taxicab containing their dead bodies was found–was a hotel parking lot, ironically, right across the street from Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Dallas Headquarters (known as the Dallas SAC–or Special Agent in Charge–Office). Both ICE’s Dallas office and the hotel parking lot are visible together on Google Earth.
Los Colinas, this Dallas suburb where the bodies were found and where ICE is located, is near suburbs with a huge Muslim population. There are many Muslims in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex which is now the fourth largest metropolitan area of the country. Dallas suburbs, Irving and Arlington, have large Islamic populations and more than a couple of Mosques. The Muslim population is from all over Muslim-dominated regions of the world and includes large populations hailing from Somalia, Jordan, Egypt, Iran, Iraq. The Holy Land Foundation at HQ in Richardson, another area suburb.
As in New York, where at least one of the 1993 WTC bombers was a cab driver, many of the Dallas-area Muslims are cab drivers. Sources tell me that anyone who can see will verify that over half the cabs waiting in the cues at DFW airport terminals are operated by Arabs, Somalians and Nigerians and other assorted Muslims. Not all of them are up to good. And not all of them are here legally, either. But few of them have to worry about ICE touching them. That wouldn’t be right. They’re not Hispanic–the ICE primary target.
I am not suggesting that the Yaser Abdel Said–the Egyptian Muslim who honor-killed his daughters–was an illegal alien. I do not know his immigration status. But I do know this: We are not putting any restrictions–under George W. Bush–on the number of Muslims and Arabs we allow into this country. If anything, the situation has gotten worse, despite claims to the contrary.
And I know this: ICE agents are not rounding up Muslim illegal aliens, only Hispanic ones. ICE agents tell me that 99% of those they round up for deportation are Latinos. As I’ve repeatedly written and asked, how many Latinos hijacked the planes on 9/11? How many Jesuses and Manuels and Estebans got their orders from Bin Laden, that day? You know the answer. A big fat zero.
How many Muslims are mowing your lawns, cleaning your homes, working at your meat plants, and fast food restaurants? Well, if you read this site, probably no illegal aliens are doing work for you. But Latino illegal aliens are the ones working the farms, etc. I’m upset that they are here illegally and driving wages down for Americans who want jobs.
But we need priorities in immigration enforcement. We cannot round up everyone. There is neither the manpower nor the will, and certainly not the “leadership.” And I’ve heard of almost no Latino honor killings in America. Very few Hispanic illegal aliens raise money for terrorist groups through the Holy Land Foundation and LIFE for Relief and Development. No Mexicans protest when a privately-owned gym in Lincoln Park, Michigan has co-ed workout days and now must build a divider to shield the view of these “sexy” (Muslim) women as they work out in skimpy, un-Islamic clothes.
The whole reason for the creation of the Department of Homeland Security and the INS and Customs reorganizaitons into ICE was a response to 9/11. So, in responding to 9/11, do you round up dishwashers named Miguel Hernandez . . . or do you track down money launderers named Mohammed and Hamida, who are here illegally?
Sadly, ICE and DHS have targeted the former and completely ignored the latter. The same goes for Citizenship and Immigration Services, which continue to rubber stamp the immigration applications of honor-murderers like Yaser Abdel Said, so he–like his fellow co-religionists before him and after him–can import his disgusting Muslim cultural “activities” (like murdering two daughters) to our shores.
And the part of ICE that used to be the U.S. Customs Service Office of Investigations did incredible terrorism money-laundering investigations. Operation Greenquest, under the leadership of Marcy Forman-Friedman (who then earned my compliments and admiration, but no longer), successfully thwarted terrorism financing because their targets were Muslims. They investigated Muslims who financed mass-murder, not Latinos who plucked feathers from your future chicken dinner. Which one is a bigger threat–Yaser Abdel Said, who murdered his two daughters, or Maria, a hotel housekeeper? Both are lawbreakers. But the one who is dedicated to Islamist culture and jihad is far more dangerous than the service industry worker.
America is not safer under Bush. It is far less safe. Here is what one ICE agent told me, which echoes what many others have said:

Customs agents hate ICE because we no longer do complex investigations into things like Islamic terrorism funding and money-laundering and, instead, only chase after Hispanic illegals. Immigration agents hate ICE because all the high level management is former Customs, and INS agents say that ICE is even more mucked up now than it was when INS was when was responsible for immigration enforcement.
It’s the truth, and tax payers need to know that DHS and ICE are a total waste of their money. As I have said before, legacy Customs agents knew how to do complex investigations to include money laundering and commercial fraud. Legacy INS agents know how to round up illegals from south of the border. Pure ICE agents don’t know how to do anything, and they are replacing both legacy agents at a rapid pace. Legacy street agents and supervisory agents from both the former-INS and the former-Customs can’t get out the door fast enough. As you have seen, Julie Meyers can get away with anything short of murder at this time.
Radical Islam is the biggest threat to our National Security. I hope you can write more in your blog about the current state of ICE. Neither ICE nor the FBI is getting the job done. We are less safe than we were prior to the creation of ICE in March 2003. ICE is spending billions of dollars to catch a few thousand butchers, cooks, maids and farm laborers and we can’t even do that effectively.
We are not allowed to pick up illegals on our way to work. ICE only wants Headquarters-directed dog and pony shows. WASTE FRAUD and MISMANAGEMENT are the core values at ICE.

Until things change–with our immigration policy regarding who we let in and regarding who we round up–there will be more and more Yaser Abdel Saids and more and more daughters and others murdered on our shores in the name of Islamic honor.

Beautiful girls; so very sad. Have they caught this animal yet? “Honor” is an excuse for these animals. They kill for fun. They even love to be killed. It’s bred in them from birth. The grislier, the better. Wonderful culture huh? Let’s teach our elementary school kids about the beauty of it all; maybe dress ’em up in burkahs, fast, whatever. It’s all beautiful, man. Except Christianity and Judaism; paragons of intolerance!

So proud he had to kill his unarmed daughters, but not enough pride to face the consequences of his actions. That is Islamic pride. Cowardly and Sadistic.

“When Sarah, 17, recently met a boy at her job, she told a friend that her father would kill her if he found out.”
Ahh–yeah!!
What a sickening scourge of the earth is islam. Great call, great story Debbie. Thanks for your consistent sounding of the alarm. The other quote that is most telling in this is article is from your ICE insider:
“ICE only wants Headquarters-directed dog and pony shows. WASTE FRAUD and MISMANAGEMENT are the core values at ICE.”
I know you hate it when people steal your work (with no credit given to you)–but I wish someone in the MSM would steal this and make a cause of exposing the waste of ICE-even your buddy Hannity. Can you discuss this on Mike Church??

If the cab company fired him a year ago, how did he still have a cab to put the bodies in? Doesn’t add up.

This just broke my heart. One of them has a myspace page. I found it on the postings of jihad watch. So sad, her opening quote broke my heart even more. Just a regular and normal girl trying to live her life. She liked country music but not bluegrass. Here’s a link.
Someone else posted that he parked the car close to the airport and might have taken off to egypt before anyone knew what happened. If so he’s gone.

Keep up the great work on ICE. Don’t let down your guard. No one else is covering this scandal of an agency.
Where is the feminist response to honor killing in America? Did you hear anything from the organizations that are supposed to protect women?

barrypopik on January 3, 2008 at 9:48 pm

How many latinos hijacked the planes on 9/11, we need ìprioritiesî in immigration enforcement, we cannot round up everyone. Iím used to those statements being vomited up by the Bush-Kennedy-McCain-wall street journal-Tamar jacoby-Rueben Navarette-DHS-LaRaza-Home depot crowd, but Schlussel?
Interesting. Gilchrist gives his support to an open borders advocate, Tancredo throws his support behind an amnesty guy and now Schlusselís mouthing open border platitudes?
The pigs must be in flight.
That said: the majority of rank and file Americans, citizens, are quite happy with the iCE dog and pony show if the show produces deported illegal aliens.
I see no reason why we should accept some 20 million foreign nationals whose presence on our soil has contributed to the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans.
No.
That some muslim savage slaughters his own blood because his religion gives him permission to do so does not diminish the ongoing devastation those 20 million illegals bring about.
No question the federal government welcomes Muslims with open arms. Indeed. Bush has given much to Islam in the US, from access to our security procedures at airports (which I believe Schlussel reported on) to the mindless blubbering about Islam is a religion of peace.
The only people he has given more to is the illegal alien.
A growing number of Americans are fighting the illegal alien invasion through grass roots organizations that demonstrate, fax, email and phone their respective congress criminals and so forth.
For whatever reasons there are no comparative organizations confronting the Islamic threat. There should be.
Certainly if Bush has his way, illegal aliens and Muslims will be the death of us. But suggesting we allow illegal aliens to carry on as they wish in the vain hope that DHS will suddenly start rounding up illegal alien muslims is not just wrong, its delusional.
DHS canít do the job now. What will change?
A very disappointing post.

After killing their own flesh and blood, these hypocrites will declare: “In Islam, killing one innocent human being, is like killing whole humanity”.
ofcourse, this is for the gullible kafur, whose throat will be slit by the same Islamist, a the first opportunity. Feel the light of Islam.

Questions: With two pretty looking daughters, I have to ask: How’d he get a beautiful woman to marry him? and Is his wife so under his thumb economically that she had to settle for him? Also, since the girls look fairly different, did he (does he?) have more than one wife? I’m just sayin’…

Jeremiah: “Look at those green-gray eyes – Are they the issue of strictly Arab genes?”
Do you know who Amin al-Husseini was? He was the mufti of Jerusalem and the leader of the Palestinians from the 1920’s until after WWII. Among his notable “accomplishments”:
– Incited a pogrom in the 1920s that wiped out the indigenous Jewish population of Hebron
– Undertook a campaign of assassination against Arab moderates in the 1930s that has kept sane Palestinians in fear to this day
– Allied with Hitler during WWII and lived in Berlin during the war
– When he got wind of a Nazi plan to release Jewish children for ransom money he urged his friend Himmler to send the children to the death camps
– Allegedly visited the gas chambers himself to make sure Jews were being killed fast enough for him
– Founded the PLO
– Relative (uncle or cousin?) of Yasser Arafat, and like him was a homosexual
Husseini had red hair and blue eyes.

I live in the metroplex and some information not going out to the general public (info on local television news)- the father has lived in Texas for the past 22 years. I would guess he’s likely here legally. Also, the mother and daughters had left him apparently. On Dec. 26th he called police to his home to file a missing person’s report about his wife and daughters.
There are a number of large mosques in the more “pc” cities and areas. Smaller cities aren’t as muslim-friendly.
While you see muslims in Fort Worth, for example, you don’t see them much outside of WalMart. They don’t usually frequent restraunts, etc. nor the malls here.
I believe- but cannot prove- that the Holy Land Trial results had an after-effect of emboldening Muslims. Liberalism’s affect (and the jury bully was an ardent liberal) is to embolden enemies of America, even on our soil.

leahdyanne on January 4, 2008 at 9:11 am

The girls’ brother, Islam Said, said publicly during and after the candlelight vigil that religion had nothing to do with the killings. To the Forth Worth Star-Telegram he said, “Religion has nothing to do with this, and it was very wrong. Islam is not a bad religion.” To the Dallas Morning News he said, “It’s not religion. It’s something else. Religion has nothing to do with it.” He urged his father to surrender to police. The police said there is a long history of domestic violence in the family.

Jeremiah- “Look at those green-gray eyes – Are they the issue of strictly Arab genes?”
genetics has little to nothing to do with this issue. We are dealing with the intersection of religious influence on culture as it affects an individual.
As close-to-home example, my father came from Poland. My mother was a full blood Cherokee. Look at me, and there’s little to no sign of me being anything but native american. I have straight black hair, dark eyes, “the cheekbones” and the complexion. My father was blonde, blue eyed, and fair complected. My husband’s morphology matches my Dad’s. Our son is practically a clone of his father. Our daughter is a “mini-me”.
If you were to take a geneticly nordic child at birth, raise him in the culture, religion and polity of Saudi Arabia, what would you expect of him? Would you evaluate him as a “threat” based on “where he’s been” or on “how he looks”?
This is how political correctness corrupts our society and erodes common sense- moral relativism has expanded now so we look for ways to find “redemption” for behavior in any way we can- be it cultual, selective choice of evaluation of relegion and now directly trying to apply “eugenics” and ethnicity.
I seem to remember hearing about a few nutbags 7 decades ago who tried to apply that kind of thinking to comdemn the innocent and excuse the morally reprehensible.

First and foremost I would like to send my condolences to the family. I can only imagine how hard it would be to deal with such a loss. Next I would like to address Debbie’s article, which I found to have an underlying purpose. This article did not seem to be geared towards addressing the situation at hand, instead it seemed to be a sly attack towards Islam and Arabs in general. Sometime I feel that there is so much anger towards a religion which comprises SO much of the population. I think people need to step back and realize that there are isolated incidences in every culture/religion. This is no justification for the act itself, but when you put every isolated incidence of a certain religion on blast, you tend to creat an image of that specific religion! Islam in general is not a barbaric religion. You quite seldom hear of the good that is done by people of this relgion. To me this is very sad, b/c there are a lot of good people out there who are ultimately discredited due to the media portrayal of “them” as human beings. The whole article is filled with inaccuracies and self opinions. It talks about the family tragedy for 2 paragraphs and then tirades for the rest of the article into how “Islam and Arabs” are horrible, and how we should save hispanics from the ICE. And as for Debbie saying hispanics are harmless, they too have people within their community who commit outrageous crimes (murders, rapes etc). So for her to portray anyone as barbaric vs. harmless is inaccurate. I personally think she needs to be less opinionated, and do her research the proper way before she goes on a tirade depicting and placing over 1 million people into a “category” of animals. I think she needs to be on a mission to depict accuracies rather than a crusade to victimize a religion. She is one among many individuals out to stereotype a massive group of people. Very sad.

I drove a cab in the Dallas area for about 7 months and most of the foreigners treated me fairly well to my face but in practice they undercut fairs and do all sorts of things to get fairs I equate with someone who would cross a picket line to get a job. I was born in Dallas in 1961 and have spent most of my life in the area. When I applied for my cab license with the city of Dallas there was no INS check whatsoever…did not have to produce a SS card birth certificate only had to have a clean criminal and driving record. The loophole is the fact that no cab driver is employed by any cab company in Dallas they are all sole proprieters receiving no benefits. They lease their cabs from the cab companies. A cab driver can loose his license if the city deems them unaceptable thru complaints ect. I do not know of any cab drivers that do hard drugs but by the same token they are not drug tested either. Ft. Worth Tx. drug tests their candidates. IMHO no proof of citizenship is HUGE national security issue. In particular Cowboy Cab is owned and operated by a family of Iranians…they seem to be nice folks but I can’t help but notice my van I stored in their yard blew antifreeze out the exhaust immediately when I drove it off their lot and now I have no car to drive. The van was not worth fixing but in the 3 years I had it it drove just fine it went from Dallas to Tenn then to New Mexico back to Dallas then onto Oklahoma pulling a 20 foot trailer eventually back to Dallas NEVER overheating.

As a footnote here’s the lowdown why most USA citizens would not drive a cab:
you have to lease the cab 7 days a week 365 days a year holidays mean no fares you might as well stay home and loose $60 for the day.
No sick leave, no vacation time, no insurance, you carry enough cash to be a target, no respect from most people almost looked upon as a homeless individual which I am sure a lot of cabbies are.
To boil it down it costs about $700 a week after fuel and lease to have a cab whether you work or not if you do not get over $700 you make nothing. I have worked a 20 hour day to end up $20 negative. It was so bad the last 2 weeks I did it I was negative $600 due to being sick 2 days.

My grandparents left their homelands – Portugal and Philippines for a better life and ended up meeting in Hawaii, to that i am extremely grateful. While we celebrate our culture in our food, dance, etc. we totally embrace the american way. I am proud to be a part of this country and while it is not perfect, there is no place else in the world that I would whether live. So while the USA is a melting pot, if you chose to live here then you should adopt some of the basic principles of this country which is stated in a very important document called the Declaration of Independence where it states that every person is entitled certain rights and to pursue happiness. If you wish to continue your extreme ways of life that goes against our way of life, then why not stay in your own countries. If you CHOSE to come here, then CHOSE to live within these norms. Honor killings are abominable but I couldn’t judge so harshly when they occur in the countries that value this as part of their culture. The United States is not and will never be a place where such attrocities will ever be tolerated. I am sure that we can create a fundraising group to fund a one way airline ticket back East if we there are any takers.
